- Frankenstein 2
- 1- Mary Shelly discusses nature sporadically throughout the novel since nature is very common to Victor and also, the monster. Since they have anxieties of one another, they go outside and feel better.
- 2- In the beginning of the novel, Victor was supposed to be the "father" to his own son, which he created. Once the monster awoke, he wanted to see on what the wells was like, and wanted Victor to teach him the ways on how to be like a human being. In that case, the monster wanted Victor to be the "master". Once Victor destroyed the bride, the monster swears that he's the "master" and Victor will be the slave, and before the situation happened, the monster did not even care that much about Victor since he wanted to have a life. Because the monster wanted revenge on Victor badly, he scares Victor and starts to destroy everything. According to the quote, "I was the salve, not the master, of an impulse I destroyed", he wanted revenge to point out hat he was a slave the whole entire time. The reason why Mary Shelly introduced the reversal concept was that to show readers that the monster became a human like everyone has, whom have a dark and light side.
- 3A- Prometheus is very similar to Victor in many ways. They are both having the sin in greed and wanting more for themselves. Prometheus, the titan, wanted the power of fire, while Victor wanted the power of creating life. The punishments were bad for both Prometheus and Victor since they were both "monsters" and did actions that were beyond their own control, but did not care.
- 3B- In the modern world, there are other people who are messing with things that they do not understand due to their ambition, such as terrorism and modern science. For example, there are people who do disapprove of scientists using embryo to grow other organs.
- 3C- Before Victor, he asks Walton to continue to go after the monster and kill it, and Walton does believe the monster still exists. While Walton was curious as to how Victor creates the monster in the first place, Victor did not even want to bother to answer the question, since he was afraid that another monster will appear and the mistakes would happen once again. So, Victor was basically saying, "learn from my mistakes, and don't do what I did."
- 4- The story that Mary Shelly created did bring out attention to the overall lesson of people not going out of their way to create something and then, karma happens. The most interesting character was reading about Victor's characterization of him being excited to regretting his own past mistake. The novel by Mary Shelly was worth reading since it gave out knowledge that the monster does have feelings and it does deserve love and kindness, and it should. It be treated as a creature. Elizabeth did try hard to gain attention of her husband, Victor, but unfortunately, her intentions were not useful since Victor was obsessed over his monster.
