  1. Dragonbane has created a lag counter with gecko codes to work with VC. We can use this to further investigate how loading times vary between different Wii's (if at all).
  2.
  3. So far we have collected data on types of Wii's and how long their savewarps are. Now let's see if there's any correlation between reset duration and loads, or cpu revision and loads.
  4.
  5. Follow these steps to record your data:
  6.
  7. 1. Download this gct file with the lag counter here: https://goo.gl/BWa9ka
  8.
  9. 2. Make a backup of the NACJ file in your codes folder (your practice codes)
  10.
  11. 3. Drag the lag counter NACJ file to your codes folder and select "replace"
  12.
  13. 4. Boot OoT through gecko and confirm the counter is working. Hit D-pad down to give yourself the giants wallet.
  14.
  15. Now we are ready to do our tests...
  16. This test must be done FROM A FRESH FILE. We want to control all variables that could affect load times and just focus on everyone coming from the same case. Watch the intro and head over to lost woods
  17.
  18. 5. Clear the lag counter with d-pad up
  19.
  20. 6. Walk through the Kokiri Forest -> Lost Woods loading zone. Record the number on your rupee count in the spreadsheet
  21.
  22. 7. Clear the lag counter again and walk back through the Lost Woods -> Kokiri loading zone. Record the results in the other spreadsheet.
  23.
  24. 8. Repeat steps 5 - 7 for a total of 10 times
  25.
  26.
  27. We know that load times vary slightly on the same machine for OoT. So to compensate for this we will take the average of 10 trials and compare the averages to each other to see if load times vary between Wii's.
  28.
  29. When you are done you can drag the backup NACJ file you made back to your SD card to get your practice codes back. If you didnt make a backup, download them again from zeldacodes.org
