Strengths: Strong intuition and insight. Highly proficient in analysis and deductive reasoning. Possesses vast and far-reaching amounts of knowledge regarding numerous subjects.
Weaknesses: Madly obsessed with the discovery of information and secrets, and is willing to put himself or others in danger in his pursuit of such. Suffers from a severe case of paranoia which prevents him from trusting anyone for long periods of time, and often causes him to act impulsively whenever he feels as if something is going to go wrong.
Fears:
-Being captured or killed for that which he has learned already. (A possibility which he believes to be very real)
-Destruction of information.
-Other people, and their potential for cruelty.
-The unknown, and more specifically, the dangers posed by that which is not properly understood.

Personality: A highly educated individual driven by his desire to learn the truths of the world. He is exceptionally well-mannered on the surface, but lurking underneath his polite exterior is a restless and severely paranoid individual with an almost compulsive thirst for knowledge.
While he much prefers to work alone, Lazarus has demonstrated an ability to cooperate with others whenever it is necessary, and will often make it a priority to aid those who would ally themselves with him. Despite this, however, he is distrustful of those around him and has a habit of analyzing their actions the way a mathematician would study a series of equations. He is abnormally cautious around those who spend long periods of time with him, and will repeatedly withhold information from them out of his own personal suspicion of their motives. Very rarely does he allow himself to grow close to anyone, and those he does develop a connection to are often left purposefully unaware of his attachment to them.
Lazarus' largest weakness is his fanatical obsession with knowledge and discovery. He will go to dangerous and extreme lengths in order to find out that which he feels is important to know, and especially elusive secrets have driven him to put himself and others in peril in his attempts to reach them. In particular, pursuing forbidden and confidential information has led the otherwise methodical man to make uncharacteristically reckless decisions as a means to further his goals.

Abilities:
* Adjustments: Over the years, Lazarus has used his limited magical knowledge to alter his body in ways that give him an edge in his pursuits. These "adjustments" include a right eye that can see in the dark and detect other beings through walls, a "speech trigger" in his mind that locates and identifies anyone who says his name out loud in whatever town, city or village he's in, mental shields that protect his mind and soul from outside influence, a "mind key" that allows him to open locks, and a "seeing line" in his left palm that allows him to gain information from whatever he touches with his left hand. Each one draws on his mental strength when activated, and can cause a degree of mental strain if used too often within a short period of time.
* Hedge Magic: While not a master of sorcery by any stretch of the imagination, Lazarus has learned a number of basic and intermediate magical spells, tailoring his arcane library around his goals of retrieving information and escaping from harm. He can turn himself invisible (and do the same with objects independent of him), render his movements silent, astrally project, speak to the dead, summon blinding flashes of light, and create portals to wherever he desires as long as he knows the exact coordinates. He also knows spells capable of putting people to sleep and binding people in place, though beings with exceptional willpower (and superhuman physical strength, in the case of the latter) are capable of resisting their effects.
* Sabre: A common sabre, only ever used in the event that Lazarus is forced to fight instead of flee. Particularly deadly in his hands, as the seeing line in his left palm has long since granted him knowledge of how to use it.
* Eternal Life: For reasons only known to the man himself, Lazarus does not age anymore. He is currently 97 years old, but appears to be in his mid-thirties.
