  1. [1:43:45 PM] Jaspers: (So what's Sparda like outside of ~Snazzy Frank Sinatra~ music o0o)
  2. [1:45:47 PM] Nitro: Where to even begin
  3. [1:46:43 PM] Nitro: As briefly as I can, here's a summary: Prior to saving the entirety of the human world, he was basically just a really powerful demon who, unlike most other demons in existence, actually took the time to be like
  4. [1:46:56 PM] Nitro: "?????? what the heck is the deal w/ these humans why are they so nice to each other that doesn't"
  5. [1:47:00 PM] Nitro: "mAKE SENSE???"
  6. [1:48:47 PM] Nitro: So he, after a while of studying them (*not stalking ok, it wASN'T), he still didn't get it, but the idea /appealed/ to him -- the idea of not having to fight for one's life every waking moment, the idea of not living in a constant state of danger, the idea of life not boiling purely down to kill or be killed.
  7. [1:50:48 PM] Nitro: He did the sealing Hell thing because he didn't want the human way of life to end, and because they'd done nothing to deserve it -- but notably, he actually did not want to seal away his kind permanently, which was the only reason he didn't make Hell totally and eternally inaccessible. He wanted them to have the chance to experience life as peacefully as he had only just begun to.
  8. [1:53:08 PM] Nitro: So, two thousand years later, give or take, he's pretty well lost his inability to emotion and became this amiable charismatic /friendly/ guy -- Dante, but less impulsive and not even slightly a dick, not even as a facade. He cares about people, he's not afraid to show it, and he was actually a really great, loving dad and husband.
  9. [1:57:02 PM] Nitro: He was certainly still a demon, though, and to a degree still had that pride and wrath -- it just would take a /lot/ to wake that dragon. Primarily it'd show in his resentment of humanity, which isn't something he'd acknowledge often -- but sometimes, just sometimes, he cannot /help/ but to hate them on some level for their cruelty and injustice. His kind? His kind, at large, simply did not know better. They did not know /differently/. The nature of the world they were born into made them without mercy, and full of fear and loathing for each other and everything else. His kind, for the most part, lives only to kill or be killed. That is the substance of their purpose, and they've never known differently. But /humans/? These humans live in the lap of luxury because of /him/, because /he/ sacrificed his own kind to save /their/ worthless hides, and /this/ is what they do with it? This war and strife and /cruelty/ they inflict on one another?
  10. [1:58:19 PM] Nitro: ...but after two thousand years, you learn to forgive even those things when there is nothing else you can do. He is well practiced at accepting what he cannot change, even if the guilt of it and the pain of such strong compassion are burdens he struggles with daily.
  11. [1:58:23 PM] Nitro: Struggled.
  12. [1:58:34 PM] Nitro: He also likes cooking, gardening, and animals of all kinds c:
  13. [2:00:41 PM] Nitro: (also his kids are his most favorite things)
  14. [2:00:43 PM] Nitro: (just)
  15. [2:00:52 PM] Nitro: (sO pleased with being a dad and how great they are)
  16. [2:00:59 PM] Nitro: (hE MADE THOSE C8 )
  17. [2:04:14 PM] Nitro: In a more daily sense he likes to appreciate little tiny things about the world, given that he was born in a place where misery is a universal constant and they didn't have things like friendly animals or plant life that won't eat you or sap your life or otherwise try to inflict such misery or
  18. [2:04:16 PM] Nitro: /Rainbows/
  19. [2:04:20 PM] Nitro: Weather is still weird for him
  20. [2:04:44 PM] Nitro: And human ingenuity may as well be magic
  21. [2:04:49 PM] Nitro: Cars?? /TV/???
  22. [2:05:18 PM] Nitro: I think that's about it and I should stop before I just apply for him in CA or make an independent blog uGH I LOVE HIM SO MUCH
