- [14:48] Thera exclaims, "The only other person that should have access is Noel, and he's resting- so!"
- [14:48] Thera claps her hands together.
- (Thera)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [14:48] Thera asks, "What are we dealing with?"
- [14:51] Ethan Hawke says, "A certain weapon."
- [14:51] Ethan Hawke says, "Reito and I have been working and purified it."
- [14:52] Ethan Hawke says, "It was host to a certain... presence."
- [14:52] Ethan Hawke says, "I thought it would be best to put another one within the weapon in order to have it be in working shape again."
- [14:52] Ethan Hawke says, "And I've got something I'm pretty sure we can work with."
- [14:56] "Ah." Thera nods, listening, placing a single hand upon the table, tapping her freshly painted nails away. There is a nod, once, twice, humming lightly as she ponders.
- "Well, what is that something?"
- (Thera)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [14:59] Ethan nodded. It was best to work with smaller things before moving on to the main event. From his clothes the young man pulled out what seemed to be a bottle of wine. Except the liquid inside of it was much, much darker.
- And moving.
- And had yellow eyes that stared into one's very soul. It was corrupted, very much so, and had a.. Well, sort of a physical form. It was mostly spirit.
- "There."
- (Ethan Hawke)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [14:59] {Item} You drop Bottled Corrupted Ichor x1.
- [15:09] "Ah-" She examines to contents of this strange bottle, gazing at the yellow-eyed creature. Thera's azure eyes shine bright, gazing at the creature with spirit sight, and despite this-
- She's unable to determine it's origins.
- "I've been in Purgatory, and seen the faces of the damned. I've watched fairies come to life, where the lifestream comes together. I've seen Nethradin, elementals, read stories about wardens, and could potentially assist someone in contacting avatars of the divine spirits, but this...?"
- Thera shrugs.
- "I'm uncertain. It's unique, powerful, but not enough to warrant calling upon Ohtli, and the others. Ah..hm. Elayna and I can assist with purifying, and relocating it, for sure.
- ...it's interesting, very interesting."
- Once finished examining the bottle, she passes it back to Ethan, eyes still glowing.
- (Thera)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [15:09] {Item} You picked up Bottled Corrupted Ichor. Dropped by Thera. .
- [15:15] Ethan nodded towards the girl, retrieving the bottle soon after and pocketing it somewhere no one would see. A smile was offered at Thera before he spoke up.
- "Good. I'm glad you can help— I knew you'd be able to handle something like that." He said, pausing for a moment. "So... Do you think it can be put in the weapon we've been working on? After we purify it, of course."
- He asked.
- (Ethan Hawke)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [15:20] "It can be bound to the weapon, sure, but the real issues is whether or not it wants this. It could choose to fight, to flee, to, well. Do anything, really." With that, pushes back against the stool, before rising.
- "Spirits aren't slaves, tools, or toys. They have their own wills, and personalities. Perhaps, you could form some sort of a...contract with it. Maybe."
- (Thera)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [15:21] Ethan Hawke says, "... I'd have to find something worth its time, then."
- [15:21] Thera says, "Of course, forcing your own will and diminion over it is possible, but that is, ah. Well. I don't think /that/ is the result you're searching for."
- [15:22] Ethan Hawke says, "Obviously not."
- [15:22] Ethan Hawke says, "That's why we worked on making that weapon a good home for it."
- [15:22] Thera says, "Once purified, you can speak with it, see what it wants, and desires, see where your interests allign, and proceed from there."
- [15:23] Ethan Hawke asks, "So we should work on its purification first, then, yeah?"
- [15:23] Thera says, "Mhm. Since it does have physical aspects, Reito could focus on cleansing those, while Elayna and I deal with the spirit itself."
- [15:23] Ethan Hawke says, "Did you want to see the weapon, too? To see if it's a suitable home."
- [15:23] Thera says, "Ah, I'd be glad to take a look at it."
- [15:24] Ethan Hawke says, "Alright."
- [15:31] Ethan's right hand reached out as a flash of light appeared a feet or so above the floor, magical circle spinning and a portal opening from one location to their own. Warped into their view the so-called staff made its appearance.
- Dreadful. That would be the first thing that Thera would feel upon laying eyes onto this scythe. It was horrible, plagued with pain and suffering unlike anything she had ever seen before. Even the Ghoul King's forces were not as corrupted as this weapon; this was something else.
- It would be obvious that something was wrong when the spiritmancer looked up to Ethan's face, his disturbed expression revealing that he hadn't expected it to feel like that.
- "That's... There's something wrong— It shouldn't be that way. Reito purified it - the rieka in it was purged completely!"
- Their target had been off. For one so alligned with the spiritual presence of things the young girl would most definitely realize that this weapon went against everything she believed in - both good and bad. Within its head was a remnant of Eidolon's star, a celestial body that was once powered by the souls and spirits of both living and dead forcefully ripped from their beings.
- Death magic wasn't even as brutal as what this thing felt like.
- Ethan's eyes shifted towards Thera as the wailing of broken souls filled the room.
- (Ethan Hawke)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [15:31] {Item} You drop Reckless Abaddon.
- [15:43] "What the fuck-" Unable to bit her tongue, the woman groans while gazing at this diabolical weapon of dread. Whatever concerns she held towards the spirit in questions fate become nugatory. That isn't a good home for the spirit- it isn't a good home for anything.
- "Rieka?!" Thera screeches, while her head begins to pound. A terrible, throbbing pain radiates throughout her entire being. "Ugh-" Eyes falling upon the object, she glowers at the menacing weapon, trying to figure out the source of it's disgusting nature, before-
- "Put it away- put it away-"
- Her hands fall upon her knees, breathing heavily, features growing to that of a grimace.
- (Thera)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [15:46] Ethan didn't seem to think twice about it after the young woman made the request. Another magical circle appeared, warping away the weapon to a place no one would find. This wasn't what he expected at all, that much was obvious judging by the expression on his face. A few seconds of silence passed before the Wayfinder stepped closer, a hand brought to her shoulder to hopefully offer human warmth.
- He'd wait until she was better to speak again.
- (Ethan Hawke)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [15:46] {Item} You picked up Reckless Abaddon. Dropped by Thera. .
- [16:00] Thera doesn't pull away, but she doesn't react to the hand much either. Focusing on steadying her breathing, and collecting herself. Perhaps, if better prepared, she could have braced herself- but with no proper warning? It's like diving from the physical realm, straight to Helheim, without being told that you're going on a journey into the spirit realm to begin with.
- "Needless to say." Thera finally speaks, once her surrounding are collected. "That isn't a fitting home for Sors, let alone a spirit we're trying to cleanse."
- Thera shakes her head, once, twice.
- "There is something in that weapon being used to connect it to the other side. Something sinister, and malicious. You said it was...filled with Reika? Well- there is something far worse than mana tainted with Azrael's touch, within that thing.
- If you truly want it purified, find another object to act as it's generator- to empower the weapon- and try making it pure again. Otherwise? It'd be like pouring a drop of water into a bottle of liqueur, with each attempt at making it pure."
- She takes a deep breath.
- "Or, if you know any powerful, and I mean powerful Order magi, you could try and purify the thing within it- but how you'd purify object who's sole purpose is to connect with something absolutely atrocious-
- Right now, that's beyond me."
- (Thera)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [16:10] A few pats are offered onto Thera's shoulder, followed by a small nod. He'd let her assess the situation and speak of what she knew. It was just as bad as he thought - as he felt.
- "Yeah. It had rieka coursing through when I first received it. Reito managed to purify and burn it away using Sunyata, but... We'll have to work harder on this one. We didn't realize what was there and we were both exhausted by the end of it."
- A pause was held, a thought had.
- "With Reito's Sunyata, Magdalen's experience, your spiritmancy, and my ability to connect to the spirit world and the lifestream, I... Think we can work on something. I recently got something that'll definitely help with it, too."
- Power upon power. This was some sort of mad project. Could they even make it?
- "Do you think so, too?"
- (Ethan Hawke)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [16:21] "Mn." Before giving an honest, earnest answer, Thera has to ponder. With the Azrael's taint removed, and the cleansing or removal of that god-awful object within the so-called staff, and the removal of any potential lingering essences and taint...
- "Yeah." Thera inhales sharp, taking a few deep breaths.
- "I probably won't be able to help much with cleansing the weapon, but I can assist you with cleansing the spirit, and help you forming a proper contract with said spirit."
- It can be treated as practice, because if she can't do this?
- Then how in Eternia will she manage to tackle the other titan of a goal she's set for herself?
- "I'll let you know when I'm available. I've my blessing soon, and Shai's funeral to host, but once that is all said and done?
- I'll be able to devote myself a bit more to all of these- ahm. Projects."
- (Thera)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [16:26] Ethan nodded at the girl, stepping closer to offer her a sudden hug - one that probably would surprise before the warmth and recognition could be felt coming from him. A tight embrace if she'd accept it.
- ".. Thanks, Thera."
- Grateful, for sure.
- (Ethan Hawke)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [16:27] She reaches up, offering a light pat to his back, before taking a step back. "Of course. I'm here to help, after all. Once this is all said and done, I might actually need some assistance with some work of my own, but..
- We'll see."
- (Thera)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [16:28] Ethan Hawke says, "Yeah. Don't hesitate to ask."
