Sakito: Yo, today i'm going to interview k3nan who's known to be a pretty good old gens player as well as a driver on the RoA room.
Can you introduce yourself in a few lines ?

k3nan: i'm k3nan, Léo for friends. Mainly an ADV and GSC player, occasionally DPP as well as ORAS (tier that i mained when the games came out)

Sakito: What is your favorite Pokemon ?

k3nan: Competitively speaking, Tyranitar. Outstanding versatility for all generations. It is a safe and reliable value that fits into any type of build and will always do its job.

Sakito: What was your first Pokemon game and when did you get into Strategy ?

k3nan: I'm 24 years old, so i started Pokemon with the Red version. I started to be interested in strategy in 2007 with the Pearl version. I dropped when the 5th gen was out, to come back with XY. And since then i didn't give up.

Sakito: We know you mainly for being an old gen player, which one do you prefer and why ?

k3nan: I prefer ADV, it's above all a matter of habit. I find the tier fairly balanced in general terms. In my opinion, the number of the threats in the tier is perfect. There are not too much which makes the no-team preview really interesting and predictable enough to not be surprised at the last moment. The absence of items such as Choice Scarf or Life Orb, makes the tier less agressive compared to the more recent generations and i like that. For the teambuilding, it's also in this tier that i prefer working, especially in terms of EVs spreads, where i do not take any pleasure in GSC because i feel like everything has already been done.

Sakito: If you could change something in a tier, what would it be ?

k3nan: ban baton pass + boost in ADV.

Sakito: You already did spl, wcup and you reached finals of the last DPP Cup, what are your projects right now as a Smogon player ?

k3nan: Make a big performance in old gens obviously, a big record in spl/wcop or win a Classic. Even if now it seems more complicated since i'm not as active as i used to be.

Sakito: Your best and worst match memory ? you can share replays if you have any.

k3nan: My best memory is my serie against Earthworm in the quarter finals of the GSC Cup III. It was really this serie that propelled me on Smogon because it was decisive for my wcop slot with France. My worst memory is against choolio in spl 9. I had the control of the game during the 21 first turns it was a one way trip, until i click a useless fire blast against a burned misdreavus who's doing destiny bond. Yes it's nasty. (https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/smogtours-gen2ou-345062)

Sakito: Are there any players you are looking up to ?

k3nan: No, but there are players for who i have a lot of respect like Lavos, Earthworm, Ojama or Astamatitos because they are really huge players in terms of skill.

Sakito: Do you play other games in addition to Showdown ?

k3nan: I'm a Fifa player since the adolescence.
