- But there were a few times where more serious topics came up (immigration, settler colonialism for instance) came up and instead of letting the episode speak for itself - there are multiple times where the show gets pulled out of the moment and we are given clarification that what is happening is bad out of character.
- I found it took me out of the show to have the events happening "on screen" being defined strictly in a real world context OOC instead of trusting the audience and players to understand what is going on and why its bad. There's a lot of "these guys suck" or "this is fascism" which while absolutely true - makes me feel almost talked down to? idk
- Also, to a lesser extent, and especially in Sangfielle's case: FATT does an excellent job of using content warnings for what gets described in the episodes context, and even giving warnings in the episode itself when something is about to happen. But despite those content warning being there, a lot of punches get pulled and the story glosses over the dirty details to the point that the content warnings don't seem to be necessary.
- Austin talked about it a bit in the post-mortem that he was worried about viewership not enjoying horror, and thats what made it "click" for me in my mind about maybe WHY there may be re-assurances and pullbacks in other seasons.
- All that being said, still love the show and these are totally minor nitpicks - but they ARE a trend I noticed growing more and more as the seasons have progressed IMO.
