  85.
  86. During local |make mozmill| test using full DEBUG version of TB, I noticed
  87. the following error in the log.
  88.
  89. From a local summary of errors/warnings:
  90.
  91. 11 JavaScript error: chrome://messenger/content/folderDisplay.js,
  92. line 2480: TypeError: this.view.dbView is null
  93.
  94. 11 at the beginning, this happened 11 (eleven) times.
  95.
  96. I finally have had the time to look at this issue. The first and the
  97. second appearance of this error are as follows. This doesn't look
  98. right. How can a test pass where we have such glaring errors?!
  99.

  115.
  116. The code in question is:
  117. 2459 ensureRowIsVisible: function FolderDisplayWidget_ensureRowIsVisible(
  118. 2460 aViewIndex, aBounced) {
  119. 2461 // Dealing with the tree view layout is a nightmare, let's
  120. just always make
  121. 2462 // sure we re-schedule ourselves. The most particular
  122. rationale here is
  123. 2463 // that the message pane may be toggling its state and it's
  124. much simpler
  125. 2464 // and reliable if we ensure that all of FolderDisplayWidget's
  126. state
  127. 2465 // change logic gets to run to completion before we run ourselves.
  128. 2466 if (!aBounced) {
  129. 2467 let dis = this;
  130. 2468 window.setTimeout(function() {
  131. 2469 dis.ensureRowIsVisible(aViewIndex, true);
  132. 2470 }, 0);
  133. 2471 }
  134. 2472
  135. 2473 let treeBox = this.treeBox;
  136. 2474 if (!treeBox)
  137. 2475 return;
  138. 2476
  139. 2477 // try and trigger a reflow...
  140. 2478 treeBox.height;
  141. 2479
  142. *2480 let maxIndex = this.view.dbView.rowCount - 1;
  143. 2481
  144. 2482 let first = treeBox.getFirstVisibleRow();
  145. 2483 // Assume the bottom row is half-visible and should generally
  146. be ignored.
  147.
  148. I don't understand the code well.
  149. Maybe we should insert a wait with a timeout after 2478, a wait
  150. similar to the one which is done in 2466. OR check if dbView is null,
  151. and if so take a quick abortive return??? (Or maybe we have again
  152. some bug in the calculation of rows which we have seen early this year?)
  153. Or maybe we should run the wait timeout thingy in 2466 irrespective of
  154. aBounced?
  155.
  156. Comment appreciated.
  157.
  158. PS: I want to see some noisy errors disappear from the |make mozmill|
  159. log while I am working on file I/O error issues, but the numbers of
  160. such errors/warnings have crept up significantly in the last 12 months :-(
  161. Right now this is near the top of Javascript error list.
  162.
  163. I suspect not many people would trust mail client with so many error and
  164. warning messages produced during test suite run ...

  183. Presumably because they are not (fully) valid. Certificate handling is
  184. common with firefox and they have tightened their cert handling. For 31
  185. is was rewritten completely.
  186.
  187. Regarding your problem, I would try to remove those cert exceptions and
  188. see what happnes. (Maybe a bug that a previous accepted cert that is now
  189. no longer accepted won't get re-prompted for?)

  347. I don&#39;t understand the code well.<br />
  348. Maybe we should insert a wait with a timeout after 2478, a wait<br />
  349. similar to the one which is done in 2466. OR check if dbView is null,<br />
  350. and if so take a quick abortive return??? (Or maybe we have again<br />
  351. some bug in the calculation of rows which we have seen early this year?)<br />
  352. Or maybe we should run the wait timeout thingy in 2466 irrespective of<br />
  353. aBounced?<br />
  354. &nbsp;<br />
  355. Comment appreciated.<br />

  357. PS: I want to see some noisy errors disappear from the |make mozmill|<br />
  358. log while I am working on file I/O error issues, but the numbers of<br />
  359. such errors/warnings have crept up significantly in the last 12 months :-(<br />
  360. Right now this is near the top of Javascript error list.<br />
  361. &nbsp;<br />
  362. I suspect not many people would trust mail client with so many error and<br />
  363. warning messages produced during test suite run ...<br />

  395. Presumably because they are not (fully) valid. Certificate handling is <br />

  399. Regarding your problem, I would try to remove those cert exceptions and <br />
