- One of my main responsibilities at Marshall Cavendish is to conceptualise publications for Secondary Science for international and Singapore markets. As part of my work, I commission authors and routinely have to evaluate sample chapters that they submit. It is a bit hard to believe that a program can generate the same quality or better questions than experienced authors. The sample chapters that their technology has generated are exactly what I need and I am backing Cerebry's AI to come work with us as author. They, of course, need to deliver for the rest of the book but their technology has done very well so far. People in my job across all big publishing houses spend a lot of their time in the order of months finding an appropriate author, negotiating, going back and forth on questions, editing, etc.. The technology helps cut most of this frustrating process and enable people like me to go from conceptualisation of the book straight to publishing. What takes months now can hopefully be done in a day. I also love being able to generate questions with answers at the click of a button combining different concepts and changing the difficulty level. This increased efficiency will help the publishing industry by allowing us not only to publish more books; but also because people like me will be able to spend majority of our time responding to the needs of students; and not on managing authors. I am very excited by the potential and it has been a pleasure working with them so far.
