  1. To make it less wordy than the last post, I'll just summarize the thoughts I had reading each section rather than a line-by-line audit.
  2.
  3. Additionally, to be unbiased, I don't read the debates until they're done and go by them step by step. So it's likely that I'll change my mind on an initial point if something later comes up.
  4.
  5. Hoppy the Hopper (Hop) vs IAmNotAChinaboo (China)
  6.
  7. Hop - Response 1
  8.
  9. Hop does a solid job setting up both of his team members, their abilities, speed, intelligence, and overall gear.
  10.
  11. The next big post is Hop going over the map and how his characters would tackle the enemy force. Overall I find the proposed scenario by Hop to be feasible, with his team using their better jungle and CQC ability to whittle down the enemy team until they can target and fight the key figures.
  12.
  13. China - Response 1
  14.
  15. China gives a solid opening for both his units. While I do feel like VQ is inferior to Hop's people, she doesn't seem worse than they are. The big carry is Zazie who's guns are rather insane and is consistently shown to have transonic/supersonic reactions. Additionally, the 1,499 Vorg troops don't hurt.
  16.
  17. The plan of bunkering down and sending out hunting parties seems counterproductive, however. Ultimately them hunkering down make them easier to spot and sending out forces in piecemeal against superior foes will only result in them losing more people.
  18.
  19. Hop - Response 2
  20.
  21. Hop's counterpoints about heat resistance and speed are pretty good and swayed me from China's points. However, I'm not directly seeing a good way to counter to them hunkering down other than "Waste of materials" or them destroying the Vord in a reasonable amount of time
  22.
  23. China - Response 2
  24.
  25. It's short and to the point, going over how the Vord reproduction rates make a long-term siege mostly untenable. If they do attack Zazie is a very tough enemy to deal with against a large number disadvantage.
  26.
  27.
  28. Conclusion
  29.
  30. I left the previous responses short due to the amount of information and arguments that I felt like I couldn't properly summarize without doing extensive bullet points or writing a couple of paragraphs per section. So Hopper made excellent points and overall presented a solid argument on all points.
  31. However, the biggest issue here is ultimately that the match up just doesn't fall in his teams favor in my mind. Zazie herself is just one of the worst people for Majira to fight against and China's team lacks the sustainability to defeat a Vord horde. Ultimately their stealth abilities are good, but not good enough
  32. to counter China's detection ability. Both Majira and Yu are fast and skilled, but nothing shown implies that they're fast or durable enough to hand Zazie's firepower. If they're able to either get rid of the swarm or just deal with Zazie, I could see them winning, but ultimately that's just not a valid win condition
  33. in my view. However, I will say that the bug parties would be wiped out rather easily and if they do get the drop on Zazie, the two of them can beat her due to their speed and abilites. But to me that's less likely then one of them being caught out by Zazie or being wounded in some capacity and whittled down.
  34.
  35. In my view, China won the debate.
