  1. Global (also known as Global Media & Entertainment) is a British media company formed in 2007, after it had purchased Chrysalis Radio. It owns and operates six core radio brands, five of which employ a national network strategy. Global also owns and operates one of the leading Out-of-home advertising (OOH) companies in the UK through its Outdoor Division.

  4. Heart is a radio network of 40 adult contemporary local stations operated by Global in the United Kingdom, broadcasting a mix of local and networked programming. The national version of the network is widely available on Freeview, Sky, Freesat, Virgin Media, DAB and online.
  5.
  6. Heart's core audience is 25-44 adults with female friendly and male credible programming. Listeners connect with Heart because they want music in their lives, whatever they are doing, however they are feeling. Heart plays the right songs to get them up in the mornings, keep them going through the day and keep them entertained throughout the week.
  7.
  8. Heart has real people on the radio, not clichéd DJ-isms. Presenters are warm, friendly, down to earth and relatable, broadcasting appropriate and relevant content that immediately connects with listeners’ lives.
  9.
  10. Heart is programmed to enhance listeners' moods and through regular audience research, Heart fine-tunes the output to stay connected to the listeners geographically and emotionally to make sure the listeners are getting what they want every time they tune in.
  11.
  12. Heart’s audience is mature enough to know a broad range of music, and young enough to want to be kept up to date. The playlist is driven by passion, playing the songs they love today, pure and simple.
  13.
  14. The majority of programming is broadcast live from Heart's network studios in Bramley Road, London, however some output is automated and voice-tracked. Local programming is produced and broadcast live from the originating Heart station's studios and is broadcast from 6am-10am and 4pm-7pm on weekdays and 8am-12pm on Saturdays and Sundays. However, some news content is produced from neighbouring stations. For example, news bulletins for the network's Bath, Bristol, Somerset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire stations are produced from Bristol.
  15.
  16. In Anglesey and Gwynedd, Heart Cymru broadcasts local programming 24 hours a day as part of its Welsh language requirements - including presenter-led shows from 6 am – 7 pm on weekdays and 8 am – 4 pm at weekends. Welsh language music features in its playlist and local news bulletins are broadcast in both Welsh and English. As of May 2019, the station does not carry any Heart networked programming. The North Wales Coast, served by Heart North West and Wales on 96.3 FM, carries an hour-long Welsh-language music programme at 5 am on Sunday–Friday mornings and 7 am on Saturday mornings.
  17.
  18. The network runs a separate playlist on the stations in London, West Midlands and East Midlands during their local hours, in keeping with their softer Hot AC formats compered to the others which are more CHR orientated.
  19.
  20. All Heart stations broadcast local news bulletins each day – updates air hourly from 6am to 7pm on weekdays and from 8am to 12pm at weekends. In addition, headline bulletins are broadcast during weekday morning and drivetime shows. Short national news updates, read by LBC's duty newscaster, from Global's London headquarters air every hour at all other times. In accordance with OFCOM speech requirements, stations in the East Midlands and Cornwall also produce two extended ten-minute news programmes on weekdays, The Heart Morning Report from 6am to 6.10am and The Heart Report from 6pm to 6.10pm.

  113. Real Radio XS is an Independent Local Radio station serving Greater Manchester, broadcasting a mix of peak-time news, rock music and talk output. The station is owned and operated by Global and broadcasts from studios at Laser House in Salford.
  114.
  115. Real Radio XS is a rock station for 35–64 year olds. We play the best music from the 60s to today. It’s not about old music – it’s about great rock music. From the Rolling Stones to The Strokes we’ve got it covered. The older rock tunes provide emotional fuel and give rise to those ‘I love this tune!’ moments.
  116.
  117. New music is as relevant to our listeners as the vintage stuff. If you love rock, it doesn’t matter weather it was released in the seventies or last week: Great rock is great rock. We pick out the best new songs released by bands such as the White Stripes, the Thrills, Elbow and Granddaddy.
  118.
  119. There is also an hour a week devoted to brand spanking new tunes. We'll also keep you up to date with the news, weather, sport and travel for the North West, plus concert dates, record fairs, and other useful information too.
  120.
  121. Real Radio XS broadcasts bulletins containing a mix of Greater Manchester, UK and world news together with sport on the half-hour from 6:30am-5.30pm weekdays.
