  1. Start: 8 am, Saturday, Midsummer 19, 401
  2.
  3. The party spoke with Kaliero once more before departing.
  4.
  5. He mentions Gol-Galoon is a place to possibly dock in case of a severe storm. He once again cautions the Archons against the undead and 'freak weather' of the Land of Haunted Ice.
  6.
  7. Their boat is lowered down the lift. Kaliero says his goodbye with unusual solemnity. The party realize this is because he is likely going to take his own trial soon, on whether or not he becomes the next Adjudicator. Kaliero, doubtlessly understands the risks, and has prepared himself as best as he can.
  8.
  9. They questioned Kaliero about this. He seemed more or less at peace with the prospect of dying, and seemed to take it as an inevitability. Mira asked him what his last wishes of them would be, and he seemed thoughtful. Kaliero did not know, but appeared contemplative, and said he would think on the matter during their journey, and would give a list to his aide Sahil to pass on to them in the event of his demise.
  10.
  11. The party departed and headed south. On their journey, they waited out a storm. They couldn't help but notice how strangely the storm moved, as if directed by an independent volition. They realized the storm was a living spell, of sorts, which appeared to strike the ice below with bolts of negative energy. After some experimentation, they realized all forms of divination magic and all spells of the teleportation school do not function here. Tzara realized and remarked that this type of living spells are almost unheard of, and may only be found in high concentrations of undead.
  12.
  13. During the interim, Tzara remarked how this land once was possessed by the last of the frost giants, who worshipped death. They were sealed away in the forbidden south long ago. The time this occurred was near the time of the last upheaval, centuries ago. It is said the Fortisskari elves act as wardens of their tomb.
  14.
  15. Perplexed, they waited the storm out.
  16.
  17. They dropped anchor at a natural dock, not far away from Fortisskar, preparing to use the boat tokens. Their preparations were interrupted by a squad of armored wights, wielding javelins and weaponry.
  18.
  19. Luna moved to engage with the wights, flying overhead. Tzara spoke with them when they were close. Although quite convincing, the wights appeared to be unmoved by her attempt to be diplomatic. They spoke in Viszud, perplexingly, and said: You are trespassing in our ancestral lands. For this, your lives are forfeit.
  20.
  21. The spider queen convinced the wight's leader they are allies with the frost giant, which he believed wholesale. This enraged him. He commanded his troops, which he referred to as 'the lost expedition' to bring him the party's heads.
  22.
  23. They noticed a boat bearing Fortisskari elves swiftly pull up on their location. The boat itself was being hauled by a storm elemental.
  24.
  25. The wights fled the scene, and the party was boarded by the elves.
  26.
  27. Their leader, named Şartom Eluë, who was concealed by several spells, seemed to take special interest in Mira.
  28.
  29. After some discussion with Mira and the Spider Queen, he asked Mira why he should bother taking her to Fortisskar to receive her trial, to prove she is indeed Ílíshlu.
  30.
  31. He somehow seemed to know that the Spider Queen could not be Ílíshlu, based on some hidden metric. He did not know Mira is Ílíshlu, but she appeared to meet some parameters he could measure.
  32.
  33. She responded satisfactorily, and the party was taken onboard.
  34.
  35. They were ferried to the verdant island of Fortisskar, and brought to the room where their trial would take place.
  36.
  37. It appears the Fortisskari elves have taboos on touching, as the party were not touched during this process.
  38.
  39. The test was finding belongings which once belonged to Ílíshlu. Mira succeeded each of the five tests.
  40.
  41. Şartom Eluë welcomed Ilishlu home. He mentions the circlet is guarded by Ingvar the Corrupter in the Forbidden Vault in the southlands. He mentions he and a retinue of men will guide the party there, but for now, enjoy your (supervised) stay in Fortisskar.
