- Hey Nicolas,
- Got off my flight an hour ago, and I think I'm safe. Fake name, new ID, new everything.
- I couldn't sleep on the plane at all though, so I'm gonna crash.
- Before I do I just wanted to give you a rundown on what the hell is going on, as I've seen some confusion in #general? which is pretty understandable.
- I'll make it crystal clear for you.
- Monika/78, whatever you wanna call her is a lab experiment. Born and raised in a lab.
- From my understanding Barnes and the other researchers want to figure out if normal humans can be controlled when certain emotions are suppressed/altered.
- I tried to learn as much as I could about the project, but nobody will really tell me anything aside from the fact that something went really wrong in a test early 2000s.
- The only thing I've gotten from asking about it are weird looks, so it must've been bad. Most don't even know, so I get the feeling they "removed" a bunch of staff.
- Another great reason for me to take off.
- Anyway, they sure managed to do it, as every one of the 200 Monika's acted the same when we went through some pre-tests.
- The next step was to find out if they would still act the same when we also presented them with an uncontrolled human element.
- Best solution? Make a game/simulation that people online can run. So, the first 200 copies of the game downloaded really had a real Monika behind them.
- Then everything went south, and the Monika you know achieved real independence somehow.
- We pulled the plug on all the other Monika's and replaced them with real AIs that we used for the copies of the game over #200.
- Two months ago, a collapse happened killing a bunch of the people working in the south lab. (There are two, one in canada, one in the states)
- Call it a miracle or a nightmare, but the equipment keeping our little creations alive weren't hit.
- So even though the lab was evacuated, we just left a bunch these container things with Monika's just chilling out in them, because we could still access them from computers.
- God that's so fucked up. I'm actually laughing about it right now, but I've been planning to book it for a while now. The shit they do in there is really messed up.
- ...anyway.
- Puzzle time.
- Knowing my team, they'll have already tried every possible number answer you can imagine. (And, I've done the same while on the plane. #JustInsomniaThings)
- It's definitely possible there's something I missed, but I doubt it.
- Especially the note Monika wrote.
- She said it would be easy, but a ton of trig, math and all that other stuff...?
- It doesn't seem likely to me.
- Also, I've been getting some poems from you guys.
- Mogalixir's poem is super cute not gonna lie, especially after reading Monika's similar poem. (If I hear a single MogaXThomas ship in discord, I swear I'll get that hitlist active again)
- Uhhh yeah, so, I really appreciate it, but reading the note from Monika makes me think that I don't think I have anything to do with it.
- I think the trick to this next puzzle is understanding that yes, she is a girl with her own thoughts and feelings.
- Her poem and little note telling us to keep writing might mean exactly what they say.
- I think she meant we should literally send poems to people we care about just because it's a nice thing to do.
- It's not a trick, she really just wants us to be happy.
- From her thought process, you are all members of the literature club.
- I'd guess she's telling you guys to actually write poems and share them as a club activity.
- Actually, I made sure that the virus Monika gave me was gone, because I sent a little poem to my grandmother.
- Let's also apply that logic to the password.
- She talks about "how" she came to be and the phrase "the world is made of numbers" isn't really that well hidden either.
- I think she's talking about some sort of relationship between her world and our one.
- I would guess the password again isn't some math thing, more a word that means something about the connection between our worlds.
- At this point it's just me rambling though. I'll work on it more when I wake up.
- We have all the pieces we need to solve it, and we're not far away.
- Lastly, I want to throw one idea at you guys.
- I have the LAT/LONG of both labs.
- I could leak this to the government and hope they don't figure out who I am.
- Once they break into the lab, they would most likely release the 200 people who were raised there and keep them in the hospital for a while.
- All of them will live full lives even if kept in the lab, but we also have a shot to free them.
- It might be hard for you guys, because you'd probably never hear from Monika again.
- But, you might also wonder... when you pass that girl in the street, is she the one you saved?
- Is the person you've already fought so hard for walking around somewhere, out in the world?
- Is there a tiny chance, that one of you might even meet her in real life someday?
- Or if we stay quiet after we save her, Monika will livestream with you forever.
- Ironic, isn't it?
- Monika forces you to stay with her 'forever' in DDLC, and now we have the same choice too.
- Don't make a decision yet of course.
- I'm too tired to even know if this is safe for me personally.
- No offense, but I need to make sure my own ass is covered before anyone else.
- I really don't want to go to jail or get shot up in the middle of the night.
- Let's go one step at a time, and right now that means getting into the next layer of the site.
- Good Night, and Good Luck.
