00:00:13,414 --> 00:00:16,015
[ominous music]

2
00:00:27,728 --> 00:00:30,162
[ominous music continues]

3
00:00:52,787 --> 00:00:55,220
[Stephanie] Why do we create,

4
00:00:56,090 --> 00:00:58,424
and then destroy myths?

5
00:01:01,762 --> 00:01:04,096
Oh, come on, people.

6
00:01:04,098 --> 00:01:05,597
This is humanities.

7
00:01:05,599 --> 00:01:07,299
The study of human culture.

8
00:01:07,301 --> 00:01:09,635
The why is integral
to our understanding.

9
00:01:12,606 --> 00:01:13,739
Okay, here.

10
00:01:15,342 --> 00:01:19,178
Why do we feel compelled
to believe in the first place?

11
00:01:20,748 --> 00:01:21,814
Yeah?

12
00:01:21,816 --> 00:01:23,582
You mean, like, in God?

13
00:01:23,584 --> 00:01:24,650
Sure.

14
00:01:24,652 --> 00:01:27,286
God, gods, the devil, evil,

15
00:01:27,288 --> 00:01:29,588
anything intangible.

16
00:01:29,590 --> 00:01:32,224
God helps us understand
things we can't explain.

17
00:01:32,226 --> 00:01:33,358
Without God, we wouldn't know

18
00:01:33,360 --> 00:01:35,694
the difference
between good or evil.

19
00:01:35,696 --> 00:01:38,730
What about the 23 percent
of Americans

20
00:01:38,732 --> 00:01:41,233
who identify as Atheist?

21
00:01:41,235 --> 00:01:45,104
Surely, they are not all amoral?

22
00:01:45,106 --> 00:01:46,839
No, but just because
they don't believe,

23
00:01:46,841 --> 00:01:49,475
doesn't mean there isn't God
or the devil.

24
00:01:49,477 --> 00:01:51,710
Prove God and the devil exist.

25
00:01:53,481 --> 00:01:54,580
Faith.

26
00:01:55,216 --> 00:01:57,282
[eerie music]

27
00:02:00,187 --> 00:02:02,387
[rasping]

28
00:02:06,660 --> 00:02:08,427
[rasping continues]

29
00:02:09,763 --> 00:02:11,363
Babe?

30
00:02:11,365 --> 00:02:13,432
[rasping]

31
00:02:17,638 --> 00:02:18,737
Steph?

32
00:02:20,374 --> 00:02:21,673
[rasping]

33
00:02:23,711 --> 00:02:24,910
[rasping continues]

34
00:02:28,282 --> 00:02:29,515
Stephanie?

35
00:02:29,517 --> 00:02:31,283
[door opens]

36
00:02:34,355 --> 00:02:36,922
Babe, please come back to bed.

37
00:02:39,193 --> 00:02:41,727
[screaming]

38
00:02:51,272 --> 00:02:53,739
[Stephanie] Faith
is an admirable quality, but...

39
00:02:53,741 --> 00:02:55,407
we often have
to distort the facts

40
00:02:55,409 --> 00:02:57,176
in order to serve faith.

41
00:02:57,178 --> 00:02:58,243
Question.

42
00:02:59,413 --> 00:03:01,213
Can we have...

43
00:03:01,815 --> 00:03:03,315
faith...

44
00:03:04,418 --> 00:03:05,784
and facts?

45
00:03:10,491 --> 00:03:11,723
Yeah, Cleo.

46
00:03:11,725 --> 00:03:14,459
Well, I think it's important
to trust facts,

47
00:03:14,461 --> 00:03:18,430
but shouldn't we be open
to the possibility

48
00:03:18,432 --> 00:03:20,866
that there might be
something else?

49
00:03:20,868 --> 00:03:23,202
-Like myth?
-Yeah, sure.

50
00:03:23,204 --> 00:03:24,970
Then, why the need
to destroy it?

51
00:03:28,842 --> 00:03:31,310
[eerie music]

52
00:03:43,958 --> 00:03:46,458
[eerie music intensifies]

53
00:03:49,330 --> 00:03:51,797
[Cleo] By destroying
what we create,

54
00:03:51,799 --> 00:03:55,434
perhaps we're all evolving
beyond myth.

55
00:03:55,436 --> 00:03:58,670
You know, beyond God
and the devil.

56
00:03:58,672 --> 00:04:00,305
Humanity is waking up
to the fact

57
00:04:00,307 --> 00:04:02,274
that we just
don't need them anymore.

58
00:04:02,710 --> 00:04:03,942
Exactly.

59
00:04:04,578 --> 00:04:06,478
[thumps]

60
00:04:06,480 --> 00:04:08,714
[foreboding music]

61
00:04:11,352 --> 00:04:12,684
[sheet rustling]

62
00:04:18,626 --> 00:04:20,692
[ominous music]

63
00:04:36,043 --> 00:04:38,377
[ominous music intensifies]

64
00:04:41,882 --> 00:04:43,682
And if that's the case,

65
00:04:43,684 --> 00:04:44,850
I'm afraid there's nothing

66
00:04:44,852 --> 00:04:47,452
that God or the devil
can do about it.

67
00:04:48,289 --> 00:04:49,888
[class chuckles]

68
00:04:52,893 --> 00:04:54,426
-[Cleo] Professor Hancock.
-[Stephanie] Yeah?

69
00:04:57,798 --> 00:05:00,499
Oh! Oh, uh...

70
00:05:00,501 --> 00:05:02,934
[nervous chuckle]
Okay, uh, class dismissed.

71
00:05:05,572 --> 00:05:07,639
[ominous music]

72
00:05:22,456 --> 00:05:25,691
[ominous music intensifies]

73
00:05:32,800 --> 00:05:33,999
[bone cracks]

74
00:05:46,814 --> 00:05:49,348
[eerie music]

75
00:06:05,899 --> 00:06:08,367
["Draining"
by Silversun Pickups plays]

76
00:06:24,618 --> 00:06:26,852
[brakes squeaking]

77
00:06:28,822 --> 00:06:30,956
[hydraulic door hisses]

78
00:06:35,062 --> 00:06:38,764
¶ You ask me
To be stoned again ¶

79
00:06:38,766 --> 00:06:39,831
[sighs]

80
00:06:42,536 --> 00:06:46,805
¶ Been waiting out here
For a while ¶

81
00:06:49,977 --> 00:06:54,446
¶ At least the wait
Could be the end ¶

82
00:06:57,418 --> 00:07:02,087
¶ But not likely ¶

83
00:07:02,089 --> 00:07:05,457
[Stephanie] It's a creepy tree
off of Buckout Road.

84
00:07:05,459 --> 00:07:07,058
And, and then I wake up.

85
00:07:07,060 --> 00:07:08,794
-[Lawrence] You wake up?
-Yes, I wake up.

86
00:07:08,796 --> 00:07:11,496
Yesterday, I woke up
on my neighbor's lawn.

87
00:07:11,498 --> 00:07:13,965
Something terrible
is going to happen.

88
00:07:13,967 --> 00:07:15,467
I think I'm being punished.

89
00:07:15,469 --> 00:07:16,902
[Lawrence]
What do you mean "punished"?

90
00:07:16,904 --> 00:07:18,870
I am going to die.

91
00:07:18,872 --> 00:07:19,938
[remote clicks]

92
00:07:22,109 --> 00:07:23,475
[sharp exhale]

93
00:07:24,711 --> 00:07:26,445
That was four days ago.

94
00:07:26,447 --> 00:07:27,512
[Harris] Hmm.

95
00:07:29,850 --> 00:07:32,884
Well, you're the psychiatrist.
What's your diagnosis?

96
00:07:33,554 --> 00:07:35,053
It's my opinion

97
00:07:35,055 --> 00:07:37,689
that Stephanie was suffering
from schizophrenia.

98
00:07:37,691 --> 00:07:39,258
Mm-hm.

99
00:07:39,259 --> 00:07:40,826
Just to be thorough,
I'll review all of her files

100
00:07:40,828 --> 00:07:43,094
and come back
with an official diagnosis.

101
00:07:45,466 --> 00:07:47,599
-I appreciate it, Lawrence.
-Yeah.

102
00:07:48,635 --> 00:07:50,469
[clears throat]

103
00:07:50,471 --> 00:07:52,237
-[Lawrence] You okay?
-Yeah, I'm fine.

104
00:07:55,609 --> 00:07:56,808
Hmm.

105
00:07:58,545 --> 00:08:00,846
Hey, Lawrence, hold up.

106
00:08:00,848 --> 00:08:03,849
I'm sorry if I was rude
in there.

107
00:08:03,851 --> 00:08:09,054
Cleo is taking her
teacher's death pretty hard.

108
00:08:09,056 --> 00:08:12,023
Look, I, I know
it's been a few years,

109
00:08:12,025 --> 00:08:13,625
uh, but do you think
maybe you could--

110
00:08:13,627 --> 00:08:14,926
Bring Cleo by tomorrow.

111
00:08:14,928 --> 00:08:16,695
-We'll have a chat.
-Thanks.

112
00:08:16,697 --> 00:08:18,597
[Lawrence]
Okay, my pleasure. Okay?

113
00:08:18,599 --> 00:08:19,831
-[Harris] Okay.
-[Lawrence] All right.

114
00:08:19,833 --> 00:08:22,200
Oh, hey, uh, how's, uh,
how's Aaron doing?

115
00:08:22,202 --> 00:08:23,735
He's due back soon, isn't he?

116
00:08:26,039 --> 00:08:27,138
Shit.

117
00:08:31,245 --> 00:08:33,512
[car approaching]

118
00:08:38,919 --> 00:08:41,753
[Lawrence] Hey,
I'm so sorry, Aaron.

119
00:08:41,755 --> 00:08:43,188
I was at the police station.

120
00:08:43,190 --> 00:08:45,223
-[car beeps]
-Police station already?

121
00:08:45,225 --> 00:08:47,192
Wow, I just got here.

122
00:08:47,194 --> 00:08:48,760
[Lawrence pants]

123
00:08:48,762 --> 00:08:50,562
[Lawrence]
Were you waiting long?

124
00:08:50,564 --> 00:08:52,564
You tell me. What time were you
supposed to pick me up?

125
00:08:52,566 --> 00:08:54,199
[Lawrence grunts]

126
00:08:54,201 --> 00:08:55,534
Unbelievable.

127
00:09:00,107 --> 00:09:02,274
[tranquil music]

128
00:09:16,323 --> 00:09:17,722
[Aaron sighs]

129
00:09:18,559 --> 00:09:19,858
[Lawrence] All settled in?

130
00:09:21,261 --> 00:09:22,594
Yeah.

131
00:09:23,797 --> 00:09:24,963
Hmm.

132
00:09:25,766 --> 00:09:27,232
Oh, yes. Well...

133
00:09:31,171 --> 00:09:33,638
[retreating footsteps]

134
00:09:43,850 --> 00:09:45,283
[utensils clanking]

135
00:09:47,888 --> 00:09:49,120
[Lawrence] Slow down.

136
00:09:50,824 --> 00:09:52,157
Chew your food.

137
00:09:56,964 --> 00:09:59,331
You're mad at me
because I didn't pick you up?

138
00:09:59,333 --> 00:10:00,632
Is that it?

139
00:10:03,904 --> 00:10:06,037
No, I'm mad
because I totally saw it coming.

140
00:10:09,209 --> 00:10:10,642
[sighs]

141
00:10:10,644 --> 00:10:12,177
Well, hmm...

142
00:10:13,380 --> 00:10:15,146
You have something to say?

143
00:10:18,118 --> 00:10:20,151
Then say it.

144
00:10:20,153 --> 00:10:22,120
I'm not one of your patients,
Dr. Powell.

145
00:10:27,894 --> 00:10:29,160
All right.

146
00:10:29,162 --> 00:10:30,395
On my five-and-a-half-mile walk

147
00:10:30,397 --> 00:10:31,730
from the bus station
to the house,

148
00:10:31,732 --> 00:10:32,864
I had plenty of time to think.

149
00:10:34,301 --> 00:10:37,035
And the only question
I find myself asking is,

150
00:10:37,037 --> 00:10:39,070
"Why the hell am I here?"

151
00:10:39,072 --> 00:10:41,423
[Aaron] Ever since I was a kid,

152
00:10:41,424 --> 00:10:43,775
from boarding school,
to college, to NPS,

153
00:10:45,979 --> 00:10:48,179
I've never been more
than an afterthought to you.

154
00:10:49,983 --> 00:10:51,149
And I thought that,

155
00:10:51,151 --> 00:10:52,651
maybe once,

156
00:10:52,653 --> 00:10:53,852
you'd put me first,

157
00:10:54,821 --> 00:10:56,154
and not just put me away.

158
00:11:00,260 --> 00:11:01,660
Sit down.

159
00:11:05,899 --> 00:11:06,998
Now.

160
00:11:12,105 --> 00:11:13,738
[Lawrence]
You could have easily called.

161
00:11:16,443 --> 00:11:18,143
You could have taken a cab.

162
00:11:18,812 --> 00:11:20,979
But no.

163
00:11:20,981 --> 00:11:23,848
You need a reason to be angry
with me your whole life.

164
00:11:24,918 --> 00:11:26,685
And I'm sympathetic to that.

165
00:11:28,288 --> 00:11:30,021
But you need
to remember something.

166
00:11:31,391 --> 00:11:33,391
The night you lost your parents,

167
00:11:34,895 --> 00:11:36,828
I lost my only daughter.

168
00:11:38,465 --> 00:11:40,365
When you came to live here,

169
00:11:40,367 --> 00:11:45,036
my job, from that moment on,
was to do everything in my power

170
00:11:45,038 --> 00:11:47,305
to ensure that you grew up

171
00:11:47,307 --> 00:11:51,076
to be a strong, independent,
well-adjusted man.

172
00:11:53,046 --> 00:11:55,980
And now,
you're gonna leave my table,

173
00:11:55,982 --> 00:11:59,084
and accuse me of disrespect.

174
00:12:03,757 --> 00:12:05,890
It seems like
I still have work to do.

175
00:12:09,896 --> 00:12:11,963
[dramatic music]

176
00:12:17,204 --> 00:12:19,237
[knocking on door]

177
00:12:21,908 --> 00:12:23,041
Uh...

178
00:12:23,977 --> 00:12:25,110
[soft chuckle]

179
00:12:25,112 --> 00:12:26,978
Dr. Powell didn't move, did he?

180
00:12:26,980 --> 00:12:28,880
No, he's here. Come in.

181
00:12:30,016 --> 00:12:31,316
I'm his grandson.

182
00:12:36,223 --> 00:12:37,422
Cleo.

183
00:12:38,058 --> 00:12:39,824
Ah, you ready?

184
00:12:40,794 --> 00:12:42,026
[Cleo clears throat]

185
00:12:51,304 --> 00:12:53,404
[birds chirping]

186
00:12:53,406 --> 00:12:55,073
[door creaks open]

187
00:13:09,489 --> 00:13:11,990
Kant. Seems a little ironic,
given the whole

188
00:13:11,992 --> 00:13:14,492
"soldiers having to take orders
for a living" thing.

189
00:13:17,330 --> 00:13:19,197
I don't know.

190
00:13:19,198 --> 00:13:21,065
I think it's important
to examine cause and effect

191
00:13:21,067 --> 00:13:23,067
without relying solely
on empirical knowledge

192
00:13:23,069 --> 00:13:25,436
and analytical reasoning,
don't you?

193
00:13:25,438 --> 00:13:27,338
Philosophy jokes,
I see how it is.

194
00:13:27,340 --> 00:13:29,174
[Aaron chuckles]

195
00:13:29,176 --> 00:13:30,341
I'm Aaron.

196
00:13:30,877 --> 00:13:31,976
Cleo.

197
00:13:33,280 --> 00:13:34,546
So that's your major?

198
00:13:34,548 --> 00:13:35,814
Double major
in religious studies

199
00:13:35,816 --> 00:13:37,048
and philosophy.

200
00:13:37,050 --> 00:13:39,484
I did it to piss off
my grandfather.

201
00:13:39,486 --> 00:13:41,253
[Cleo] Wow.

202
00:13:41,254 --> 00:13:43,021
I think Freud might have
something to say about that.

203
00:13:45,158 --> 00:13:46,925
[Aaron] So how long
have you been seeing

204
00:13:46,927 --> 00:13:48,193
the great Dr. Powell?

205
00:13:50,497 --> 00:13:51,563
I'm sorry.

206
00:13:51,565 --> 00:13:53,031
That's none of my business.

207
00:13:53,033 --> 00:13:55,233
-I was just--
-[Cleo] Dude, relax, it's fine.

208
00:13:55,235 --> 00:13:56,601
Your grandfather was my shrink

209
00:13:56,603 --> 00:13:59,437
back when my mother died
five years ago.

210
00:13:59,439 --> 00:14:03,041
Been having these
really weird nightmares.

211
00:14:03,043 --> 00:14:06,945
Sorry, I don't want to make you
feel uncomfortable or anything.

212
00:14:06,947 --> 00:14:08,446
I mean,
I know that we're veering

213
00:14:08,448 --> 00:14:10,882
into a union thing here,
and well,

214
00:14:10,884 --> 00:14:12,450
your Kantian brain
might not be able

215
00:14:12,452 --> 00:14:14,953
to grasp what's happening, so...

216
00:14:14,955 --> 00:14:18,056
Hey, uh, would you ever
want to get coffee,

217
00:14:18,058 --> 00:14:20,358
-[car approaching]
-or dinner?

218
00:14:20,360 --> 00:14:21,426
[siren whoops]

219
00:14:21,428 --> 00:14:23,328
[Harris]
Cleo, in the car, please.

220
00:14:25,498 --> 00:14:26,865
Is that your dad?

221
00:14:27,400 --> 00:14:28,900
Sadly.

222
00:14:29,269 --> 00:14:30,368
See ya.

223
00:14:33,907 --> 00:14:35,106
Seriously, Dad?

224
00:14:36,343 --> 00:14:37,642
[car door opens]

225
00:14:37,644 --> 00:14:38,910
[car door closes]

226
00:14:38,912 --> 00:14:40,011
[Harris] Seatbelt.

227
00:14:43,083 --> 00:14:45,083
[engine revs]

228
00:14:51,658 --> 00:14:53,591
[Cleo] Next thing I know,

229
00:14:53,593 --> 00:14:56,361
I'm being tied at the stake
with kindling at my feet.

230
00:14:57,931 --> 00:14:59,364
And then I wake up.

231
00:15:01,668 --> 00:15:03,434
[Lawrence] Do you know where
they take you?

232
00:15:05,138 --> 00:15:06,337
[Cleo] Yeah.

233
00:15:07,507 --> 00:15:09,173
A clearing off of Buckout Road.

234
00:15:11,444 --> 00:15:12,677
[Lawrence] Are you afraid?

235
00:15:15,916 --> 00:15:17,115
Terrified.

236
00:15:18,051 --> 00:15:19,150
[beeps]

237
00:15:19,152 --> 00:15:20,485
[audio rewinding]

238
00:15:20,487 --> 00:15:21,986
[beeps]

239
00:15:21,988 --> 00:15:23,621
A clearing off of Buckout Road.

240
00:15:26,259 --> 00:15:27,625
[Lawrence] Are you afraid?

241
00:15:30,397 --> 00:15:31,562
Terrified.

242
00:15:33,600 --> 00:15:35,033
[Aaron] Hey, Grandpa.

243
00:15:36,002 --> 00:15:37,468
Uh, Aaron...

244
00:15:38,471 --> 00:15:40,104
[clicks]

245
00:15:40,106 --> 00:15:42,106
What is it?

246
00:15:42,107 --> 00:15:44,107
I'm, I'm just going to bed,
I just wanted to let you know.

247
00:15:45,645 --> 00:15:47,045
Okay.

248
00:15:47,480 --> 00:15:48,546
Ah.

249
00:15:48,548 --> 00:15:50,315
[Lawrence] Hey, Aaron.

250
00:15:50,317 --> 00:15:52,050
I'm glad that you're home, son.

251
00:15:52,953 --> 00:15:54,152
[chuckles]

252
00:15:59,426 --> 00:16:00,959
[sighs]

253
00:16:03,196 --> 00:16:05,396
[dramatic music]

254
00:16:31,257 --> 00:16:33,491
[dramatic music continues]

255
00:16:46,306 --> 00:16:48,106
[grunts]

256
00:16:52,545 --> 00:16:54,045
[sighs]

257
00:16:58,518 --> 00:17:00,184
[exhales softly]

258
00:17:03,656 --> 00:17:06,157
[distant siren wailing]

259
00:17:06,159 --> 00:17:07,392
[Lawrence] Thank you.

260
00:17:10,363 --> 00:17:11,596
Hey.

261
00:17:13,033 --> 00:17:14,098
Hello?

262
00:17:14,100 --> 00:17:15,166
[Cheryl]
Oh, hey there, Dr. Powell.

263
00:17:15,168 --> 00:17:16,234
What can I do for you?

264
00:17:16,236 --> 00:17:17,502
Hey, Cheryl.

265
00:17:17,504 --> 00:17:19,037
I'm, I'm looking for Roy.
Is he here?

266
00:17:19,039 --> 00:17:20,689
Um, no, sir.

267
00:17:20,690 --> 00:17:22,340
Responded to a call out
at Buckout Road.

268
00:17:23,076 --> 00:17:24,308
-Really?
-Mm-hm.

269
00:17:24,310 --> 00:17:25,410
Couple kids messing around

270
00:17:25,412 --> 00:17:27,445
at the Stephanie Hancock
crime scene.

271
00:17:27,447 --> 00:17:29,280
I swear, there's just not enough
on television

272
00:17:29,282 --> 00:17:31,582
-to keep some people occupied.
-Mm-hm.

273
00:17:31,584 --> 00:17:33,484
Well, just tell him
I stopped by, okay?

274
00:17:33,486 --> 00:17:35,253
Oh. You can tell him yourself.

275
00:17:35,255 --> 00:17:36,754
[Erik] Please, man. Please, man,
we're the victims here.

276
00:17:36,756 --> 00:17:38,322
[Derek] We didn't do anything.

277
00:17:38,324 --> 00:17:39,490
[both] We wanna make
our phone call.

278
00:17:39,492 --> 00:17:43,127
Will you two,
please, shut the hell up!

279
00:17:43,129 --> 00:17:44,195
Hey, Lawrence.

280
00:17:44,197 --> 00:17:45,530
-Bad time?
-Oh.

281
00:17:46,266 --> 00:17:47,565
Ganzer boys.

282
00:17:47,567 --> 00:17:49,734
Loitering at the
Stephanie Hancock crime scene.

283
00:17:51,371 --> 00:17:53,204
Idiots were sleeping
under the tree,

284
00:17:53,206 --> 00:17:55,640
right inside the yellow tape.

285
00:17:55,642 --> 00:17:57,575
Hey, why don't you
give Caroline a call.

286
00:17:57,577 --> 00:18:00,344
I'm sure she's worried sick.

287
00:18:00,346 --> 00:18:02,346
What can I do for you,
Dr. Powell?

288
00:18:04,250 --> 00:18:05,383
[Harris] Lawrence?

289
00:18:08,621 --> 00:18:10,188
You mind if I talk to them?

290
00:18:10,190 --> 00:18:11,489
[phone ringing]

291
00:18:11,491 --> 00:18:14,759
Yeah, sure, sure.
I'm not gonna process.

292
00:18:14,761 --> 00:18:16,427
Just hold them here
until their mother comes.

293
00:18:16,429 --> 00:18:18,129
Hopefully, scare some sense
into them.

294
00:18:18,131 --> 00:18:19,363
Come on back.

295
00:18:21,868 --> 00:18:23,134
We want our phone call.

296
00:18:23,136 --> 00:18:25,103
We're entitled to a phone call.

297
00:18:25,105 --> 00:18:26,471
You haven't been arrested...

298
00:18:27,440 --> 00:18:29,173
yet.

299
00:18:29,175 --> 00:18:31,142
[Lawrence]
I'm Dr. Lawrence Powell.

300
00:18:31,144 --> 00:18:32,510
I'm a psychiatrist.

301
00:18:32,512 --> 00:18:34,345
We're not crazy.
Is that what you think?

302
00:18:34,347 --> 00:18:35,680
Dude, we're not crazy.

303
00:18:35,682 --> 00:18:37,515
Nobody's saying you're crazy.

304
00:18:37,517 --> 00:18:39,183
Twins, right?

305
00:18:39,185 --> 00:18:40,251
[both] Fraternal.

306
00:18:40,253 --> 00:18:41,819
What were you doing
at this tree?

307
00:18:41,821 --> 00:18:43,287
We just woke up there.

308
00:18:43,289 --> 00:18:44,455
You fell asleep there?

309
00:18:44,457 --> 00:18:46,457
No, we woke up there.

310
00:18:46,459 --> 00:18:48,259
Sleepwalking?

311
00:18:48,261 --> 00:18:49,327
[Erik] Yeah.

312
00:18:50,263 --> 00:18:52,597
Tell me about the sleepwalking.

313
00:18:52,599 --> 00:18:54,732
Well, it's, uh, it's when you
fall asleep in one place,

314
00:18:54,734 --> 00:18:56,601
-wake up in another.
-[thwacks]

315
00:18:56,603 --> 00:18:57,802
[Maitland]
You and Tweedledum here

316
00:18:57,804 --> 00:18:59,871
compromised
an active crime scene.

317
00:18:59,873 --> 00:19:01,506
You think
we can't smell the weed

318
00:19:01,508 --> 00:19:02,840
seeping out of your pores?

319
00:19:04,210 --> 00:19:07,145
Look, okay, okay,
we, we got high and...

320
00:19:07,147 --> 00:19:08,846
we went to sleep at our house.

321
00:19:10,150 --> 00:19:11,316
We had a nightmare

322
00:19:11,317 --> 00:19:12,483
and we woke up under
that gnarly tree.

323
00:19:12,485 --> 00:19:13,551
That's the truth.

324
00:19:13,553 --> 00:19:14,819
You both had nightmares?

325
00:19:14,821 --> 00:19:16,220
[both] A nightmare.

326
00:19:16,222 --> 00:19:17,488
Tell me about it.

327
00:19:21,828 --> 00:19:23,494
It's the 1970's

328
00:19:23,496 --> 00:19:26,497
and we're driving
down Buckout Road.

329
00:19:26,499 --> 00:19:28,666
["Highway Star"
by Deep Purple playing]

330
00:19:39,546 --> 00:19:40,778
¶ Nobody can... ¶

331
00:19:40,780 --> 00:19:41,913
-[music stops]
-[engine shuts off]

332
00:19:42,515 --> 00:19:44,582
[ominous music]

333
00:19:45,251 --> 00:19:46,450
Do it, man.

334
00:19:52,592 --> 00:19:54,058
[sighs]

335
00:19:54,059 --> 00:19:55,525
If you do it,
I'll make it worth your while.

336
00:19:57,463 --> 00:19:59,730
[upbeat music]

337
00:20:00,600 --> 00:20:01,732
[belt clinks]

338
00:20:02,902 --> 00:20:04,368
[Harris] Okay, all right.

339
00:20:04,370 --> 00:20:06,470
That's, that's enough.
[scoffs]

340
00:20:06,472 --> 00:20:07,805
But you wanted to hear it.

341
00:20:07,807 --> 00:20:09,740
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You honk the horn three times,

342
00:20:09,742 --> 00:20:11,709
and crazy albinos come out
and they eat you.

343
00:20:11,711 --> 00:20:13,511
Everybody around here
knows that story.

344
00:20:13,513 --> 00:20:14,979
Go on, Erik.

345
00:20:14,981 --> 00:20:16,247
Uh, Derek.

346
00:20:16,249 --> 00:20:17,315
[slaps]

347
00:20:17,317 --> 00:20:18,382
-Dude!
-Just...

348
00:20:19,252 --> 00:20:20,851
skip the hand job.

349
00:20:23,957 --> 00:20:25,756
[horn honking]

350
00:20:29,662 --> 00:20:31,729
[ominous music]

351
00:20:35,602 --> 00:20:37,935
[laughs]

352
00:20:40,840 --> 00:20:42,440
Okay.

353
00:20:42,442 --> 00:20:43,741
I gotta take a leak.

354
00:20:45,812 --> 00:20:47,311
[grunts]

355
00:20:48,581 --> 00:20:49,647
[car door closes]

356
00:21:00,360 --> 00:21:01,692
I think I'm gonna go too.

357
00:21:02,795 --> 00:21:05,496
[eerie music]

358
00:21:05,498 --> 00:21:06,564
[car door closes]

359
00:21:06,966 --> 00:21:08,032
[Derek] Hm.

360
00:21:10,403 --> 00:21:11,936
[trickling]

361
00:21:12,972 --> 00:21:14,472
[Becky] Erik?

362
00:21:17,343 --> 00:21:18,576
Erik?

363
00:21:19,812 --> 00:21:20,978
Where are you?

364
00:21:21,681 --> 00:21:22,913
I'm back here!

365
00:21:24,317 --> 00:21:25,383
[twig snaps]

366
00:21:25,385 --> 00:21:27,652
[suspenseful music]

367
00:21:30,356 --> 00:21:32,390
Erik?

368
00:21:32,392 --> 00:21:33,858
Where are they?
I'm getting scared.

369
00:21:33,860 --> 00:21:35,960
-[growls]
-[screams]

370
00:21:37,563 --> 00:21:39,363
I can't see you!

371
00:21:41,034 --> 00:21:42,667
-[loud thwack]
-[gasps]

372
00:21:43,002 --> 00:21:44,368
[groans]

373
00:21:49,942 --> 00:21:51,442
[Christine screams]

374
00:21:51,444 --> 00:21:52,677
[scythe pierces flesh]

375
00:21:56,649 --> 00:21:58,749
[squelching]

376
00:22:03,956 --> 00:22:05,323
-[Erik] Where are the girls?
-[Derek] Dude!

377
00:22:05,325 --> 00:22:06,891
We have to go now!

378
00:22:06,893 --> 00:22:09,360
-[tires screech]
-[engine revs]

379
00:22:14,901 --> 00:22:17,034
[Derek]
And that's when we woke up.

380
00:22:17,036 --> 00:22:18,703
You expect me to buy
for one second

381
00:22:18,705 --> 00:22:19,837
that you two stoners

382
00:22:19,839 --> 00:22:21,939
had the same
'80s slasher movie dream?

383
00:22:21,941 --> 00:22:23,007
'70s.

384
00:22:23,009 --> 00:22:24,742
-[slaps]
-[Derek groans]

385
00:22:24,744 --> 00:22:26,811
All right.

386
00:22:26,812 --> 00:22:28,879
If I catch either of you two
at that tree again,

387
00:22:28,881 --> 00:22:31,615
I'm going to arrest you
for criminal trespass.

388
00:22:31,617 --> 00:22:32,683
Do you understand?

389
00:22:33,820 --> 00:22:35,353
[Maitland] All right, come on.

390
00:22:35,355 --> 00:22:36,954
Let's go. Move it out.

391
00:22:41,561 --> 00:22:42,727
Come on, let's go.

392
00:22:44,430 --> 00:22:45,496
[door closes]

393
00:22:45,498 --> 00:22:47,582
[Lawrence] Interesting.

394
00:22:47,583 --> 00:22:49,667
Now, what did you want
to talk to me about?

395
00:22:49,669 --> 00:22:52,536
Uh, it'll keep.

396
00:22:52,538 --> 00:22:55,740
Oh, the Stephanie Hancock file,
can I close that?

397
00:22:55,742 --> 00:22:57,541
Uh, give me one more day.

398
00:22:59,712 --> 00:23:01,112
I wanna be thorough.

399
00:23:07,854 --> 00:23:09,420
[sighs deeply]

400
00:23:09,422 --> 00:23:11,756
[tense music]

401
00:23:11,758 --> 00:23:14,058
[Lawrence]  Do you know
where they take you?

402
00:23:14,060 --> 00:23:16,460
[Cleo] Clearing off
of Buckout Road.

403
00:23:16,462 --> 00:23:19,397
[Stephanie] Something terrible
is going to happen.

404
00:23:19,399 --> 00:23:21,132
I think I'm being punished.

405
00:23:21,134 --> 00:23:22,550
[Derek] We had a nightmare

406
00:23:22,551 --> 00:23:23,967
and woke up under
that gnarly tree.

407
00:23:27,807 --> 00:23:29,573
[clattering]

408
00:23:54,434 --> 00:23:55,800
[Lawrence sighs]

409
00:24:03,543 --> 00:24:05,609
[ominous music]

410
00:24:13,152 --> 00:24:15,119
[brakes squeaking]

411
00:24:28,000 --> 00:24:29,467
[answering machine beeps]

412
00:24:29,468 --> 00:24:30,935
[Lawrence] Hello,
this is Lawrence Powell.

413
00:24:30,937 --> 00:24:33,137
I was hoping we could meet.

414
00:24:33,139 --> 00:24:35,673
I'll be stopping by this evening
if you're available.

415
00:24:35,675 --> 00:24:38,008
Take care now. Bye.

416
00:24:38,778 --> 00:24:40,845
[ominous music]

417
00:24:48,521 --> 00:24:50,988
[high-pitched ringing]

418
00:24:50,990 --> 00:24:53,224
[suspenseful music]

419
00:24:55,194 --> 00:24:57,228
[Lawrence] The night you lost
your parents...

420
00:24:57,230 --> 00:24:59,029
[flame crackling]

421
00:25:00,500 --> 00:25:02,566
[foreboding music]

422
00:25:05,104 --> 00:25:07,004
[engine revving]

423
00:25:08,641 --> 00:25:10,708
[suspenseful music]

424
00:25:11,544 --> 00:25:12,610
[squelches]

425
00:25:16,682 --> 00:25:18,549
[Lawrence] Aaron.

426
00:25:18,551 --> 00:25:20,017
I'm glad you're home, son.

427
00:25:20,620 --> 00:25:22,119
[shrieks]

428
00:25:22,121 --> 00:25:23,621
[phone ringing]

429
00:25:31,697 --> 00:25:33,831
[ringing continues]

430
00:25:33,833 --> 00:25:35,900
[suspenseful music]

431
00:25:38,538 --> 00:25:39,603
[Harris] Aaron.

432
00:25:40,306 --> 00:25:42,306
It's, uh, it's Roy Harris.

433
00:25:43,175 --> 00:25:44,241
Um...

434
00:25:44,243 --> 00:25:48,045
[overlapping radio chatter]

435
00:25:48,047 --> 00:25:49,980
I'm afraid there's been
an accident.

436
00:25:51,250 --> 00:25:53,150
[distant siren wailing]

437
00:25:58,925 --> 00:26:00,591
I, I'm so sorry.

438
00:26:03,930 --> 00:26:06,096
[ominous music]

439
00:26:17,209 --> 00:26:19,343
[sirens wailing in distance]

440
00:26:23,616 --> 00:26:25,583
[somber music]

441
00:26:37,797 --> 00:26:38,862
Thank you.

442
00:26:39,865 --> 00:26:41,999
[Harris] He was a good man, son.

443
00:26:44,737 --> 00:26:45,970
[Cleo] I'm so sorry.

444
00:26:46,672 --> 00:26:47,838
Thank you.

445
00:26:52,745 --> 00:26:55,145
[somber music]

446
00:27:27,747 --> 00:27:29,146
[sighs]

447
00:27:35,121 --> 00:27:36,504
[TV turns on]

448
00:27:36,505 --> 00:27:37,888
[Lawrence]
Tell me about these dreams.

449
00:27:38,758 --> 00:27:40,958
The dream is fragmented.

450
00:27:44,697 --> 00:27:46,130
I'm in this room

451
00:27:47,900 --> 00:27:50,768
with two other girls,
just... waiting.

452
00:27:50,770 --> 00:27:52,987
[Lawrence]
Do you recognize these girls?

453
00:27:52,988 --> 00:27:55,205
No, but in the dream I know
they are my sisters.

454
00:27:55,207 --> 00:27:56,974
[Cleo] Then suddenly
we're pulled out.

455
00:27:56,976 --> 00:27:58,242
[Lawrence] And then?

456
00:27:58,244 --> 00:27:59,777
And then I wake up.

457
00:28:02,148 --> 00:28:03,847
Do you know where they take you?

458
00:28:09,321 --> 00:28:10,504
A clearing off of Buckout Road.

459
00:28:10,505 --> 00:28:11,688
[Lawrence] I want to talk
about your mother for a moment.

460
00:28:13,392 --> 00:28:14,825
Five years.

461
00:28:18,230 --> 00:28:19,797
Next week, yeah.

462
00:28:19,799 --> 00:28:21,365
[Lawrence]
How do you feel about that?

463
00:28:22,835 --> 00:28:24,234
I really miss her.

464
00:28:30,109 --> 00:28:32,242
[suspenseful music]

465
00:28:32,244 --> 00:28:34,078
[heavy breathing]

466
00:28:38,918 --> 00:28:39,983
Grandpa?

467
00:28:45,825 --> 00:28:46,890
[doorknob clicks]

468
00:28:46,892 --> 00:28:49,426
[door creaking]

469
00:29:01,507 --> 00:29:04,274
[eerie music]

470
00:29:04,276 --> 00:29:05,342
[heavy breathing]

471
00:29:14,053 --> 00:29:16,220
[eerie music continues]

472
00:29:24,430 --> 00:29:26,797
[eerie music intensifies]

473
00:29:31,170 --> 00:29:32,236
[Aaron sighs]

474
00:29:55,294 --> 00:29:57,528
[foreboding music]

475
00:30:09,875 --> 00:30:11,508
[birds cawing]

476
00:30:16,048 --> 00:30:18,182
[foreboding music]

477
00:30:44,577 --> 00:30:46,176
[door opens]

478
00:30:46,879 --> 00:30:48,011
[door closes]

479
00:30:51,984 --> 00:30:53,250
From the book of Job.

480
00:30:54,253 --> 00:30:56,086
"As long as my breath is in me,

481
00:30:56,088 --> 00:30:58,889
and the Spirit of God
is in my nostrils,

482
00:30:58,891 --> 00:31:00,991
my lips will not
speak falsehood."

483
00:31:00,993 --> 00:31:03,627
"And my tongue
will not utter deceit."

484
00:31:03,629 --> 00:31:05,229
Good verse.

485
00:31:05,231 --> 00:31:06,964
My grandfather loved Job.

486
00:31:08,901 --> 00:31:11,301
He called him the best bet
God has ever made.

487
00:31:11,303 --> 00:31:13,070
Are you a man of faith?

488
00:31:13,072 --> 00:31:14,137
No.

489
00:31:15,074 --> 00:31:17,658
I'm more of a pragmatist.

490
00:31:17,659 --> 00:31:20,243
Uh-huh. But who hath put wisdom
in the inward parts?

491
00:31:20,246 --> 00:31:22,379
And given understanding
to the mind?

492
00:31:24,550 --> 00:31:25,983
Point taken.

493
00:31:25,985 --> 00:31:27,351
How can I help you?

494
00:31:31,056 --> 00:31:33,257
I haven't been here in years.

495
00:31:33,259 --> 00:31:35,092
[Aaron] This was
my grandfather's church.

496
00:31:36,528 --> 00:31:38,161
[Mike] Welcome back.

497
00:31:38,163 --> 00:31:39,529
What's your grandfather's name?

498
00:31:40,232 --> 00:31:41,431
Pastor Powell.

499
00:31:41,433 --> 00:31:42,599
Lawrence Powell?

500
00:31:43,569 --> 00:31:44,635
You knew him?

501
00:31:44,637 --> 00:31:47,104
I never met the man.

502
00:31:47,106 --> 00:31:49,273
He'd left the church
before I took over this parish.

503
00:31:49,275 --> 00:31:51,508
But he called here last week,
left a message,

504
00:31:51,510 --> 00:31:53,277
said he was going to drop by,
but didn't show.

505
00:31:54,947 --> 00:31:56,046
I don't mean to be insensitive,

506
00:31:56,048 --> 00:31:58,649
but, I understand
he lost the faith.

507
00:32:02,221 --> 00:32:04,588
After my mother died,
my grandfather decided to...

508
00:32:05,557 --> 00:32:07,424
practice psychiatry full time.

509
00:32:07,426 --> 00:32:09,960
Oh. How is Dr. Powell?

510
00:32:12,097 --> 00:32:13,163
He's dead.

511
00:32:14,967 --> 00:32:16,266
I am so sorry.

512
00:32:21,140 --> 00:32:22,673
[exhales sharply]

513
00:32:22,675 --> 00:32:25,375
Seems like you are searching
for something.

514
00:32:25,377 --> 00:32:27,377
I just feel like
I hardly knew the man.

515
00:32:28,647 --> 00:32:30,981
When God takes those we love,

516
00:32:32,051 --> 00:32:35,152
we're often confused and angry.

517
00:32:38,657 --> 00:32:40,657
It's a clarion call to action.

518
00:32:42,294 --> 00:32:44,294
Keep searching.

519
00:32:44,296 --> 00:32:46,530
I believe you'll find
what you are looking for.

520
00:32:48,634 --> 00:32:50,067
[Mike] Would you like to pray?

521
00:32:52,471 --> 00:32:53,537
No.

522
00:32:53,539 --> 00:32:55,973
Thank you for your time.

523
00:32:55,975 --> 00:32:57,407
-[Mike] Mike.
-[Aaron] Aaron.

524
00:32:57,409 --> 00:32:59,109
-[Mike] Welcome back any time.
-[Aaron] All right.

525
00:33:02,381 --> 00:33:04,982
[dramatic music]

526
00:33:14,226 --> 00:33:16,259
[distant clanging]

527
00:33:16,261 --> 00:33:18,328
[suspenseful music]

528
00:33:19,365 --> 00:33:21,398
[creaking]

529
00:33:24,703 --> 00:33:26,770
[indistinct whispering]

530
00:33:26,772 --> 00:33:29,006
[door creaks]

531
00:33:29,008 --> 00:33:30,474
[clattering]

532
00:33:31,777 --> 00:33:34,044
[indistinct whispering]

533
00:33:49,361 --> 00:33:51,428
[suspenseful music]

534
00:33:51,797 --> 00:33:53,096
Hey!

535
00:33:53,098 --> 00:33:54,281
Okay, whoa, dude!

536
00:33:54,282 --> 00:33:55,465
This is not
what it looks like, man.

537
00:33:55,467 --> 00:33:56,566
-Who are you?
-No, no, man,

538
00:33:56,568 --> 00:33:57,584
this is a misunderstanding,
okay?

539
00:33:57,585 --> 00:33:58,601
Why you breaking into my house?

540
00:33:58,604 --> 00:34:00,137
[Cleo] Because I asked them to.

541
00:34:03,308 --> 00:34:06,043
I know this looks bad.

542
00:34:06,045 --> 00:34:07,511
We just need answers.

543
00:34:09,381 --> 00:34:11,481
Tell me what's going on.

544
00:34:11,483 --> 00:34:13,083
There's something
you should see.

545
00:34:16,388 --> 00:34:17,487
[clicks]

546
00:34:17,489 --> 00:34:19,289
This is Buckout Road.

547
00:34:19,291 --> 00:34:22,459
It connects White Plains
to West Harrison, New York.

548
00:34:22,461 --> 00:34:25,095
This particular stretch

549
00:34:25,096 --> 00:34:27,730
is home to some of the country's
most infamous urban legends.

550
00:34:27,733 --> 00:34:29,199
[Cleo] Buckout Road,

551
00:34:29,201 --> 00:34:32,669
is the most haunted road
in America.

552
00:34:32,671 --> 00:34:34,805
This is the site
of Buckout farmhouse.

553
00:34:34,807 --> 00:34:39,743
Built in 1852, it was the home
of John and Mary Buckout.

554
00:34:39,745 --> 00:34:41,545
[Cleo] John Buckout
was a slave owner,

555
00:34:41,547 --> 00:34:44,548
who, according to legend,
was driven mad by jealousy,

556
00:34:44,550 --> 00:34:46,383
and beat his pregnant wife Mary

557
00:34:46,385 --> 00:34:49,453
after she allegedly
had an affair with a slave.

558
00:34:49,455 --> 00:34:51,555
According to legend,
Mary miscarried

559
00:34:51,557 --> 00:34:53,523
and in a desperate act
of self-defense,

560
00:34:53,525 --> 00:34:56,560
killed John
and then hanged herself.

561
00:34:56,562 --> 00:34:59,329
Mary's ghost is said
to come back at night.

562
00:34:59,331 --> 00:35:02,165
An apparition,
holding a lantern,

563
00:35:02,167 --> 00:35:04,668
luring lost travelers
through the forest

564
00:35:04,670 --> 00:35:06,570
and to their doom.

565
00:35:06,572 --> 00:35:08,238
There are dozens
of urban legends

566
00:35:08,240 --> 00:35:10,357
surrounding Buckout Road,

567
00:35:10,358 --> 00:35:12,475
including the one about
the flesh-eating Albino twins

568
00:35:12,478 --> 00:35:15,445
that lived in this house back
in the 1970's.

569
00:35:15,447 --> 00:35:17,114
Now, the story goes,

570
00:35:17,116 --> 00:35:18,515
that if you pulled up
in your car

571
00:35:18,517 --> 00:35:20,717
and honked the horn three times,

572
00:35:20,719 --> 00:35:23,353
the Albino Twins would appear...

573
00:35:23,355 --> 00:35:26,223
[both] And then eat you.

574
00:35:26,225 --> 00:35:28,492
The most notorious
of the Buckout Road legends

575
00:35:28,494 --> 00:35:30,494
is of the three witches

576
00:35:30,495 --> 00:35:32,495
who were burnt at the stake
in 1650.

577
00:35:32,498 --> 00:35:35,132
Three X's marked
where they were killed.

578
00:35:35,134 --> 00:35:38,268
And if you walk over them
at a certain time of night,

579
00:35:38,270 --> 00:35:40,237
peculiar things will happen.

580
00:35:40,239 --> 00:35:41,905
Temperatures drop.

581
00:35:41,907 --> 00:35:43,807
Cars have been known to crash.

582
00:35:44,710 --> 00:35:46,376
None of this is real.

583
00:35:46,378 --> 00:35:50,347
Only one in 20,000 people carry
the Albinism gene,

584
00:35:50,349 --> 00:35:52,482
so the chances of two
in the same family

585
00:35:52,484 --> 00:35:53,850
are pretty slim.

586
00:35:53,852 --> 00:35:56,153
And cannibals? Really?

587
00:35:56,155 --> 00:35:57,821
Throughout recorded history
in America,

588
00:35:57,823 --> 00:36:00,157
there has never been
a single person

589
00:36:00,159 --> 00:36:02,659
who was accused of witchcraft
and burned at the stake.

590
00:36:02,661 --> 00:36:04,761
[Erik] But what about
Mary's ghost?

591
00:36:04,763 --> 00:36:07,697
The lady in white?
Does she still roam the woods?

592
00:36:07,699 --> 00:36:09,566
[twins] Lantern in hand?

593
00:36:09,568 --> 00:36:11,068
Sorry, folks.

594
00:36:11,069 --> 00:36:12,569
Might make
for good campfire stories,

595
00:36:12,571 --> 00:36:17,541
but there are no evil spirits
haunting the famed Buckout Road.

596
00:36:17,543 --> 00:36:18,608
[keyboard clacks]

597
00:36:20,245 --> 00:36:21,711
It was our class project.

598
00:36:21,713 --> 00:36:24,581
"The Creation and Destruction
of Modern Myth."

599
00:36:24,583 --> 00:36:28,318
We chose
the Buckout Road urban legends.

600
00:36:28,320 --> 00:36:30,220
About three weeks ago,
we started having these

601
00:36:30,222 --> 00:36:32,522
really vivid nightmares.

602
00:36:32,524 --> 00:36:34,524
And then,
the sleepwalking started.

603
00:36:34,526 --> 00:36:35,725
[Erik] Okay, we have a theory.

604
00:36:35,727 --> 00:36:37,460
No, dude, you have a theory.

605
00:36:37,462 --> 00:36:38,762
Dude, you said
it seemed plausible.

606
00:36:38,764 --> 00:36:40,164
Yeah, we were high,

607
00:36:40,165 --> 00:36:41,565
anything's plausible
when you're high.

608
00:36:41,567 --> 00:36:44,401
We think we might be cursed.

609
00:36:44,403 --> 00:36:45,735
And we're going to end up
killing ourselves,

610
00:36:45,737 --> 00:36:47,370
just like Stephanie did.

611
00:36:50,342 --> 00:36:51,875
Get out of my house.

612
00:36:51,877 --> 00:36:54,277
All of you.

613
00:36:54,279 --> 00:36:56,646
Your grandfather recorded
all of his sessions, okay?

614
00:36:56,648 --> 00:36:58,381
There might be something
in those videos, right?

615
00:36:58,383 --> 00:36:59,549
Something that could help us.

616
00:36:59,551 --> 00:37:00,617
Out!

617
00:37:12,798 --> 00:37:15,665
[ominous music]

618
00:37:23,375 --> 00:37:25,008
[shower running]

619
00:37:26,778 --> 00:37:27,844
[shower shuts off]

620
00:37:44,496 --> 00:37:45,662
[thuds]

621
00:37:45,664 --> 00:37:47,731
[high-pitched ringing]

622
00:38:03,849 --> 00:38:04,914
[gunshot]

623
00:38:04,916 --> 00:38:05,982
[thuds]

624
00:38:08,754 --> 00:38:10,820
[suspenseful music]

625
00:38:15,560 --> 00:38:17,927
-[knife pierces flesh]
-[squelches]

626
00:38:21,833 --> 00:38:22,932
[EKG flatlining]

627
00:38:22,934 --> 00:38:24,601
[squelches]

628
00:38:28,874 --> 00:38:30,307
-[Mary screams]
-[John] You think I didn't know

629
00:38:30,309 --> 00:38:32,342
what you and that filthy slave
were up to?

630
00:38:32,344 --> 00:38:33,443
Now look at you!

631
00:38:33,445 --> 00:38:35,679
With this nigger baby
inside you!

632
00:38:36,548 --> 00:38:37,914
-Get up!
-[Mary panting]

633
00:38:37,916 --> 00:38:38,982
[John] Come here.

634
00:38:38,984 --> 00:38:40,500
How many times

635
00:38:40,501 --> 00:38:42,017
-has he put his filthy...
-[Mary] No! Stop!

636
00:38:42,020 --> 00:38:43,486
-...hands on you?
-[Mary] My baby!

637
00:38:44,556 --> 00:38:46,489
-[John] Huh?
-[Mary] My baby!

638
00:38:46,491 --> 00:38:48,792
[Mary] No! Please.

639
00:38:48,794 --> 00:38:50,994
-Answer the question.
-No, John.

640
00:38:50,996 --> 00:38:52,395
-[voices distorting]
-[Mary gasps]

641
00:38:52,397 --> 00:38:54,864
How many?
[John grumbles]

642
00:38:54,866 --> 00:38:57,067
-[grumbling continues]
-[Mary whimpers]

643
00:38:58,070 --> 00:39:00,036
[grunts]

644
00:39:01,707 --> 00:39:02,972
-[John] You...
-[Mary] No!

645
00:39:02,974 --> 00:39:05,709
...are an unclean whore!

646
00:39:06,111 --> 00:39:07,977
[Mary whimpers]

647
00:39:14,853 --> 00:39:16,386
[Mary] No.

648
00:39:16,388 --> 00:39:18,355
You have nothing to say, huh?

649
00:39:20,425 --> 00:39:21,658
[John] You have nothing to say?

650
00:39:24,830 --> 00:39:26,029
Very well.

651
00:39:26,898 --> 00:39:28,398
I'll say it for you.

652
00:39:32,371 --> 00:39:33,570
[Mary] No.

653
00:39:34,573 --> 00:39:35,872
[gun cocks]

654
00:39:35,874 --> 00:39:36,940
No!

655
00:39:38,043 --> 00:39:39,943
[heartbeat thumping]

656
00:39:44,015 --> 00:39:45,815
You're next, boy!

657
00:39:45,817 --> 00:39:46,883
[gunshot]

658
00:39:46,885 --> 00:39:48,685
Christ.

659
00:39:48,687 --> 00:39:50,153
[panting]

660
00:39:52,758 --> 00:39:53,923
[moaning]

661
00:39:59,498 --> 00:40:01,564
[eerie music]

662
00:40:13,612 --> 00:40:14,677
Aaron.

663
00:40:16,581 --> 00:40:17,881
You should come on in.

664
00:40:26,091 --> 00:40:27,490
[Cleo] What are you doing here?

665
00:40:31,196 --> 00:40:32,662
I'm having dreams too.

666
00:40:32,664 --> 00:40:34,648
What?

667
00:40:34,649 --> 00:40:36,633
Tell me everything you know
about Buckout Road.

668
00:40:36,635 --> 00:40:38,101
We're gonna need some help.

669
00:40:38,103 --> 00:40:40,637
[upbeat music]

670
00:41:00,459 --> 00:41:01,991
[Derek] Yo! We got it!

671
00:41:01,993 --> 00:41:03,793
[Erik] We have to return it
in an hour.

672
00:41:04,930 --> 00:41:06,329
Make a copy of that,

673
00:41:06,330 --> 00:41:07,729
or it's going to cost me
another eighth.

674
00:41:07,732 --> 00:41:09,132
What is that?

675
00:41:09,133 --> 00:41:10,533
That is
the unauthorized biography

676
00:41:10,535 --> 00:41:12,202
of Westchester county.

677
00:41:12,204 --> 00:41:14,037
It's like a
off-the-record recording

678
00:41:14,039 --> 00:41:15,805
of some of the crazier shit
that happened around here.

679
00:41:18,810 --> 00:41:19,943
Alse Young?

680
00:41:19,945 --> 00:41:21,177
Right?

681
00:41:21,179 --> 00:41:22,579
Who's Alse Young?

682
00:41:22,581 --> 00:41:24,113
It's the Woman of Windsor.

683
00:41:24,115 --> 00:41:25,782
[Erik] First recorded instance
of a person

684
00:41:25,784 --> 00:41:27,517
being executed for witchcraft.

685
00:41:27,519 --> 00:41:28,785
She was hanged
in Hartford, Connecticut,

686
00:41:28,787 --> 00:41:30,954
but there's nothing
about Young's trial

687
00:41:30,956 --> 00:41:32,889
or specifics about
the hanging itself.

688
00:41:34,059 --> 00:41:36,559
There is no record of this
in Hartford.

689
00:41:36,561 --> 00:41:39,195
Okay, it says here
that Alse originally lived here

690
00:41:39,197 --> 00:41:42,632
in Westchester with her parents
and three sisters.

691
00:41:42,634 --> 00:41:44,801
After she was hanged
in Hartford,

692
00:41:44,803 --> 00:41:47,604
a group of vigilante zealots
came back here and found them.

693
00:41:49,207 --> 00:41:51,458
In a private tribunal,

694
00:41:51,459 --> 00:41:53,710
Councilor Jonathan Black
ordered their execution.

695
00:41:55,680 --> 00:41:57,680
All three women burned
at the stake,

696
00:41:57,682 --> 00:41:59,182
off of Buckout Road.

697
00:41:59,184 --> 00:42:02,018
[Cleo] The entire family of five
were killed.

698
00:42:02,020 --> 00:42:03,086
Holy shit.

699
00:42:04,523 --> 00:42:06,089
The urban legend is real.

700
00:42:06,091 --> 00:42:08,258
Make that copy
and meet at my place in an hour.

701
00:42:09,060 --> 00:42:10,126
[Erik] Let's go.

702
00:42:12,597 --> 00:42:13,663
[Derek] Dude.

703
00:42:18,203 --> 00:42:21,070
Dr. Powell's final report
on Stephanie Hancock,

704
00:42:21,072 --> 00:42:23,039
retrieved from the crash site.

705
00:42:23,041 --> 00:42:24,908
Well, I'll take it.

706
00:42:25,610 --> 00:42:26,676
Thank you.

707
00:42:30,048 --> 00:42:32,282
[tense music]

708
00:42:41,159 --> 00:42:43,192
-Cheryl?
-[Cheryl] Yes, boss?

709
00:42:44,062 --> 00:42:45,828
[drawer clatters]

710
00:42:46,898 --> 00:42:48,264
I'm going for a drive.

711
00:42:52,270 --> 00:42:54,237
What does it say
about Buckout Road?

712
00:42:54,239 --> 00:42:56,205
There wasn't
a Buckout Road back then.

713
00:42:57,776 --> 00:42:59,108
But there is this,

714
00:43:01,046 --> 00:43:02,979
"The landeth is anon cursed

715
00:43:02,981 --> 00:43:07,951
and from this day forward shalt
be-est known asdéofol's path."

716
00:43:07,953 --> 00:43:09,319
Déofol?

717
00:43:09,321 --> 00:43:10,920
The devil.

718
00:43:10,922 --> 00:43:12,221
[car door closes]

719
00:43:12,223 --> 00:43:15,325
[Cleo] Buckout Road
is the Devil's Path.

720
00:43:21,766 --> 00:43:23,099
[Aaron] The dreams,

721
00:43:23,101 --> 00:43:24,801
what do we know?

722
00:43:24,803 --> 00:43:26,169
[Cleo] Each of us
is having a dream

723
00:43:26,171 --> 00:43:28,338
related to
a Buckout Road urban legend.

724
00:43:29,808 --> 00:43:32,108
We are all sleepwalking.

725
00:43:32,110 --> 00:43:35,244
-What are we missing?
-Everything, man.

726
00:43:35,246 --> 00:43:37,313
Why are we having them?
How do we stop them?

727
00:43:37,315 --> 00:43:38,998
Are we gonna die?

728
00:43:38,999 --> 00:43:40,682
Is this all just
a stupid coincidence?

729
00:43:40,685 --> 00:43:42,251
Buckout Road.

730
00:43:42,253 --> 00:43:44,787
[Aaron] What do we know now
that we didn't know before?

731
00:43:44,789 --> 00:43:47,023
We know the legend
of the witches is real.

732
00:43:48,193 --> 00:43:49,959
They put a curse on the road.

733
00:43:49,961 --> 00:43:51,427
What are we missing?

734
00:43:51,428 --> 00:43:52,894
How any of this could be
even remotely possible.

735
00:43:52,897 --> 00:43:55,264
Come on, we're never gonna get
answers until we just admit it.

736
00:43:55,266 --> 00:43:56,332
Admit what?

737
00:43:56,334 --> 00:43:58,201
We're being punished
for our project.

738
00:43:59,270 --> 00:44:01,304
Oh, you think
we hurt evil's feelings?

739
00:44:01,306 --> 00:44:02,672
Come on!

740
00:44:03,775 --> 00:44:05,041
[Cleo] What's your explanation?

741
00:44:05,043 --> 00:44:07,944
Uh, power of suggestion?
We're not cursed.

742
00:44:07,946 --> 00:44:09,379
-But what if we are?
-We're not!

743
00:44:09,381 --> 00:44:12,115
-What if we are?
-Listen to yourself.

744
00:44:12,117 --> 00:44:14,684
There's no evil. There's no God.

745
00:44:14,686 --> 00:44:16,419
That's why we did this project
in the first place,

746
00:44:16,421 --> 00:44:18,354
because I'm an atheist
and so are you.

747
00:44:20,892 --> 00:44:22,125
Not anymore.

748
00:44:23,361 --> 00:44:24,794
[scoffs]

749
00:44:24,796 --> 00:44:26,062
If you're the ones being cursed,

750
00:44:26,064 --> 00:44:27,930
why am I having dreams
of a pregnant woman

751
00:44:27,932 --> 00:44:29,432
being beaten by slave owners?

752
00:44:29,434 --> 00:44:30,850
[Erik] Wait,

753
00:44:30,851 --> 00:44:32,267
you dream about
John and Mary Buckout?

754
00:44:32,270 --> 00:44:34,837
And witches,
and '70s muscle cars,

755
00:44:34,839 --> 00:44:36,272
and messed up suicides!

756
00:44:36,274 --> 00:44:37,707
That's something.

757
00:44:37,709 --> 00:44:40,109
But we're dreaming about
a specific urban legend,

758
00:44:40,111 --> 00:44:41,911
-right?
-[Cleo] Yeah.

759
00:44:41,912 --> 00:44:43,712
And you're dreaming
about all of them.

760
00:44:43,715 --> 00:44:45,982
Maybe it's like a virus.

761
00:44:45,983 --> 00:44:48,250
Yeah, like that dream flu
that's been going around.

762
00:44:48,253 --> 00:44:49,952
Has the sleepwalking
started yet?

763
00:44:50,388 --> 00:44:51,454
No.

764
00:44:51,456 --> 00:44:52,822
It will.

765
00:44:54,092 --> 00:44:55,458
-[Harris] Cleo?
-[door opens]

766
00:44:55,460 --> 00:44:57,260
Oh, I'm sorry,
I didn't know you had company.

767
00:44:58,430 --> 00:44:59,962
What are you
two idiots doing here?

768
00:44:59,964 --> 00:45:01,698
[scoffs]
Dad!

769
00:45:04,936 --> 00:45:07,003
[Harris] I'm sorry,
what's going on?

770
00:45:07,005 --> 00:45:08,204
Those idiots...

771
00:45:08,206 --> 00:45:09,739
-Yeah?
-...are my friends!

772
00:45:09,741 --> 00:45:11,107
[Cleo] They're actually
in my class so,

773
00:45:11,109 --> 00:45:12,709
way to be paying attention, Dad.

774
00:45:12,711 --> 00:45:15,244
Yeah, speaking of,
where were you today?

775
00:45:15,246 --> 00:45:17,346
How do you know
I wasn't in class?

776
00:45:17,348 --> 00:45:19,282
Your phone.

777
00:45:19,283 --> 00:45:21,217
-You're geotagging me?
-I'm concerned about you.

778
00:45:21,219 --> 00:45:23,252
I don't want you hanging out
with any of those guys,

779
00:45:23,254 --> 00:45:24,420
especially Aaron.

780
00:45:24,422 --> 00:45:26,189
You don't want me hanging out
with Aaron

781
00:45:26,191 --> 00:45:27,307
because his grandfather died?

782
00:45:27,308 --> 00:45:28,424
[Harris] I think,
given what's happened--

783
00:45:28,426 --> 00:45:30,059
[Cleo]
What are you afraid of, Dad?

784
00:45:30,061 --> 00:45:32,045
That I'm going to commiserate?

785
00:45:32,046 --> 00:45:34,030
You should be grateful I have
someone that's there for me.

786
00:45:41,406 --> 00:45:42,839
I'm sorry, Dad.

787
00:45:46,077 --> 00:45:47,877
Invite your friends to dinner.

788
00:45:53,284 --> 00:45:55,351
[retreating footsteps]

789
00:46:03,094 --> 00:46:06,229
-[crickets buzzing]
-[utensils clanking]

790
00:46:06,231 --> 00:46:07,864
[Harris] So how are you
holding up, Aaron?

791
00:46:09,234 --> 00:46:11,968
-I'm good.
-Mm.

792
00:46:11,970 --> 00:46:14,437
Next couple weeks I'm just gonna
be taking care of the estate.

793
00:46:14,439 --> 00:46:16,439
Have you got someone
to help out?

794
00:46:16,441 --> 00:46:18,407
No, my grandpa took care
of everything,

795
00:46:18,409 --> 00:46:20,977
so, I just have to sign
a bunch of paperwork

796
00:46:20,979 --> 00:46:23,946
-and sell the house.
-Oh.

797
00:46:23,948 --> 00:46:25,665
Are you leaving?

798
00:46:25,666 --> 00:46:27,383
[Aaron] Yeah, I'm going to go
back to NPS eventually.

799
00:46:27,385 --> 00:46:29,886
Navy Post-graduate School.

800
00:46:29,888 --> 00:46:32,054
Well, tactical training?

801
00:46:32,056 --> 00:46:34,323
Masters, religious studies
and philosophy.

802
00:46:34,893 --> 00:46:36,058
[scoffs]

803
00:46:36,060 --> 00:46:37,193
Dad.

804
00:46:37,195 --> 00:46:39,078
[chuckles]
Well,

805
00:46:39,079 --> 00:46:40,962
seems like you're not taking
advantage of the facility.

806
00:46:40,965 --> 00:46:44,400
Will you, uh, spend your
military career praying?

807
00:46:44,402 --> 00:46:46,169
Dad!

808
00:46:46,171 --> 00:46:48,204
Not all wars are fought
on the battlefield.

809
00:46:49,207 --> 00:46:50,907
Most are fought in the mind.

810
00:46:50,909 --> 00:46:53,342
Oh, well, you would know.

811
00:46:57,048 --> 00:46:59,248
Is there something
you would like to say to me,

812
00:46:59,250 --> 00:47:01,167
Detective Harris?

813
00:47:01,168 --> 00:47:03,085
No. I'm just curious how you're
dealing with all that's,

814
00:47:03,087 --> 00:47:04,520
you know, all that's happened.

815
00:47:04,522 --> 00:47:06,222
I'm fine.

816
00:47:06,224 --> 00:47:08,424
You got it all handled?
Do you... No, uh...

817
00:47:09,327 --> 00:47:10,560
No sudden urges?

818
00:47:10,562 --> 00:47:11,894
What are you doing?

819
00:47:13,164 --> 00:47:14,263
He's trying to ask me,

820
00:47:14,265 --> 00:47:16,199
in the least subtle way
possible,

821
00:47:16,200 --> 00:47:18,134
if I'm going to burn down
my grandfather's house.

822
00:47:18,136 --> 00:47:20,837
Why would you burn down
your grandfather's house?

823
00:47:20,839 --> 00:47:22,171
Because I did it before.

824
00:47:23,241 --> 00:47:25,308
[scoffs]
Dad, is this true?

825
00:47:25,310 --> 00:47:26,976
If he says so.

826
00:47:26,978 --> 00:47:28,544
I mean, by law,
I wouldn't even be allowed

827
00:47:28,546 --> 00:47:32,915
to comment on
a sealed juvenile case, so...

828
00:47:32,917 --> 00:47:35,484
You know, if you didn't want me
to hang out with your daughter,

829
00:47:35,486 --> 00:47:37,854
you could have just manned up
and told me to my face.

830
00:47:39,123 --> 00:47:40,256
Excuse me.

831
00:47:41,226 --> 00:47:42,458
Thank you for dinner.

832
00:47:50,201 --> 00:47:51,334
[door closes]

833
00:47:51,336 --> 00:47:53,269
What the hell was that?

834
00:47:53,271 --> 00:47:56,973
Aaron Powell
is an unstable young man.

835
00:47:56,975 --> 00:47:59,308
That fire nearly killed someone.

836
00:48:00,345 --> 00:48:02,211
And this is how
you want me to find out?

837
00:48:03,214 --> 00:48:04,313
Like this?

838
00:48:10,955 --> 00:48:12,154
[door closes]

839
00:48:12,156 --> 00:48:13,623
They're coming back, right?

840
00:48:15,293 --> 00:48:16,359
Get out.

841
00:48:21,032 --> 00:48:23,099
[crickets buzzing]

842
00:48:27,305 --> 00:48:29,338
[somber music]

843
00:48:33,177 --> 00:48:34,410
[door opens]

844
00:48:36,948 --> 00:48:39,315
[door closes]

845
00:48:39,317 --> 00:48:41,918
[Cleo] You shouldn't leave
your door open, you know.

846
00:48:41,920 --> 00:48:44,020
All kinds of crazies out there.

847
00:48:44,022 --> 00:48:45,154
[Aaron chuckles]

848
00:48:49,527 --> 00:48:50,660
Tell me what happened.

849
00:48:57,535 --> 00:49:00,436
My parents had just died
in a freak car accident.

850
00:49:00,438 --> 00:49:01,604
I was an angry kid.

851
00:49:04,075 --> 00:49:05,341
One night, I took...

852
00:49:06,678 --> 00:49:08,344
all the family photos
I could find

853
00:49:08,346 --> 00:49:10,246
and put them in a trashcan
and set them on fire.

854
00:49:12,083 --> 00:49:13,950
[Aaron] I accidentally...

855
00:49:13,952 --> 00:49:16,018
knocked that can over,

856
00:49:16,020 --> 00:49:17,720
and the fire spread
to the rest of the house.

857
00:49:19,123 --> 00:49:21,424
My neighbor, Mr. Cooper,
pulled me out,

858
00:49:21,426 --> 00:49:23,559
but not before he sustained
third degree burns

859
00:49:23,561 --> 00:49:25,361
across 40 percent of his back.

860
00:49:27,265 --> 00:49:28,564
[exhales sharply]

861
00:49:29,467 --> 00:49:30,533
Jesus.

862
00:49:30,535 --> 00:49:32,034
I was arrested for arson,

863
00:49:33,271 --> 00:49:35,004
diagnosed with having
a psychotic break

864
00:49:35,006 --> 00:49:37,506
by the esteemed
Dr. Lawrence Powell,

865
00:49:37,508 --> 00:49:40,576
who then committed me
to the psych ward.

866
00:49:40,578 --> 00:49:43,412
Your grandfather was the one
who sent you away?

867
00:49:43,414 --> 00:49:44,613
My whole life.

868
00:49:46,217 --> 00:49:48,050
He shipped me
to boarding school.

869
00:49:49,153 --> 00:49:52,088
Boarding school
turned into college,

870
00:49:52,090 --> 00:49:53,489
and then I enlisted.

871
00:50:01,366 --> 00:50:04,166
Um, I was at
this friend's party,

872
00:50:04,168 --> 00:50:06,268
I wasn't actually allowed
to be there.

873
00:50:08,039 --> 00:50:10,606
And I kept seeing the caller ID
on my phone.

874
00:50:12,477 --> 00:50:14,110
And I just kept thinking,

875
00:50:14,112 --> 00:50:15,244
I'm dead.

876
00:50:16,647 --> 00:50:19,148
My dad's actually gonna kill me.

877
00:50:19,150 --> 00:50:21,717
[Cleo] I didn't answer
the first three times he called.

878
00:50:25,490 --> 00:50:28,257
But then on the fourth,
I ran outside somewhere quiet

879
00:50:28,259 --> 00:50:29,458
and I answered.

880
00:50:31,429 --> 00:50:33,229
[Cleo] He was calling
from the hospital.

881
00:50:35,066 --> 00:50:38,167
My mother had swallowed
over 15 pills.

882
00:50:38,803 --> 00:50:40,436
They couldn't save her.

883
00:50:42,206 --> 00:50:43,806
I just threw up, right there,

884
00:50:44,542 --> 00:50:46,742
on the lawn.

885
00:50:46,744 --> 00:50:50,212
[Cleo] People walking past,
laughing.

886
00:50:50,214 --> 00:50:52,782
I just looked like any teenager
at any party,

887
00:50:52,784 --> 00:50:54,450
who had had too much to drink.

888
00:50:58,689 --> 00:51:01,190
A week after the funeral,
my dad went back to work,

889
00:51:01,192 --> 00:51:02,258
and...

890
00:51:05,196 --> 00:51:08,697
two weeks after that he just
stopped talking about it.

891
00:51:10,701 --> 00:51:12,268
Five years this Saturday.

892
00:51:15,206 --> 00:51:16,806
The worst thing about it was...

893
00:51:19,110 --> 00:51:20,676
she didn't even seem depressed.

894
00:51:22,814 --> 00:51:24,480
[Cleo] Nobody saw it coming.

895
00:51:32,123 --> 00:51:33,456
Can we just watch some TV?

896
00:51:34,459 --> 00:51:35,591
[Aaron] Of course.

897
00:51:43,301 --> 00:51:44,500
-[TV turns on]
-[sniffles]

898
00:51:46,237 --> 00:51:47,369
[grunts]

899
00:51:57,281 --> 00:51:59,115
[indistinct TV chatter]

900
00:52:03,387 --> 00:52:05,421
[wind howling]

901
00:52:07,658 --> 00:52:09,892
[suspenseful music]

902
00:52:29,413 --> 00:52:31,714
[suspenseful music continues]

903
00:52:47,331 --> 00:52:49,298
[Jonathan] These three
are in league with Satan!

904
00:52:50,301 --> 00:52:52,201
The devil's children!

905
00:52:52,904 --> 00:52:54,170
[banging on door]

906
00:52:54,172 --> 00:52:56,238
...these three out!

907
00:52:56,240 --> 00:52:57,940
Lucifer's daughter!

908
00:53:01,379 --> 00:53:02,912
[door creaks open]

909
00:53:13,191 --> 00:53:15,357
These are the ones.

910
00:53:19,931 --> 00:53:22,698
Everything is prepared.

911
00:53:24,535 --> 00:53:25,968
Bring them to the clearing.

912
00:53:28,406 --> 00:53:31,207
[heavy breathing]

913
00:53:32,710 --> 00:53:34,376
[Lawrence] Are you afraid?

914
00:53:35,279 --> 00:53:36,912
[man 1 on TV] I have fixed it,

915
00:53:36,914 --> 00:53:38,647
so it locks and bolts
from the inside.

916
00:53:38,649 --> 00:53:40,616
But up here, all these windows?

917
00:53:40,617 --> 00:53:42,584
Why, we'd never know where
they were gonna hit us next.

918
00:53:42,587 --> 00:53:44,720
[man 2 on TV] You got a point,
Mr. Cooper,

919
00:53:44,722 --> 00:53:46,722
but down in the cellar,
there's no place to run to.

920
00:53:46,724 --> 00:53:48,624
I mean, if they did get in,

921
00:53:48,626 --> 00:53:51,293
there would be no back exit.
We'd be done for.

922
00:53:51,295 --> 00:53:53,129
[clears throat]

923
00:53:53,130 --> 00:53:54,964
[man 2 on TV] We can get out
of here if we have to.

924
00:53:54,966 --> 00:53:57,333
We've got windows to see
what's going on outside.

925
00:53:58,903 --> 00:54:00,336
[groans]

926
00:54:08,012 --> 00:54:09,278
[gasps]

927
00:54:10,481 --> 00:54:12,448
[pants]

928
00:54:15,453 --> 00:54:16,552
Cleo?

929
00:54:17,288 --> 00:54:19,588
[eerie music]

930
00:54:38,476 --> 00:54:39,275
-[matchstick rasps]

931
00:54:47,818 --> 00:54:49,952
Hey, Cleo?

932
00:54:57,695 --> 00:54:59,028
[screams]

933
00:54:59,030 --> 00:55:00,596
[flame roars]

934
00:55:00,598 --> 00:55:03,065
[screaming]

935
00:55:04,435 --> 00:55:06,302
Okay. All right.

936
00:55:06,871 --> 00:55:08,304
All right.

937
00:55:08,939 --> 00:55:10,572
Oh, my god.

938
00:55:10,574 --> 00:55:12,041
What's happening?

939
00:55:13,678 --> 00:55:15,577
[Mike]
Come and see me again next week.

940
00:55:15,579 --> 00:55:16,545
-[door opens]
-[Aaron] Reverend Mike.

941
00:55:16,547 --> 00:55:18,013
[Mike] Aaron!

942
00:55:22,887 --> 00:55:23,953
[Mike] Change your mind
about praying?

943
00:55:23,954 --> 00:55:25,020
"Suffering spirit.
Suffer hell on earth."

944
00:55:25,022 --> 00:55:26,889
-Where'd you hear that?
-Where did you?

945
00:55:28,626 --> 00:55:31,627
Did your grandfather
ever show you the archive room?

946
00:55:31,629 --> 00:55:33,762
[Mike] It was thought that
some churches were built

947
00:55:33,764 --> 00:55:35,864
to fight the evil
that plagued the area.

948
00:55:36,667 --> 00:55:38,000
The land was cursed.

949
00:55:38,969 --> 00:55:41,804
The church became a sanctuary.

950
00:55:41,806 --> 00:55:44,673
In the case
of this particular church,

951
00:55:44,675 --> 00:55:47,509
it was built
because of Buckout Road.

952
00:55:47,511 --> 00:55:49,478
You know about Buckout Road?

953
00:55:49,480 --> 00:55:52,448
Everyone here knows
about Buckout Road.

954
00:55:52,450 --> 00:55:54,616
"The most haunted road
in America."

955
00:56:04,428 --> 00:56:05,594
[Mike] Sumerian legend.

956
00:56:06,497 --> 00:56:08,864
Enki was lord of the earth,

957
00:56:08,866 --> 00:56:10,766
and Inanna was a deity.

958
00:56:10,768 --> 00:56:13,836
She was sent to hell.
Enki tried to save her.

959
00:56:13,838 --> 00:56:16,505
She came back to Earth,
but was accompanied by demons

960
00:56:16,507 --> 00:56:18,741
who insisted she wasn't free,

961
00:56:18,743 --> 00:56:21,410
until someone else
took her place.

962
00:56:21,412 --> 00:56:23,078
Enki made the choice
to replace her.

963
00:56:23,881 --> 00:56:25,481
It's an old fable.

964
00:56:25,483 --> 00:56:28,050
Passed down to many religions
throughout history.

965
00:56:28,052 --> 00:56:30,018
Hindus call it Karma,

966
00:56:30,020 --> 00:56:33,389
we've come to understand it
as Revelations 22,

967
00:56:33,391 --> 00:56:35,157
verses 18 through 19.

968
00:56:35,159 --> 00:56:37,459
"If any man shall add
onto these things,

969
00:56:37,461 --> 00:56:38,894
God shall add
onto him the plagues

970
00:56:38,896 --> 00:56:40,429
that are written in this book."

971
00:56:40,431 --> 00:56:41,764
Checks and balances.

972
00:56:41,766 --> 00:56:45,501
If you believe and respect,
everything's in balance.

973
00:56:45,503 --> 00:56:46,635
If you don't,

974
00:56:46,971 --> 00:56:48,070
well...

975
00:56:49,106 --> 00:56:50,906
[paper rustling]

976
00:56:52,410 --> 00:56:54,060
What is that?

977
00:56:54,061 --> 00:56:55,711
[Mike] It's an ancient symbol
predating Christianity.

978
00:56:55,713 --> 00:56:57,413
Roughly translated,

979
00:56:57,415 --> 00:56:59,181
"It's a call to serve."

980
00:56:59,183 --> 00:57:02,451
Zealots would often brand
themselves with it in obedience.

981
00:57:05,656 --> 00:57:08,490
[Aaron] Is there anything
in that book about the evil?

982
00:57:08,492 --> 00:57:10,993
[Mike] There's whole sections
about the devil demanding

983
00:57:10,995 --> 00:57:13,629
five sacrifices.

984
00:57:13,631 --> 00:57:15,597
Spirits of the departed
guiding the living.

985
00:57:15,599 --> 00:57:17,132
Sending Satan back to hell.

986
00:57:17,134 --> 00:57:18,700
Wait, wait, wait.
What, what did you just say?

987
00:57:18,702 --> 00:57:20,502
Sending Satan back to hell.

988
00:57:20,504 --> 00:57:22,070
No, about the spirits

989
00:57:22,072 --> 00:57:23,672
guiding the living.

990
00:57:23,674 --> 00:57:25,941
It's meant allegorically.

991
00:57:25,943 --> 00:57:27,843
It's the passing on
of traditions and values,

992
00:57:27,845 --> 00:57:29,945
preparing one for the future.

993
00:57:29,947 --> 00:57:31,513
[Aaron] And you believe
in all of this?

994
00:57:33,851 --> 00:57:37,085
I believe we've come a long way
as a species since then.

995
00:57:39,056 --> 00:57:41,056
Things that were important then,

996
00:57:42,092 --> 00:57:43,859
just aren't very much today.

997
00:57:43,861 --> 00:57:46,094
But isn't it your job
to believe?

998
00:57:46,096 --> 00:57:49,531
My job is to offer comfort
and council for people who do.

999
00:57:51,602 --> 00:57:53,552
Look.

1000
00:57:53,553 --> 00:57:55,503
it's getting late and I have
a service to prepare for.

1001
00:57:57,575 --> 00:57:58,941
If you'd like
to come back tomorrow

1002
00:57:58,943 --> 00:58:00,509
and talk some more,
you're welcome.

1003
00:58:06,684 --> 00:58:08,684
[Aaron] Well, well.

1004
00:58:08,686 --> 00:58:10,886
Detective Harris.

1005
00:58:10,888 --> 00:58:12,654
[Harris] You know, Aaron,

1006
00:58:13,757 --> 00:58:15,491
lately I've been feeling
a little bit

1007
00:58:15,493 --> 00:58:16,959
like old Job over there.

1008
00:58:19,096 --> 00:58:21,797
Like I'm constantly
being tested.

1009
00:58:23,234 --> 00:58:24,500
I don't know
what the hell happened

1010
00:58:24,502 --> 00:58:25,834
between you and Cleo last night,

1011
00:58:25,836 --> 00:58:29,738
but she is not doing
very well today at all.

1012
00:58:29,740 --> 00:58:32,274
So, I'm going to ask you nicely.

1013
00:58:33,110 --> 00:58:34,276
Please,

1014
00:58:36,280 --> 00:58:37,880
stay away from her.

1015
00:58:42,620 --> 00:58:44,186
She told me about
her mother's suicide.

1016
00:58:45,289 --> 00:58:47,656
Five years ago, right?

1017
00:58:47,658 --> 00:58:49,658
She also told me how you
shut her out afterwards.

1018
00:58:50,628 --> 00:58:51,827
She needs you.

1019
00:58:54,031 --> 00:58:55,097
Just...

1020
00:58:55,799 --> 00:58:57,099
stay away.

1021
00:58:59,937 --> 00:59:01,003
[door closes]

1022
00:59:01,939 --> 00:59:03,272
[whooshes]

1023
00:59:05,676 --> 00:59:08,010
[suspenseful music]

1024
00:59:34,305 --> 00:59:35,671
All right, Grandpa.

1025
00:59:39,109 --> 00:59:40,175
Show me.

1026
00:59:41,879 --> 00:59:44,179
[suspenseful music]

1027
00:59:44,181 --> 00:59:45,781
[Lawrence] Five years.

1028
00:59:47,351 --> 00:59:48,917
Five years.

1029
00:59:50,120 --> 00:59:51,653
Five years.

1030
00:59:51,655 --> 00:59:53,138
[screaming]

1031
00:59:53,139 --> 00:59:54,622
[Cleo] The witches put a curse
on the road.

1032
00:59:56,860 --> 01:00:00,128
["Highway Star"
by Deep Purple playing]

1033
01:00:00,130 --> 01:00:02,864
¶ Nobody gonna take my car ¶

1034
01:00:04,802 --> 01:00:07,002
-¶ Nobody gonna take my car ¶
-[engine shuts off]

1035
01:00:07,972 --> 01:00:10,172
[horn honking]

1036
01:00:10,174 --> 01:00:13,075
¶ Ooh, it's a killing machine ¶

1037
01:00:13,077 --> 01:00:15,711
¶ It's got everything ¶

1038
01:00:18,315 --> 01:00:19,648
[knife rasps]

1039
01:00:21,185 --> 01:00:23,285
[gasping]

1040
01:00:24,221 --> 01:00:25,354
[grunts]

1041
01:00:35,966 --> 01:00:37,866
[cell phone ringing]

1042
01:00:44,108 --> 01:00:45,558
Hello?

1043
01:00:45,559 --> 01:00:47,009
[Aaron] Cleo,
you need to get over here.

1044
01:00:47,011 --> 01:00:47,809
Right now.

1045
01:00:47,811 --> 01:00:50,012
[tense music]

1046
01:00:53,283 --> 01:00:55,717
[Aaron] Are you sure
the twins are headed there?

1047
01:00:55,719 --> 01:00:58,153
[Cleo] Yeah, my dad said
he arrested them under the tree.

1048
01:00:59,990 --> 01:01:01,123
[swooshes]

1049
01:01:02,326 --> 01:01:04,359
[Cleo] Aaron! There they are.

1050
01:01:04,361 --> 01:01:06,395
[Aaron] Oh, my god.
You were right!

1051
01:01:06,397 --> 01:01:08,196
[Cleo] Careful when you
wake them up, okay?

1052
01:01:08,198 --> 01:01:10,032
Remember what happened to me.

1053
01:01:10,034 --> 01:01:11,333
[hand brake locks]

1054
01:01:11,335 --> 01:01:12,734
[seatbelt clicks]

1055
01:01:15,706 --> 01:01:16,772
[car doors close]

1056
01:01:24,381 --> 01:01:25,881
[axe rasping]

1057
01:01:33,691 --> 01:01:36,024
[Cleo] Erik! Derek! Hey!

1058
01:01:37,094 --> 01:01:38,193
[Cleo] No, no, no.

1059
01:01:38,195 --> 01:01:39,361
No! No! No!

1060
01:01:39,363 --> 01:01:41,129
[cracking]

1061
01:01:42,066 --> 01:01:44,132
[ominous music]

1062
01:01:45,035 --> 01:01:46,835
[grunting]

1063
01:01:50,941 --> 01:01:52,107
Oh, my god!

1064
01:01:52,876 --> 01:01:56,712
[Cleo sobbing]

1065
01:02:00,417 --> 01:02:02,050
[indistinct radio chatter]

1066
01:02:02,052 --> 01:02:03,852
What the fuck happened
back there?

1067
01:02:05,255 --> 01:02:06,822
Dad, just back off okay?

1068
01:02:06,824 --> 01:02:08,323
What did you do?

1069
01:02:08,325 --> 01:02:10,792
He didn't do anything. Jesus!

1070
01:02:13,363 --> 01:02:15,430
What, what kind of trouble
are you in?

1071
01:02:18,235 --> 01:02:20,936
You wouldn't understand.

1072
01:02:20,938 --> 01:02:23,905
Look, I can't help you unless
I know what's going on, Cleo.

1073
01:02:23,907 --> 01:02:25,073
Would we have called you

1074
01:02:25,075 --> 01:02:27,275
if we had anything
to do with this?

1075
01:02:27,277 --> 01:02:29,778
[indistinct radio chatter]

1076
01:02:29,780 --> 01:02:31,012
All right. Get home.

1077
01:02:31,849 --> 01:02:33,332
Whoa, whoa, not you.

1078
01:02:33,333 --> 01:02:34,816
-[Cleo] Wait, Dad, what are--
-Home! Now!

1079
01:02:39,757 --> 01:02:42,457
If you're not on the first bus
out of town tomorrow,

1080
01:02:42,459 --> 01:02:43,825
I will build a case against you

1081
01:02:43,827 --> 01:02:45,327
that will tie you
to all of this.

1082
01:02:48,098 --> 01:02:50,799
Maitland, you should take
Mr. Powell here home.

1083
01:02:51,368 --> 01:02:53,135
You got it. Come on.

1084
01:02:53,137 --> 01:02:55,270
[distant siren wailing]

1085
01:03:02,913 --> 01:03:04,312
[Mike]
Sending Satan back to hell.

1086
01:03:05,382 --> 01:03:07,149
[blood splatters]

1087
01:03:08,886 --> 01:03:10,385
[Mike] It's a call to serve.

1088
01:03:10,387 --> 01:03:12,087
[Cleo] They put a curse
on the road.

1089
01:03:12,089 --> 01:03:15,123
Before thy sister Alse
was hanged,

1090
01:03:15,125 --> 01:03:17,959
the wretch did confess her sins.

1091
01:03:17,961 --> 01:03:19,995
Shall ye confess anon?

1092
01:03:19,997 --> 01:03:22,063
Confess to heresy?

1093
01:03:22,065 --> 01:03:25,433
Confess to defiling the name
of the one true Lord?

1094
01:03:26,570 --> 01:03:29,104
[Jonathan] Lord saith unto him,

1095
01:03:29,106 --> 01:03:31,239
"All these things
will I give thee,

1096
01:03:31,241 --> 01:03:33,508
that thou wilt fall down
and worship me.

1097
01:03:33,510 --> 01:03:35,911
Then saith Jesus unto him,

1098
01:03:35,913 --> 01:03:37,579
"Get thee hence, Satan!"

1099
01:03:37,581 --> 01:03:38,847
For it is written,

1100
01:03:38,849 --> 01:03:39,915
-thou shalt worship
-[Aaron] Cleo!

1101
01:03:39,917 --> 01:03:41,149
-the Lord thy God
-Wake up!

1102
01:03:41,151 --> 01:03:44,219
and him only shalt thou serve.

1103
01:03:44,221 --> 01:03:46,188
[Jonathan] Submit yourselves
therefore unto God.

1104
01:03:46,190 --> 01:03:48,056
[sisters indistinct chanting]

1105
01:03:49,259 --> 01:03:50,892
[Aaron] Hey! Hey.

1106
01:03:50,894 --> 01:03:52,561
What's, what's going on?

1107
01:03:54,164 --> 01:03:55,230
Wait.

1108
01:03:55,232 --> 01:03:57,065
Don't pull me away.

1109
01:03:57,067 --> 01:03:59,201
Please,
you have to let me help her.

1110
01:03:59,970 --> 01:04:01,469
Jesus Christ, just stop!

1111
01:04:09,479 --> 01:04:10,579
[screams]

1112
01:04:11,315 --> 01:04:13,381
[suspenseful music]

1113
01:04:14,151 --> 01:04:16,585
[indistinct dialogue]

1114
01:04:16,587 --> 01:04:19,154
[Jonathan] Be afflicted,
and mourn and weep.

1115
01:04:19,156 --> 01:04:21,256
[flame crackles]

1116
01:04:22,459 --> 01:04:24,526
[overlapping chanting]

1117
01:04:26,196 --> 01:04:28,029
[Aaron] Oh, my god.

1118
01:04:28,031 --> 01:04:31,466
[Jonathan] Your soul will burn
and I shall bathe in the ashes!

1119
01:04:33,036 --> 01:04:35,971
[Jonathan] You shall burn
the brightest of all.

1120
01:04:35,973 --> 01:04:37,038
Stop!

1121
01:04:37,040 --> 01:04:38,240
[sisters screaming]

1122
01:04:38,242 --> 01:04:40,542
Arrest that man! Now!

1123
01:04:40,544 --> 01:04:42,010
[Aaron] Oh, shit!

1124
01:04:44,648 --> 01:04:46,081
Wake up.

1125
01:04:46,483 --> 01:04:47,616
Wake up!

1126
01:04:49,119 --> 01:04:50,218
Cleo!

1127
01:05:05,402 --> 01:05:08,003
[ominous music]

1128
01:05:16,647 --> 01:05:18,480
[Aaron] Cleo! Cleo!

1129
01:05:19,549 --> 01:05:20,615
Wake up!

1130
01:05:20,617 --> 01:05:22,134
Wake up!

1131
01:05:22,135 --> 01:05:23,652
-[Cleo screams]
-[Aaron] Cleo, it's just me.

1132
01:05:23,654 --> 01:05:25,153
I know what's happening now.

1133
01:05:25,155 --> 01:05:27,389
[Harris] Freeze!
Back away from her now!

1134
01:05:27,391 --> 01:05:28,657
Okay. All right.

1135
01:05:29,927 --> 01:05:31,927
All right.

1136
01:05:31,928 --> 01:05:33,928
-No, Daddy, what are you doing?
-Get back in the house now!

1137
01:05:33,931 --> 01:05:35,447
Daddy, he didn't do anything!

1138
01:05:35,448 --> 01:05:36,964
Lock your door, Cleo!
Lock your door!

1139
01:05:36,967 --> 01:05:39,067
Daddy? He didn't do anything!

1140
01:05:40,170 --> 01:05:41,970
[heavy breathing]

1141
01:05:41,972 --> 01:05:43,038
[car door closes]

1142
01:05:46,710 --> 01:05:48,276
[Harris] Sit down.

1143
01:05:48,278 --> 01:05:49,611
[Aaron] You need
to protect Cleo.

1144
01:05:49,613 --> 01:05:51,513
What do you think
I'm doing right now?

1145
01:05:51,515 --> 01:05:53,014
-No, listen to me, okay?
-[scoffs]

1146
01:05:53,016 --> 01:05:54,449
Lock her door.

1147
01:05:54,451 --> 01:05:56,017
Stop her from sleepwalking!

1148
01:05:57,587 --> 01:05:58,954
Good night.

1149
01:05:58,956 --> 01:06:00,021
Please!

1150
01:06:03,527 --> 01:06:05,593
[ominous music]

1151
01:06:13,637 --> 01:06:15,170
[doorknob clicks]

1152
01:06:20,110 --> 01:06:22,043
-[door opens]
-[Cheryl] Rise and shine.

1153
01:06:23,280 --> 01:06:25,497
Bus leaves in three hours.

1154
01:06:25,498 --> 01:06:27,715
Detective Harris would really
appreciate it if you were on it.

1155
01:06:39,629 --> 01:06:41,329
-[Aaron] Hey.
-[Cleo] Aaron.

1156
01:06:43,266 --> 01:06:45,433
Look, you were right.

1157
01:06:45,435 --> 01:06:47,535
You've been cursed.

1158
01:06:47,537 --> 01:06:50,038
And this evil won't stop
until you're all dead.

1159
01:06:50,340 --> 01:06:52,507
[sighs]

1160
01:06:52,509 --> 01:06:54,342
But I think I know a way
to stop it.

1161
01:06:54,711 --> 01:06:56,011
How?

1162
01:06:56,012 --> 01:06:57,312
We have to go
to the church tonight.

1163
01:06:57,314 --> 01:06:59,080
There's something there
that can help us.

1164
01:06:59,082 --> 01:07:01,383
If my dad catches you...

1165
01:07:01,385 --> 01:07:02,684
Meet me there at ten o'clock.

1166
01:07:06,223 --> 01:07:08,023
What are you doing here?

1167
01:07:09,159 --> 01:07:10,658
I just wanted to say goodbye.

1168
01:07:13,430 --> 01:07:16,064
[crickets chirping]

1169
01:07:17,234 --> 01:07:18,566
[glass shatters]

1170
01:07:19,703 --> 01:07:21,469
-[door opens]
-[Aaron] Stay close.

1171
01:07:22,539 --> 01:07:24,172
It's right over here.

1172
01:07:25,042 --> 01:07:26,207
[door creaks open]

1173
01:07:28,245 --> 01:07:29,577
[clatters]

1174
01:07:31,248 --> 01:07:32,747
-It was right here.
-What?

1175
01:07:35,218 --> 01:07:36,518
What's it look like?

1176
01:07:37,554 --> 01:07:39,120
It's around here somewhere.

1177
01:07:39,523 --> 01:07:41,122
Try over there.

1178
01:07:41,124 --> 01:07:42,590
[door opens]

1179
01:07:43,560 --> 01:07:44,726
[clatters]

1180
01:07:53,637 --> 01:07:56,805
[screams]

1181
01:07:57,641 --> 01:07:59,607
Oh, my god!

1182
01:08:02,279 --> 01:08:04,612
[Cleo] Every night,
this gets worse and worse.

1183
01:08:05,549 --> 01:08:07,148
I'm gonna die.

1184
01:08:07,150 --> 01:08:09,250
I can't control what happens
in my dreams.

1185
01:08:09,252 --> 01:08:12,220
-Yeah, but I can.
-What?

1186
01:08:12,222 --> 01:08:13,788
Last night, I didn't just see
what you were dreaming.

1187
01:08:13,790 --> 01:08:15,423
I was in it, okay?

1188
01:08:15,425 --> 01:08:17,158
I could change things.

1189
01:08:17,160 --> 01:08:18,827
It's gonna sound crazy.

1190
01:08:18,829 --> 01:08:20,428
We are way past crazy.

1191
01:08:22,666 --> 01:08:24,166
My grandfather.

1192
01:08:24,167 --> 01:08:25,667
I always thought he was trying
to send me away

1193
01:08:25,669 --> 01:08:27,302
'cause he didn't want to deal.

1194
01:08:27,304 --> 01:08:28,636
He was trying to protect me.

1195
01:08:29,639 --> 01:08:31,306
Prepare me.

1196
01:08:31,308 --> 01:08:32,574
Prepare you for what?

1197
01:08:33,677 --> 01:08:34,742
For this.

1198
01:08:35,812 --> 01:08:37,312
[car approaches]

1199
01:08:45,689 --> 01:08:47,539
Dad's at the station.

1200
01:08:47,540 --> 01:08:49,390
-[Aaron] You sure?
-Yeah, I geotagged his phone.

1201
01:08:49,392 --> 01:08:51,292
Grab some blankets,
something warm to wear, okay?

1202
01:08:57,634 --> 01:08:59,901
[eerie music]

1203
01:09:03,406 --> 01:09:04,572
[engine starts]

1204
01:09:06,276 --> 01:09:08,510
[engine revs]

1205
01:09:26,296 --> 01:09:27,729
I'm so tired.

1206
01:09:30,167 --> 01:09:31,399
Sleep.

1207
01:09:32,369 --> 01:09:33,635
This will all end tonight.

1208
01:09:52,689 --> 01:09:54,956
[ominous music]

1209
01:09:58,895 --> 01:10:00,228
Take me to her.

1210
01:10:07,737 --> 01:10:10,238
[Mary sobbing]

1211
01:10:12,375 --> 01:10:14,642
[indistinct arguing]

1212
01:10:14,644 --> 01:10:16,844
[Mary wails]

1213
01:10:16,846 --> 01:10:18,596
[John] You think I didn't know

1214
01:10:18,597 --> 01:10:20,347
what you and that filthy slave
were up to?

1215
01:10:20,350 --> 01:10:22,317
Now look at you!

1216
01:10:22,318 --> 01:10:24,285
With this nigger baby
inside you.

1217
01:10:24,287 --> 01:10:26,321
[Mary] This is your baby!
Please.

1218
01:10:26,323 --> 01:10:27,956
-[John] That is not my child!
-[Mary] What are you doing?

1219
01:10:27,958 --> 01:10:30,258
-[John] Filthy whore!
-[Mary] You've gone crazy, John!

1220
01:10:30,994 --> 01:10:32,260
No, no, no!

1221
01:10:32,262 --> 01:10:34,229
-Cleo!
-[crashes]

1222
01:10:34,231 --> 01:10:35,530
-[Aaron] Stop!
-[Mary] Jordy! Help me!

1223
01:10:35,532 --> 01:10:36,798
-[Mary] He'd gone crazy!
-How dare you walk

1224
01:10:36,800 --> 01:10:39,667
into my house,
you filthy goddamn nigger!

1225
01:10:40,537 --> 01:10:41,769
Help me! Help!

1226
01:10:41,771 --> 01:10:42,837
-[grunts]
-[gun cocks]

1227
01:10:43,473 --> 01:10:44,806
[gunshot]

1228
01:10:44,808 --> 01:10:46,874
[tense music]

1229
01:10:47,877 --> 01:10:49,010
[John grunts]

1230
01:10:49,012 --> 01:10:51,446
[Mary] John! Leave him alone!

1231
01:10:51,448 --> 01:10:53,414
[John] You have defiled
my marriage

1232
01:10:53,416 --> 01:10:55,250
and now you are going to die!

1233
01:10:55,252 --> 01:10:56,818
[groans]

1234
01:10:56,820 --> 01:10:57,919
-[thuds]
-[Aaron grunts]

1235
01:10:58,955 --> 01:11:00,255
[Mary sobbing]

1236
01:11:01,524 --> 01:11:02,590
-[thuds]
-[grunts]

1237
01:11:08,365 --> 01:11:09,464
-[gunshot]
-[groans]

1238
01:11:11,768 --> 01:11:13,568
-[body thuds]
-[Mary gasping]

1239
01:11:13,570 --> 01:11:14,902
-[Mary whimpers]
-[body thuds]

1240
01:11:26,383 --> 01:11:28,449
[suspenseful music]

1241
01:11:29,319 --> 01:11:30,551
[groans]

1242
01:11:35,392 --> 01:11:37,625
[Becky] Come on!
Get back in here and do it!

1243
01:11:37,627 --> 01:11:38,860
You promised.

1244
01:11:38,862 --> 01:11:39,927
Shit.

1245
01:11:45,635 --> 01:11:47,035
[sighs]
Okay.

1246
01:11:49,039 --> 01:11:50,772
What are you doing?

1247
01:11:50,774 --> 01:11:52,473
Do you dare me?

1248
01:11:52,475 --> 01:11:54,809
Cleo, do not honk
that horn, okay?

1249
01:11:54,811 --> 01:11:56,511
You mean this horn?

1250
01:11:56,513 --> 01:11:57,612
[horn honking]

1251
01:11:59,416 --> 01:12:01,482
[tense music]

1252
01:12:07,357 --> 01:12:08,523
Wait, who's Cleo?

1253
01:12:08,525 --> 01:12:10,325
-[screams]
-[man grunting]

1254
01:12:10,327 --> 01:12:11,526
Cleo!

1255
01:12:11,528 --> 01:12:13,594
Cleo!

1256
01:12:13,596 --> 01:12:14,862
-[Albino man grunts]
-[yelps]

1257
01:12:16,499 --> 01:12:17,665
[Albino man yells]

1258
01:12:19,502 --> 01:12:21,102
-[bone cracks]
-[Albino man screams]

1259
01:12:22,005 --> 01:12:24,038
[Albino man panting]

1260
01:12:25,842 --> 01:12:28,109
[growls, pants]

1261
01:12:28,111 --> 01:12:30,511
-[squelching]
-[Albino man yells]

1262
01:12:31,114 --> 01:12:33,448
[panting]

1263
01:12:33,450 --> 01:12:35,016
You've gotta be
fucking kidding me.

1264
01:12:35,719 --> 01:12:36,818
[grunts]

1265
01:12:38,455 --> 01:12:40,488
[squelching]

1266
01:12:40,490 --> 01:12:42,457
[blood trickling]

1267
01:12:42,459 --> 01:12:44,492
[grunting]

1268
01:12:45,362 --> 01:12:47,762
[tense music]

1269
01:12:51,401 --> 01:12:52,500
[thuds]

1270
01:12:53,002 --> 01:12:54,068
Oh!

1271
01:12:54,070 --> 01:12:55,803
-[thuds]
-[blade rasps]

1272
01:12:59,743 --> 01:13:00,342
[grunts]

1273
01:13:00,343 --> 01:13:00,942
-[scythe pierces flesh]
-[Becky grunts]

1274
01:13:02,912 --> 01:13:04,445
[blood gushing]

1275
01:13:04,981 --> 01:13:06,514
[body thuds]

1276
01:13:07,550 --> 01:13:09,117
[pants]

1277
01:13:15,458 --> 01:13:16,958
[Cleo] Jesus, it's Derek.

1278
01:13:18,762 --> 01:13:20,195
Cleo, is that you?

1279
01:13:20,196 --> 01:13:21,629
Yes, Aaron,
what the hell is going on?

1280
01:13:22,432 --> 01:13:23,598
[shrieks]

1281
01:13:23,600 --> 01:13:25,400
[Jonathan]
...wretch did confess her sins.

1282
01:13:26,436 --> 01:13:27,535
[Jonathan]
Shall ye confess anon?

1283
01:13:27,537 --> 01:13:31,606
[Jonathan] Confess to defiling
the name of the one true Lord?

1284
01:13:31,608 --> 01:13:32,807
For it is written,

1285
01:13:32,809 --> 01:13:34,876
thou shalt worship
the Lord thy God,

1286
01:13:34,878 --> 01:13:36,944
and him only shalt thou serve.

1287
01:13:36,946 --> 01:13:40,915
Draw nigh to God
and he will draw nigh to you.

1288
01:13:40,917 --> 01:13:42,450
-[sisters chanting]
-[Jonathan] Cleanse your hands,

1289
01:13:42,452 --> 01:13:43,050
ye sinners.

1290
01:13:43,052 --> 01:13:47,121
[Jonathan] And purify
your hearts, ye double-minded.

1291
01:13:47,123 --> 01:13:49,056
-Be afflicted,
-[flame roars]

1292
01:13:49,058 --> 01:13:51,125
and mourn and weep.

1293
01:13:51,127 --> 01:13:53,461
The fire shall cleanse,

1294
01:13:53,463 --> 01:13:55,430
and burn away your damnation.

1295
01:13:55,432 --> 01:13:57,532
-[chanting continues]
-Come and you'll burn.

1296
01:13:57,534 --> 01:14:00,768
[Jonathan] Your soul will burn
and abate in the ashes!

1297
01:14:01,538 --> 01:14:02,637
You!

1298
01:14:04,040 --> 01:14:07,008
You shall burn
the brightest of all.

1299
01:14:11,581 --> 01:14:13,047
-[thwacks]
-[Aaron grunts]

1300
01:14:30,533 --> 01:14:31,799
-[knife pierces flesh]
-[Jonathan groans]

1301
01:14:33,770 --> 01:14:35,770
-[knife piercing flesh]
-[groans, chokes]

1302
01:14:39,676 --> 01:14:40,875
-[squelches]
-[groans]

1303
01:14:48,251 --> 01:14:51,886
[suspenseful music]

1304
01:14:51,888 --> 01:14:53,554
[Cleo] Where are my sisters?

1305
01:14:53,556 --> 01:14:55,256
[Aaron]
Cleo, I need you to wake up.

1306
01:14:55,258 --> 01:14:58,025
My sisters!
Where are my sisters?

1307
01:15:00,563 --> 01:15:02,029
[Aaron] Hey, hey, hey.

1308
01:15:02,031 --> 01:15:03,764
It's over.

1309
01:15:03,766 --> 01:15:05,533
Cleo, it's over. This isn't you.

1310
01:15:07,003 --> 01:15:08,603
-[distant growling]
-[Cleo sobbing]

1311
01:15:08,605 --> 01:15:10,738
[suspenseful music]

1312
01:15:12,609 --> 01:15:13,774
[snarling]

1313
01:15:13,776 --> 01:15:15,843
-[bones cracking]
-[low growling]

1314
01:15:19,949 --> 01:15:21,048
Let her go.

1315
01:15:21,050 --> 01:15:22,116
[snarls]

1316
01:15:22,118 --> 01:15:23,284
Let her go now!

1317
01:15:24,821 --> 01:15:26,087
[Stephanie groans]

1318
01:15:32,929 --> 01:15:34,562
[gasps]

1319
01:15:37,934 --> 01:15:39,200
[panting]

1320
01:15:41,070 --> 01:15:42,136
[Cleo] Aaron?

1321
01:15:43,606 --> 01:15:46,107
-[Aaron] Cleo, it's you!
-Oh, my god.

1322
01:15:46,109 --> 01:15:48,175
Five years, five souls,
and by thine own hand.

1323
01:15:48,177 --> 01:15:50,044
Five years, five souls,
and by thine own hand.

1324
01:15:50,046 --> 01:15:52,280
-[Aaron] Cleo, wait!
-Aaron, we were so wrong.

1325
01:15:52,282 --> 01:15:54,148
I saw everything.
I saw everything!

1326
01:15:54,150 --> 01:15:55,216
I know what it wants!

1327
01:15:55,218 --> 01:15:57,218
What are you talking about?

1328
01:15:57,220 --> 01:15:59,887
The three witches didn't put
a curse on Buckout Road.

1329
01:15:59,889 --> 01:16:03,157
They were binding the evil
that has always existed here.

1330
01:16:03,159 --> 01:16:05,660
In order to break the binding,
on the fifth year,

1331
01:16:05,662 --> 01:16:09,630
the road needs five sacrifices
by thine own hand.

1332
01:16:11,000 --> 01:16:12,233
Suicides.

1333
01:16:12,235 --> 01:16:14,002
Yeah.

1334
01:16:14,003 --> 01:16:15,770
[Cleo] Inna Geme ka
wasn't a curse.

1335
01:16:15,772 --> 01:16:18,272
It was meant to protect us.

1336
01:16:18,274 --> 01:16:20,575
-He's coming.
-Who?

1337
01:16:20,577 --> 01:16:22,777
I know what we have to do.
We just have to wake up!

1338
01:16:22,779 --> 01:16:23,844
-[pitchfork pierces flesh]
-[Cleo groans]

1339
01:16:23,846 --> 01:16:25,079
Die, witch. Die!

1340
01:16:25,081 --> 01:16:26,147
[Cleo gasps]

1341
01:16:26,149 --> 01:16:28,182
-No, no, no.
-[Cleo groans]

1342
01:16:28,184 --> 01:16:29,717
-[grunts]
-No. No.

1343
01:16:33,890 --> 01:16:35,122
[groans]

1344
01:16:36,225 --> 01:16:37,592
[sharp exhale]

1345
01:16:38,795 --> 01:16:39,860
[Cleo] Wake up.

1346
01:16:40,129 --> 01:16:41,963
[gasps]

1347
01:16:41,965 --> 01:16:44,599
[Aaron] Oh, no. No, no, no.

1348
01:16:45,201 --> 01:16:46,601
Oh, god.

1349
01:16:49,038 --> 01:16:51,205
[dramatic music]

1350
01:16:59,182 --> 01:17:02,049
[sirens approaching]

1351
01:17:05,688 --> 01:17:07,788
[sirens wailing]

1352
01:17:07,790 --> 01:17:09,440
[Maitland]
Let me see your hands!

1353
01:17:09,441 --> 01:17:11,091
Drop that knife!
Get down on your knees!

1354
01:17:11,794 --> 01:17:13,961
[dramatic music]

1355
01:17:15,398 --> 01:17:19,033
[inaudible dialogue]

1356
01:17:25,341 --> 01:17:28,042
[dramatic music continues]

1357
01:17:38,187 --> 01:17:40,921
[dramatic music continues]

1358
01:17:57,707 --> 01:18:00,274
[somber music]

1359
01:18:06,315 --> 01:18:07,882
[Maitland]Do yourself a favor.

1360
01:18:08,818 --> 01:18:10,017
Confess.

1361
01:18:11,721 --> 01:18:14,355
Manslaughter, you're out in ten.

1362
01:18:14,357 --> 01:18:17,058
But if you make us
do the work on this,

1363
01:18:17,060 --> 01:18:19,093
we're going to hit you
with murder.

1364
01:18:19,095 --> 01:18:20,261
First degree.

1365
01:18:20,263 --> 01:18:21,896
-[loud thud]
-You hear me?

1366
01:18:28,838 --> 01:18:30,037
[door closes]

1367
01:18:33,476 --> 01:18:37,978
The advantage of
a small-town police station.

1368
01:18:37,980 --> 01:18:39,113
[clicks]

1369
01:18:39,482 --> 01:18:40,781
Privacy.

1370
01:18:43,886 --> 01:18:45,086
Good news.

1371
01:18:47,356 --> 01:18:48,923
Cleo survived.

1372
01:18:50,193 --> 01:18:51,959
I want a lawyer.

1373
01:18:51,961 --> 01:18:53,394
Don't you worry.
Where you're going,

1374
01:18:53,396 --> 01:18:55,863
you'll have plenty of lawyers
to choose from.

1375
01:18:57,100 --> 01:18:58,899
See the thing is, Aaron,

1376
01:19:00,136 --> 01:19:03,137
I am very good at what I do.

1377
01:19:04,474 --> 01:19:06,040
I'll bet you think
you changed something.

1378
01:19:06,042 --> 01:19:09,744
That you brought down
some sort of divine providence.

1379
01:19:09,746 --> 01:19:11,045
Well, this is a cycle...

1380
01:19:12,281 --> 01:19:13,881
son.

1381
01:19:13,883 --> 01:19:16,217
And it's unending.

1382
01:19:16,219 --> 01:19:19,353
Anything you think you changed,
you didn't.

1383
01:19:20,389 --> 01:19:22,490
Nothing changes.

1384
01:19:22,492 --> 01:19:25,192
[Harris]
It's been this way forever.

1385
01:19:25,194 --> 01:19:28,229
My job is to make sure
that if a sacrifice is required,

1386
01:19:28,231 --> 01:19:30,231
everything runs smoothly.

1387
01:19:31,000 --> 01:19:33,267
[ominous music]

1388
01:19:36,973 --> 01:19:38,806
[Harris] I no longer question.

1389
01:19:47,884 --> 01:19:50,384
Back then there may have been
more of a ritual.

1390
01:19:52,321 --> 01:19:54,321
-But the job...
-[brakes squeal]

1391
01:19:54,323 --> 01:19:56,123
has always remained the same.

1392
01:19:57,193 --> 01:19:59,360
[engine rumbling]

1393
01:20:03,199 --> 01:20:06,534
[Harris] Every five years,
he must have his sacrifices.

1394
01:20:08,871 --> 01:20:13,107
I'll admit, my job is a lot
easier if you don't have faith.

1395
01:20:16,379 --> 01:20:18,946
But faith makes you competitive.

1396
01:20:20,116 --> 01:20:22,850
Faith makes you dangerous.

1397
01:20:27,557 --> 01:20:31,559
And that's when I'm required
to get a little more hands on.

1398
01:20:32,962 --> 01:20:35,162
[dramatic music]

1399
01:20:37,466 --> 01:20:38,833
[doorknob clicks]

1400
01:20:40,536 --> 01:20:44,238
[Harris] You know what the
difference is between our sides?

1401
01:20:45,274 --> 01:20:48,242
[clinking]

1402
01:20:48,244 --> 01:20:52,413
Your God would never allow
Abraham to sacrifice his son.

1403
01:21:00,590 --> 01:21:03,057
Not because
Abraham wasn't faithful.

1404
01:21:04,527 --> 01:21:06,560
Because your God...

1405
01:21:06,562 --> 01:21:09,029
doesn't have the balls.

1406
01:21:13,169 --> 01:21:15,202
-Dad's at the station.
-You sure?

1407
01:21:15,204 --> 01:21:17,037
Yeah, I geotagged his phone.

1408
01:21:17,039 --> 01:21:18,973
Grab some blankets,
something warm to wear, okay?

1409
01:21:26,115 --> 01:21:29,984
[Harris] When you are called,
you serve.

1410
01:21:29,986 --> 01:21:33,087
When you serve,
you are rewarded.

1411
01:21:33,089 --> 01:21:36,457
By thine own hand, by my hand.

1412
01:21:36,459 --> 01:21:38,225
It really doesn't matter.

1413
01:21:39,428 --> 01:21:41,495
It's all His hand.

1414
01:21:43,266 --> 01:21:45,466
[dramatic music]

1415
01:21:59,248 --> 01:22:00,915
[Harris] I am his emissary.

1416
01:22:01,951 --> 01:22:03,918
I am his vessel.

1417
01:22:05,388 --> 01:22:08,155
And I will get my reward.

1418
01:22:12,061 --> 01:22:15,229
You see, 15 years ago,
I was given a test.

1419
01:22:17,233 --> 01:22:18,499
[Harris] Your parents.

1420
01:22:22,471 --> 01:22:26,140
[Harris] And with every test
I pass, I grow stronger,

1421
01:22:27,376 --> 01:22:29,009
more supported.

1422
01:22:29,011 --> 01:22:31,145
More protected.

1423
01:22:31,147 --> 01:22:36,116
And now, my friend,
I am too big to fail.

1424
01:22:36,118 --> 01:22:40,087
You, on the other hand,
have failed at every turn.

1425
01:22:40,089 --> 01:22:42,589
I have taken everything
from you,

1426
01:22:42,591 --> 01:22:46,060
but now I'm giving you
a chance to pass your test.

1427
01:22:47,163 --> 01:22:49,430
Tonight, in your cell,

1428
01:22:49,432 --> 01:22:52,633
you will find a very sharp knife
under your pillow.

1429
01:22:53,602 --> 01:22:54,735
And maybe,

1430
01:22:56,205 --> 01:22:58,072
you cut your veins,

1431
01:22:58,074 --> 01:22:59,740
and you sleep.

1432
01:22:59,742 --> 01:23:02,376
[Harris] Think about Cleo.

1433
01:23:02,378 --> 01:23:06,246
Do you really want her
to suffer night after night?

1434
01:23:07,984 --> 01:23:10,351
Take your life
and I can promise you,

1435
01:23:10,353 --> 01:23:11,986
Cleo will be safe.

1436
01:23:12,989 --> 01:23:14,288
The dreams will end.

1437
01:23:16,392 --> 01:23:18,192
But if you don't,

1438
01:23:18,194 --> 01:23:21,462
you will be stuck in a hell
that is never-ending,

1439
01:23:21,464 --> 01:23:24,732
and you will die regardless
and it'll be for nothing.

1440
01:23:26,102 --> 01:23:28,635
Have your sacrifice
mean something.

1441
01:23:30,306 --> 01:23:31,572
Save Cleo.

1442
01:23:33,109 --> 01:23:35,309
Pass your test.

1443
01:23:41,617 --> 01:23:44,318
He is coming.

1444
01:23:44,320 --> 01:23:47,721
And there is nothing
that you can do about it.

1445
01:23:47,723 --> 01:23:49,623
-[thuds]
-[grunts]

1446
01:23:49,625 --> 01:23:51,792
[tense music]

1447
01:23:57,299 --> 01:23:59,266
He may be coming,

1448
01:23:59,268 --> 01:24:00,534
but he ain't coming tonight!

1449
01:24:03,205 --> 01:24:04,304
[Maitland] Hey!

1450
01:24:05,174 --> 01:24:07,041
Come here, you.

1451
01:24:07,309 --> 01:24:08,375
[grunts]

1452
01:24:09,645 --> 01:24:11,412
[groans]

1453
01:24:13,516 --> 01:24:14,748
[thuds]

1454
01:24:14,750 --> 01:24:16,083
[Maitland]
What the hell happened?

1455
01:24:16,085 --> 01:24:17,618
The kid went off.

1456
01:24:17,620 --> 01:24:19,220
-He snapped.
-[Aaron coughs]

1457
01:24:19,221 --> 01:24:20,821
[Maitland] You are going away
for a long time.

1458
01:24:20,823 --> 01:24:22,089
Come on.

1459
01:24:22,625 --> 01:24:23,690
You see?

1460
01:24:24,427 --> 01:24:25,626
It's like I said.

1461
01:24:26,228 --> 01:24:27,394
Protected.

1462
01:24:28,431 --> 01:24:29,563
[Maitland] Come on!

1463
01:24:32,201 --> 01:24:34,401
[somber music]

1464
01:24:36,439 --> 01:24:38,405
[indistinct chatter]

1465
01:24:46,715 --> 01:24:49,383
[doctor] This is the commissary.
I mentioned Harold.

1466
01:24:49,385 --> 01:24:51,652
Harold! You having a good day?

1467
01:24:53,322 --> 01:24:54,421
Good!

1468
01:24:55,591 --> 01:24:58,425
And this is Aaron Powell.

1469
01:24:58,427 --> 01:25:00,494
Admitted five years ago.

1470
01:25:00,496 --> 01:25:04,765
Convicted of multiple homicides
and attempted murder.

1471
01:25:04,767 --> 01:25:07,534
Reportedly there's a history
of psychotic episodes.

1472
01:25:08,737 --> 01:25:11,138
But I haven't seen
a single one yet.

1473
01:25:11,140 --> 01:25:14,174
In fact, he hasn't spoken a word
since he arrived.

1474
01:25:14,176 --> 01:25:17,578
Most days he sits by this window
and stares out at the grounds.

1475
01:25:18,614 --> 01:25:21,748
[ominous music]

1476
01:25:53,816 --> 01:25:56,183
[ominous music continues]

1477
01:26:08,831 --> 01:26:10,831
Okay.

1478
01:26:32,721 --> 01:26:34,588
[Aaron breathing slowly]

1479
01:26:40,563 --> 01:26:41,628
[orderly chuckles]

1480
01:26:42,431 --> 01:26:43,597
Sweet dreams.

1481
01:26:56,312 --> 01:26:57,511
These assholes again?

1482
01:26:58,681 --> 01:27:00,214
[sighs]

1483
01:27:00,216 --> 01:27:02,282
[Aaron] I just fought these guys
three nights ago.

1484
01:27:03,319 --> 01:27:04,618
[Cleo] Hey, soldier boy.

1485
01:27:07,890 --> 01:27:08,956
Cleo?

1486
01:27:14,630 --> 01:27:15,896
Are you really here?

1487
01:27:17,633 --> 01:27:19,466
You've been at this a long time.

1488
01:27:20,803 --> 01:27:22,336
Night after night.

1489
01:27:23,005 --> 01:27:24,404
You never gave up.

1490
01:27:26,875 --> 01:27:28,308
You did this for me.

1491
01:27:29,745 --> 01:27:30,844
[Cleo] Hey.

1492
01:27:37,853 --> 01:27:40,520
["New Noise" by Refused playing]

1493
01:27:40,522 --> 01:27:42,789
What do you say we kick
these guys' ass and go home?

1494
01:27:43,459 --> 01:27:44,591
Yeah, all right.

1495
01:27:45,728 --> 01:27:47,261
¶ Can I scream? ¶

1496
01:27:48,697 --> 01:27:50,330
¶ Can I? ¶

1497
01:27:51,400 --> 01:27:54,301
¶ We lack the motion ¶

1498
01:27:54,303 --> 01:27:56,270
¶ To move to the new beat. ¶

1499
01:27:57,339 --> 01:27:58,672
¶ Woo ¶

1500
01:28:00,542 --> 01:28:03,443
¶ We lack the motion ¶

1501
01:28:03,445 --> 01:28:05,379
¶ To move to the new beat. ¶

1502
01:28:05,381 --> 01:28:06,980
¶ It's here for us to admire ¶

1503
01:28:06,982 --> 01:28:09,316
¶ If we can afford
The beauty of it. ¶

1504
01:28:09,318 --> 01:28:11,518
¶ Can afford the luxury
Of turning our heads. ¶

1505
01:28:11,520 --> 01:28:13,687
¶ If we tried, if we tried
If we tried! ¶

1506
01:28:13,689 --> 01:28:15,989
¶ Adjust
The thousand-dollar smile ¶

1507
01:28:15,991 --> 01:28:18,458
¶ And behold
The creation of man ¶

1508
01:28:18,460 --> 01:28:20,761
¶ Great words won't
Cover ugly actions ¶

1509
01:28:20,763 --> 01:28:23,030
¶ Good frames
Won't save bad paintings ¶

1510
01:28:24,933 --> 01:28:26,333
¶ Woo ¶

1511
01:28:27,770 --> 01:28:30,570
¶ We lack the motion ¶

1512
01:28:30,572 --> 01:28:32,372
¶ To move to the new beat ¶

1513
01:28:33,609 --> 01:28:34,908
¶ Yeah ¶

1514
01:28:36,845 --> 01:28:41,782
¶ We lack motion ¶

1515
01:28:41,784 --> 01:28:43,917
-¶ When the day's over ¶
-¶ Hey ¶

1516
01:28:43,919 --> 01:28:46,320
¶ And the doors
Are locked on us ¶

1517
01:28:46,322 --> 01:28:48,055
¶ Money buys the access ¶

1518
01:28:48,057 --> 01:28:50,357
¶ And we can't pay the cost ¶

1519
01:28:50,359 --> 01:28:52,459
¶ How can we expect
Anyone to listen ¶

1520
01:28:52,461 --> 01:28:54,528
¶ If we're using
The same old voice ¶

1521
01:28:54,530 --> 01:28:56,930
¶ We need new noise ¶

1522
01:28:56,932 --> 01:28:59,333
¶ New art for the real people ¶

1523
01:28:59,335 --> 01:29:01,735
¶ We dance
To all the wrong songs ¶

1524
01:29:01,737 --> 01:29:03,704
¶ We enjoy all the wrong moves ¶

1525
01:29:03,706 --> 01:29:05,839
¶ We dance
To all the wrong songs ¶

1526
01:29:05,841 --> 01:29:08,508
¶ We're not, leading ¶

1527
01:29:08,510 --> 01:29:10,577
¶ We dance
To all the wrong songs ¶

1528
01:29:10,579 --> 01:29:12,813
¶ We enjoy all the wrong moves ¶

1529
01:29:12,815 --> 01:29:14,981
¶ We dance
To all the wrong songs ¶

1530
01:29:14,983 --> 01:29:17,351
¶ We're not, we're not ¶

1531
01:29:17,353 --> 01:29:19,653
¶ We're not, we're not ¶

1532
01:29:19,655 --> 01:29:21,788
¶ We're not, we're not ¶

1533
01:29:24,360 --> 01:29:25,992
¶ Leading ¶

1534
01:29:43,712 --> 01:29:45,812
¶ We dance
To all the wrong songs ¶

1535
01:29:45,814 --> 01:29:48,014
¶ We enjoy all the wrong moves ¶

1536
01:29:48,016 --> 01:29:50,584
¶ We dance
To all the wrong songs ¶

1537
01:29:52,788 --> 01:29:54,921
¶ We dance
To all the wrong songs ¶

1538
01:29:54,923 --> 01:29:57,391
¶ We enjoy all the wrong moves ¶

1539
01:29:57,393 --> 01:29:59,626
¶ We dance
To all the wrong songs ¶

1540
01:30:27,823 --> 01:30:29,089
¶ Here we go ¶

1541
01:31:05,060 --> 01:31:07,761
¶ We dance
To all the wrong songs ¶

1542
01:31:07,763 --> 01:31:09,763
¶ We enjoy all the wrong moves ¶

1543
01:31:09,765 --> 01:31:11,898
¶ We dance
To all the wrong songs ¶

1544
01:31:11,900 --> 01:31:13,166
¶ We're not ¶

1545
01:31:14,102 --> 01:31:16,203
¶ Leading ¶

1546
01:31:16,205 --> 01:31:17,504
¶ Yeah ¶

1547
01:31:18,707 --> 01:31:19,840
¶ Yeah ¶

1548
01:31:20,843 --> 01:31:21,975
¶ Yeah ¶

1549
01:31:23,145 --> 01:31:25,946
¶ The new beat, the new beat ¶

1550
01:31:25,948 --> 01:31:28,114
¶ The new beat, the new beat ¶

1551
01:31:28,116 --> 01:31:30,517
¶ The new beat, the new beat ¶

1552
01:31:30,519 --> 01:31:32,719
¶ The new beat, the new beat ¶

1553
01:31:32,721 --> 01:31:35,088
¶ The new beat, the new beat ¶

1554
01:31:35,090 --> 01:31:37,624
¶ The new beat, the new beat ¶

1555
01:31:37,626 --> 01:31:40,060
¶ The new beat, the new beat ¶

1556
01:31:40,062 --> 01:31:42,829
¶ The new beat, the new beat ¶

1557
01:31:42,831 --> 01:31:43,897
[vocalist] Thank you.

1558
01:31:47,736 --> 01:31:50,070
["Do You Want to Die Together"
by Stars playing]

1559
01:32:03,285 --> 01:32:06,653
¶ I love you
Till the day I die ¶

1560
01:32:06,655 --> 01:32:10,223
¶ So don't die today
Please don't die today ¶

1561
01:32:10,225 --> 01:32:13,927
¶ Everything but you
Is an ugly lie ¶

1562
01:32:13,929 --> 01:32:17,631
¶ That's not how you pray
That's not what you say ¶

1563
01:32:17,633 --> 01:32:21,167
¶ If I'm here when you're gone
I'll fall apart ¶

1564
01:32:21,169 --> 01:32:24,771
¶ Stop your crying now
Stop your crying now ¶

1565
01:32:24,773 --> 01:32:28,675
¶ What's the point of life
Without my heart ¶

1566
01:32:28,677 --> 01:32:31,545
¶ You're not dying now
You'll survive somehow ¶

1567
01:32:31,547 --> 01:32:35,549
¶ Do you want to die together? ¶

1568
01:32:35,551 --> 01:32:38,618
¶ Yes I do, yes I do ¶

1569
01:32:38,620 --> 01:32:42,689
¶ Do you want to die together? ¶

1570
01:32:42,691 --> 01:32:45,759
¶ Yes I do, yes I do ¶

1571
01:32:45,761 --> 01:32:49,896
¶ Do you want to die together? ¶

1572
01:32:49,898 --> 01:32:52,933
¶ Yes I do, yes I do ¶

1573
01:32:52,935 --> 01:32:55,969
¶ Do you want to die ¶

1574
01:32:57,339 --> 01:32:58,705
¶ Together? ¶

1575
01:33:15,624 --> 01:33:18,825
¶ It's been the night
Since you've been gone ¶

1576
01:33:18,827 --> 01:33:22,329
¶ Please I have to go
Please, please let me go ¶

1577
01:33:22,331 --> 01:33:25,966
¶ What's the use of writing
One more song? ¶

1578
01:33:25,968 --> 01:33:29,703
¶ 'Cause it's what you know
'Cause it's what you know ¶

1579
01:33:29,705 --> 01:33:33,139
¶ It was you and me
That's what you said ¶

1580
01:33:33,141 --> 01:33:36,876
¶ And it's always true
Aren't I here with you? ¶

1581
01:33:36,878 --> 01:33:40,246
¶ I may look alive
But inside I'm dead ¶

1582
01:33:40,248 --> 01:33:43,917
¶ Then let's make it true
Let's make it true ¶

1583
01:33:43,919 --> 01:33:47,187
¶ Do you want to die together? ¶

1584
01:33:47,189 --> 01:33:50,357
¶ Yes I do, yes I do ¶

1585
01:33:50,359 --> 01:33:54,361
¶ Do you want to die together? ¶

1586
01:33:54,363 --> 01:33:57,664
¶ Yes I do, yes I do ¶

1587
01:33:57,666 --> 01:34:01,801
¶ Do you want to die together? ¶

1588
01:34:01,803 --> 01:34:05,005
¶ Yes I do, yes I do ¶

1589
01:34:05,007 --> 01:34:09,743
¶ Do you want to die ¶

1590
01:34:09,745 --> 01:34:10,977
¶ Together? ¶

1591
01:34:10,979 --> 01:34:14,014
¶ Yes I do, yes I do ¶

1592
01:34:50,385 --> 01:34:53,053
[ominous music]
