Background: Dahye was born into a very struggling family. Her young parents did not have much to give young Dahye, but they tried to give her the best life possible. She would frequently find herself in the kitchen of the restaurant that her mother worked in after school where the chef taught her how to cook and bake. When she wasn’t cooking or baking, she would dance to the soft music that filled the restaurant. As she grew older, her gym teacher found her love for dance inspiring and paid for her to attend dance lessons. When she entered high school, she was scouted to be on the dance team. The team ended up doing a lot of covers and eventually got scouted. Her parents were worried about sending her to Seoul since they would not be able to send her any money. She told them that it would be okay and she would make it big for them. They gave her their blessing and went. As she was a trainee, she held several jobs from being a cashier to waitress to a baker to a small café right across the street from the company to support herself and pay for her training. Once she debuted, she called her parents and told her that it was all going to be okay.
