Fertile fields and fine vineyards abound in this eastern realm, but many are now overshadowed by the Isle of the Damned and the terrible toll in lives the vigil against it has cost. The use of ‘de’ or ‘von’ implies a recently uplift to nobility, depending on their Duchy origin.

Events of Interest

-The Saint Gabriel’s pass, the most reliable pass into the Wastelands from Montbrune, has double it's toll compare from last year for some reason. Lord Alderauge holds the pass, more of him below.

-The prince provided a group of Cathagi soldiers lead by Kyrios Militades with a Writ of Passage with his own signature not the king. Their mission to capture a Dire wolf to win the favor from the Dragon in Cathagi.
>Distractedly you inspect the writ as if you knew what to look for. You see a royal seal and clear instructions that these men be allowed to pass free of road-tax or assault, and further that their monster-hunting expedition not be interfered with.

>The Dragon reportedly made an off-hand remark that he would enjoy seeing one of the ferocious Canton creatures in his extravagant menagerie. Cathagi merchants and caste leaders alike have been slyly contacting mercenaries for months but Militades has beaten them to the punch with his direct approach.

-In the last two years two nunneries have been attack in Romaine, the Deadmen are suspected, but nothing is known for sure.

>You take the ‘another one’ to mean that another nunnery was attacked. This makes 2 in as many years, the last in winter but this one in spring. A pessimist would say that the Deadmen were getting bolder, if it is indeed them.

-There is a new Prime Serpent in the wasteland gathering strength
>According to reports from the Wastelands already 2 years old, another ‘Prime Serpent’ is quashing rival broods and threatening established settlements. Little wonder that Tracker Jean was reluctant to make the full trek to Freetown. The author’s concern that this new Prime could threaten the Törwatcher Gates is absurd of course, no Törwatcher has ever fallen to an outside force in history of the continent. Rumors and Legends
Black Sails
>There are several rumors of Black Sails sighted to the west and closer each year, the very mention of which appears to terrify seasoned sailors of Langland beyond the usual brand of pirate. The Order of Names has only collected second hand accounts from friends in the Order of the Trident and Given that all interviewees claim no one who sees a Black Sail lives to tell the tale, both you and the author are understandably critical of their veracity.(Order of Names Cartography Archives)

>Some of the older hands, those taking their ease around the khave shop rather than training pupils, recall a man who passed through here some time ago. There is some disagreement as to whether he was a true foreigner or a Langlish mix of something, but All agree that over a score of years ago the man came her, each of the masters old enough to remember him admit to having been bested in the plaza much like Giovanni was today.
>They call him Zawahiel, though whether that is his name or some sort of foreign title even they are not sure. The greying swordmasters do claim that, in addition to besting every Langlish blade set against him, this unassuming swordman of legend travelled to both Norsikaa and Cantôn in search of a worthy opponent without success. Sir Robert Gilbern of the Order Reginae
-He is the Queen’s Third Herald, we know this from an overhear conversation.

-Fat individual that serve with John Tailor(See Faction Conspiracy) in the war of the War of Borders.
-Connections with Grenoble Merchants and Moneylenders and Tracker Jean.

Lord Edmund Fitchener, Lord of Darbyshire
-Lord Edmund Fitchener is a man well past his prime, greying hair and flabby jowls explained in part by his hearty breakfast. His left leg is entirely missing from below the knee. Some say he lost his leg in a hunting accident instead of the war as he claims.
-Attempted to have Mikail whip for an altercation with his men-at-arms, resulting in our duel with Sir Kenrick Hartsvale a veteran Knight of Fallavon. Sir Nowache unwillingness to fight in the duel resulted in his dismissal from his service.
-Banditry is a prevalent issue in his lands.

Sir Heinrich Norwache of Montbrun, his heraldy is a red shield with a black chevron.
-He is the fifth youngest son in the second marriage of Lord Norwache. With no chance of succession and not even a likelihood of meaningful station in his homeland, Sir Norwache set out to make a name for himself. He squired under Brother Gaspard before his Comitas days.
-He is few years Andrei senior and has faint scars on his face, indicate he is not without experience.
-He is an old friend of Brother Gaspard of the Knight Comitas that is escorting the pilgrims with us.
-Lord Edmund Fitchener refer him as a tourney-winner.

Sir Kenrick Hartsvale, his heraldy is a black lion with red claws on yellow. In the service Lord Edmund Fitchener, Lord of Darbyshire, and also from Darbyshire. Older and not inexperienced. Similar in size to Emile and fair with the flail.

On our journey to Port Bounty we encounter Sir Guillermo de Broulert challenging passing knights on a bridge.

-Has an improve opinion of Emile following the conclusion of the Butcher of Port Bounty, granted him deputization with the Ordo Praetors.

Lord Caspian Gilbern, Lord-Protector of Port Bounty
-Father of Sir Robert Gilbern, there is a lot of bad blood between them.
-Our investigation and discoveries around the Port Bounty Butcher and the slavery ring wreak havoc on his carefully balance of favors and blackmail he had among the nobility of Port Bounty. Through Emile's carefully maneuvering or dumb luck, Lord Caspian was left impotent to stop the upheaval or even punish Emile in a very public matter.

He is on friendly terms with Emile.

Sir Bailley von Rhum. The youngest son of the previous King’s Roiguard commander (Sir Charles von Rhum known as the Red Rhum, a knight of great renown), himself a famous knight raised from the common ranks and awarded lands in Romaine, this man fell in love with the sea whilst on Errantry. He is full to the brim with stories of the high seas, from running battles with pirates to perilous weather and even encounters with sea monsters.

Giovanni Giorgio, Langland Bravo, a self-made man on the ascent. Cocky, quick-tempered and not a little ruthless.
>Kill a man in a street duel. Ranks among the Sfregiato, proven men, bravos that have fought and fight regularly.
>Bested by Emile in a friendly duel to first blood on Point Plaza/Punto Plaza.

Comitas knights Cathagi Chapter Master Tomas Callahann.
-Serves based on The Church of the Holy Juvenescence, the order chapter house for those Knights Comitas based in Cathagi.
-Has an intersting collection of artifacts and Curios
>A stuffed animal of a species that you cannot in all honestly properly describe, it has the proportions of a large dog but is shelled head-to-toe in some form of natural carapace.
>A map detailing the City and surrounding countryside, with white, black and green pins dotted across it denoting a significance that escaped it.
> A tarnished shield that bears the red gauntlet wreathed in fire, not seen since the last Crusades Adamant retook this place hundreds of years ago. Beneath it dangling from a long thin >silver chain< is a censer, an incense burner that easily double as a mace.
>Finally, you glance sideways at the glass case on the Chapter Master’s desk, framed in what appears to be a solid gold reliquary. In it on a velvet cushion rests a single dark scale, roughly the size of a human hand.



Sir Mattis van Brooksvale
>Perform the First Vigil with Emile but never talked until meeting again in the The Church of the Holy Juvenescence.
-A knight of humble origins and means, is equipped little better than common man-at-arms.
-Killed five Langlish pirates by himself while crossing the Cathagi Strait.
-Was a sergeant-at-arms until he lead a rearguard action that allow the injure Duke of Aubres to escape during the battle of Brooksvale. Was the sole survivor of the rearguard and was knight by the Duke afterwards.

Sir Conner Cedric and Sir Caden Cedric, from a minor Fallavon house
-Twin brothers with promising carries in the Royal Army, Emile meet them in the The Church of the Holy Juvenescence.
-The Sir Cedric brothers are confirmed members of the Faction.
-The are on a mission on Cathagi with the pilgrimage as a cover.
-While wary of discussing their mission further they seem are eager enough to prove themselves martially going as far as to offer their help with some foe beyond the means of a single knight.
-The are publicly and full in support of the Crown Prince.


The Noble Houses of Cantôn

-House Vancewell of Montbrun, Heraldry: Red Bull on a Yellow/Black chequered partition
>They had deals with the wastelands' snakemen in the past and is a source of animosity with House Rabe
>When you ask him about the local rivalries, especially his hatred of House Vancewell, he can only give you a localized account. He came across the neighboring Vancewell men selling a captured Pegasus to snakemen in return for a brace of Wasteland Mustangs. House Rabe deals only with the human Wasteland settlements for their horseflesh, but not all Montbrun are so discerning. The Pegasus is not the symbol of Duke Montbrun by chance. Binding a Pegasus, let alone selling one into slavery, is an act of sacrilege according to these hardy mountainfolk. These angelic horses are no ordinary beasts but have as much ken and majesty as any human king. Respect and admiration of the Pegasus is expected, their security and protection from poachers (human or snakeman) is demanded.
-Marquis Caspian Fallavon is courting Lady Frida Vancewell sister of the now deceased Hast Vancewell

-House Norveski of Romaine, Heraldry:Rampant Black Eagle on Burgundy Saltire
-There lands include Grenoble, the westernmost town of Romaine far from the reaches of Ardenne.
>Lord Norveski is an not a young man, the colour of his hair has shifted from black to silver to grey even as the hairline recedes. The man has the bearing of nobility and some vestige of his youthful strength, but you do not miss that his entourage slows their pace to match Lord Norveski.
>His family share his hawkish looks and high widows peak.

House Hewitt of Pascae
-They have come into wealth recently.

>”Interesting…” Lady Fallavon leans back and returns to watching the joust, as if to say that information was anything but. Really you can’t see why it would be. Since when is Pascae families being involved in Pascae trade something you’d tell the town crier?
*The cousin of Mademoiselle Ava Sinclair, Sir Jean Sinclair possibly knows more about it.
-Sir Marco Hewitt is the uncle of Lady Maria Hewitt a scholarly woman with an interest in Cathagi imperial artefacts. She lead us ‘Compedium of Cathagi Castes and Origins in History’ a book about their bizarre foreign caste system.

House Alderauge of Montbrun

House Sinclair of Fallavon
-Its one of the most virulently independent fiefs in the Duchy

B{a}stards of Lys, a Langlish Freeblade Company. Their patchwork cloaks are distinctly at odds with the usual billowing Lanlish fashion. Upon each of their right shoulders, sewn in to the cloth, is a depiction of a crowned female Saint shedding a single tear. There are Cantôn men in their ranks.

Axemen of Lorne, a Langlish Freeblade Company founded by an exiled Norsikaan Jarl. Their sigil is three silver axes and is know to be amongst the oldest. Apparently, every man amongst them from huscarl to halberdier or arbalest must by the rules of the Company be armed at all times with an axe, be it a great two-handed longaxe or a smaller token hatchet. The Axemen of Lorne are mostly comprised of Norsikaans.
They are operating on Northen Montbrun and we pass this information to House Rabe.

Rivals and enemies
-Sir Marco Hewitt is a sore loser over our victory in the joust.

-In the Duke's Ball he was carrying a coin with a familiar one-winged dragon emblazoned across its surface, the same design as the one in the message with the offer to betray Patrikas Ianthe in the same ball.

-Someone attempted to sabotage our shield before the melee, we have multiple witness and a description of the suspect, a dishevelled looking man wearing a green hood almost brown from mud and padded leather armour,

-It was reveal that the saboteur was Craig of Lowgrove who according to him was hire by a Langlishman or a Pascae merchant dress as one, recognizance by  Sir dan Marc, to sabotage our shield and later ambush us in the woods.
