  1. DAMAGE BUFFS
  2. ⦁ Increase base damage with weapon level. One of the worst parts about gun bashing is that your level 1 Hunting Rifle will deal the same damage as your level 50 Hunting Rifle.
  3. ⦁ Certain Weapons deal more base bash damage (IE heavy weapons such as missile launcher). Certain weapons are held back from their low base bash damage and limited weapon mods.
  4. ⦁ Benefit from buffs such as Psycho, Adrenaline, and Bloody Mess
  5. ⦁ From further testing, I can confirm that Gun Bashing does benefit from Pyscho , but not Adrenaline or Bloody Mess.
  6. ⦁ Serrated Bayonets that cause bleed damage
  7. ⦁ Poisoned Bayonets that cause poison damage
  8. ⦁ Stealth-blade Bayonets that deal extra sneak attack damage
  9. ⦁ Would be kinda weird with how Suppressors take up the same muzzle slot as Bayonets. Also I do believe that Gun bashing benefits from Covert Operative instead of Ninja (have not tested)
  10. ⦁ Energy Bayonets for Energy Weapons (super heated or proton blades)
  11.
  12. SHREDDER MINIGUN
  13. ⦁ Just to address the elephant in the room...
  14. ⦁ VERY good damage. The best for pure bashing. Awful durability drain, just absolutely piss poor. I'm not even sure if gunsmith helps at all but holy SHIT.
  15.
  16. QUALITY OF LIFE
  17. ⦁ Better cripple chance on Basher perk card (25% for example). 10% just does not feel useful or often enough to even consider bringing Basher on a non-bashing build.
  18. ⦁ Be able to Gunbash out of a sprint
  19. ⦁ Maybe decrease durability drain. Can be less of an issue if gun bashing dealt more damage and, in return, you wouldn't need to bash as often and the durability would not drain as quickly.
  20. ⦁ I've been using Gunsmith but I'm not sure if it's effects the durability drain from gun bashing.
  21. ⦁ After some testing I can confirm that gunbashing does not benefit from gunsmith's reduced durability drain.
  22. ⦁ More accurate (???) Sometimes I aim at the head and I get body shot damage
  23. ⦁ Long barrels could increase gun bash range (especially for the BPR)
  24.
  25. LEGENDARY EFFECTS THAT DONT WORK
  26. ⦁ Any of the enemy specific effects dont deal more bash damage to enemies
  27. ⦁ Damage effects such as Bloodied or Junkies dont apply their weapon damage bonus to the gun bash
  28.
  29. MORE BAYONETS AND BRUISING STOCKS ON WEAPONS
  30. ⦁ Bull Bladed Revolvers (for .44 and Western Revolvers)
  31. ⦁ Lever action rifle (Bayonet) (PLEASE)
  32. ⦁ Pump Action Shotgun (Bayonet)
  33. ⦁ Gauss Weapons (Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun) (Bayonet and Bruising grips)
  34. ⦁ Assault Rifle (Bayonet)
  35. ⦁ Bigger bayonets for "Exceptional Bash Damage"
  36. ⦁ Railway Rifle (Bruising stock)
  37. ⦁ Spiked Muzzle Break for the Double Barrel Shotgun does NOT provide "superior bash damage" as the tool tip suggests and still gun bashes with the stock of the gun instead of using the spiky bits of the muzzle break.
  38. ⦁ Radium Rifle (this one's for you Axel)
  39. ⦁ Gatling gun (Bruising Grip)
  40. ⦁ Laser/Plasma guns (Bayonets)
  41.
  42. LEGENDARY PERK CARDS
  43. ⦁ With legendary perks over the Horizon, it would be nice to see gun bashing get a little love (which is, unsurprisingly, what this whole paper is about)
  44. ⦁ More outright damage (less preferred over scaling with more damage at higher levels)
  45. ⦁ Better stagger effect or higher cripple chance.
  46. ⦁ More Armor Pen!!!
  47. ⦁ FO4 style basher crits :eyes:
  48. ⦁ Could open up the chance for Chem usage such as Overdrive or even crit-damage receivers on the guns :eyes:
  49.
  50. ARMOR MODS?
  51. ⦁ Adding either Standard or PA Arm mods that decrease AP cost *or* increase gun bash damage
  52. ⦁ Turns out Aerodynamic arm mods reduce AP cost of gun bashing down from 20 to 10 AP (Using two arms had no further benefit). With this being the case, it's safe to assume that the "Optimized Bracers" PA Arm mod would have a similar effect.
  53. ⦁ Possibly allow Weighted arm mods to benefit gun bashing (Gun bashes ignore some armor)
  54. ⦁ New mods that allow faster bashing animation or, using fighting game terminology, less end lag so you can get back to shooting quicker.
  55.
  56. LOOSE THOUGHTS
  57. ⦁ Might be interesting to look into reducing the benefit of boost that strength gives to gun bashing in order to make it more interesting to builds that don't have a lot of strength. This could easily be dealt with an increased base damage and reducing the scaling of strength up to a certain point where it would have evened out previously.
  58. ⦁ Possible strength caps for gun bashing could be anywhere from 25-30
  59. ⦁ Legendary damage effects could still effect gun bashing but in a reduced form. For example, if Bloodied would give 80% damage normally, it would give 40% (would even out with a bashing secondary effect) but then we would run into the same balancing issues with the main game's legendary weapons tiers. Keeping legendary effects separate from gun bashing (save for AA) would allow multiple builds to incorporate gun bashing.
  60. ⦁ With this mind, the current best combination for a Bash build would be an AA Gun with 40% bash damage (Obviously)
  61. ⦁ Gun Bashing should never be a replacement for melee weapons. It should, ideally, always be used alongside shooting.
  62. ⦁ Fuck Damage Numbers. My Homies and I hate damage numbers.
  63. ⦁ Enemy-specific legendary effects (ie Troubleshooters) does not increase bash damage against those enemies.
  64. ⦁ Unrelated to gun bashing but it'd be very cool if the Dark Cravings addiction from cannibalism in Fallout 4's survival mode made a return. :)
