BACKGROUND ;
➯ choi hyojin didn’t exactly have a great childhood. her mother was always away on business trips (or at least that’s what she liked to call them) and her father was always high off of any drugs he could lay his hands on. she never really knew love, especially with her father telling her that he didn’t love her and would “sell her for drugs if he could”. and her mother always being off at work. but, that was the usual for her.
➯ at the age of three, when she first developed her quirk it was hard to tell what it was. her mother, jieun, had thought that it was the same quirk of telepath that she had. hyojin had one day held her mother’s hand and asked her a question without speaking and was so happy that her daughter had the same quirk. but, when she started school the teacher quickly called to tell jieun that hyojin had been copying all of the kid’s quirks.
➯ from a young age, she showed signs of adhd. her mom refused to get her tested, too focused on work to help her daughter. but, when the teacher of her 2nd grade class called and insisted since hyojin was having trouble retaining the information. she got diagnosed with inattentive adhd and was put on pills. although, she never took her medication regularly since she always found her bottle empty from her dad taking them. but, when she got older she started hiding them.
➯ at the age of thirteen, her mother finally left her father and moved to an apartment in seoul with the man she had been having an affair with, named dongsoo. hyojin, choosing the lesser of two evils, begged her mother to let her live with her. after some convincing her mother agreed. dongsoo was nicer than her father and mother, so she got along with him quite well but still kept to herself at home.
➯ around the time she went to live with her mom, she started dating at school. a boy that she thought to be really nice asked her out to a dance. she gladly said yes, but after they went to the dance, he tried to make a move on her and she ran off. he spread a rumor around school saying that “they did it and she’s easy”. school already wasn’t great for her since she was always called dumb because of her adhd but now the guys at her school thought they could get with her.
➯ when she started high school, her mom let her go to a private school, sick of being tormented at her public school. it was better there and the people were nice, or well at least from what she thought. her step-sister, soojung, was the worst of them all. she tormented her and even was the one to start the dumb blonde jokes. the worst thing that happened was when hyojin found out that soojung had been sleeping with her boyfriend at the time, for almost as long and hyojin and the guy had been dating.
➯ during most of her high school years, all of her relationships didn’t turn out too well. she had multiple boyfriends cheat on her, try and force her into doing things that she didn’t want to do, and using her for various other bad reasons.
➯ her life turned around a bit after she met her close friends and eventually later got into ua. hyojin has started acting more upbeat and friendly because of those facts.

➯ friendly ; hyojin likes to come off as a nice and friendly person to most, usually bearing a smile when she walks through the halls.
➯ inattentive ; she’s really bad at paying attention and her mind can wander off a lot. she gets distracted very easily and it can be a weakness in battle.
➯ hardworking ; because of her adhd and inability to focus, she has to work extra hard to pay attention and focus on assignments and other tasks. she also is very hardworking when it comes to controlling her quirk.

➯ he comes off as a cold person, he has sort of a “resting bitch face” even if he doesn’t mean it. he is a very quiet and reserved person when you first meet him. he is shy and can blush pretty easily. he’s not very sociable and doesn’t really like socialize, hyojin is one of his few friends. he suffers from depression and has battled with it for a while. he tried his best to get up and be active, hyojin helps him a lot with that part. although, having a quirk helps with it, he feels like he can fight his depression with the urge to help others. even with his mental illness, he can tend to be a funny person, especially around hyojin. He is also very caring and has a desire to help others even if he can’t help himself.
HOW YOU MET/WILL MEET ;
➯ they met when hyojin started at her private high school. she was desk mates with him in their first/homeroom class.
FIRST IMPRESSION ;
➯ at first when he didn’t talk to her and his natural “bitch face”, she thought that he was just rude. but, as hyojin got to start a conversation with him, she realized he was just shy.
HOW YOU ACT AROUND THEM ;
➯ beginning! ; in the beginning they are just close friends. they hang out together and help each other with problems. hyojin is aware of her romantic feelings about him, but keeps them to herself, not wanting to ruin their friendship since he is one of her closest friends.
➯ middle! ; when he confesses his feelings towards her, she starts getting distant from him, scared because of all her horrible past relationships. hyojin avoids him for about a week or so, but eventually gets even more scared of loosing him for good, and stops denying her feelings.
➯ end! ; around the end, her paranoia dissipates, acting more loving towards him once they are in a relationship. they each have their own isssues and they comfort each other.

➯ beginning! ; he acts like a normal close friend, walking with hyojin (or driving her) to school, having talks about school and home and stuff, comforting her, and cracking jokes. but, with the occasional dropping of subtle hints that he likes her, in a more than close friends way.
