Backstage, Rocky Maivia was getting ready for the 15-man battle royal main event. As he adjusted his elbow pads and his boots, the camera panned to the side to see Shawn Michaels staring a hole through him.

"Now what exactly do you want, Shawn? I got myself a battle royal to win and I'm really not in the mood to listen to you wax on about your glory days. I-" at this point Shawn angrily and loudly interrupted him.

"IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU THINK YOU FUCKING NOBODY! I didn't come all the way over here to give a damn about your mood! I came over here to give you a warning! You wanna be in the rumble? Fine, but here's what you're gonna want to do, Rocky. You're gonna want to pay real close attention to what's going in that ring. The first 5 guys out? They're gone. No rumble for them. What you're gonna want to do, Rocky, and listen REAL close because I am doing you a favor here, as soon as guy 5 hits the floor, you're gonna want to just throw yourself over the top, and you know why? Because the winner of this battle royal gets number 30 in the rumble. I am WINNING this battle royal, I am getting #30. I've won a Royal Rumble pulling #1 for God's sake, what do you think is going to happen when I pull #30? But that's a foregone conclusion, and the real reason you're gonna want to throw yourself out is because if you're the LAST guy to get throw out... you get #1. So throw yourself out, Rocky. I'd just *hate* to ruin the future of a rosy-cheeked little blue chipper like you by letting you come so close to tasting glory, only to find yourself as far from the brass ring as humanly possible just because you thought you could get one over on THE I-" Rocky interrupted.

"IT DOESN'T MATTER WHO YOU ARE! I have the same chance of getting that #30 spot as you, and you have the same chance of getting that #1 spot as I do. You think just because you've been this company for a decade, because you've held just about every title there is to hold, and because you're only 32 years old that you're untouchable? That you're bulletproof? Well, that's just not true, and you know it's not true! One Trailblazer showed you up already, another went toe-to-toe and almost beat you, and believe you me I will take you to the limit tonight, because I'm not the same man who left this company a year and a half ago! I'm not that flighty young man, I am SURE OF MYSELF! I AM SOLID! I AM A ROCK, AND TONIGHT THE ROCK HAS COME BACK TO LOS ANGELES! And I am going to rock this town tonight, I promise you that!"

The two stared down until we cut back to the ring for the next match.
