- Hello Mr. Hanson,
- Like so many other vulnerable people today, I was looking for a way to apply for the SBA's Payment Protection Program. I found your deceptive website, SBA.com, and followed the link to Lendio believing it to be endorsed by the government agency. I then provided to Lendio my application materials, including my identification and SSN. Now I am not able to contact anybody at your company, and there is no option to cancel my submission on your website. There is no other logical conclusion than that this is a scam to steal the identities of vulnerable people.
- I have two very simple requests that are within my rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:
- I request that you delete any personal information about me from your records, and that you instruct any service providers to delete any personal information about me from their records.
- I request confirmation in writing that all of my personal information has been deleted from your records and the records of any service providers.
- I am currently submitting a complaint of identity theft to the FTC. I then plan to contact the Better Business Bureau, the California Department of Business Oversight, and the SBA to alert them to this. I see you are on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter - I will be sure to post about my experiences on those platforms as well. I hope to hear from you before I finish these letters, as it will save us both additional headaches during these hard times.
- Stay safe and I appreciate your quick response to my inquiry.
