1. Canon: Do What You Have To Do - Hunter d’Azur
2.
3. The sound of the alarm was the first thing he heard this morning.
4.
5. Beep.
6.
7. Beep.
8.
9. Beep.
10.
11. A groggy head lifted from the oh so delightful pillow that it was resting on, fumbling for the weapon that would always take its place next to his bedside. Firmly grasping the handle, the sleep-addled mind cleared as one thought surfaced.
12.
13. Ah. The alarm is going off again.
14.
15. As if he was a predator rising from their resting place, Hunter calmly got up and stalked towards the entrance to his apartment. With his hand on the door handle, he quickly swung the door open ready to attack the intruders, only to find that there was no intruder after all. With a sigh, Hunter left behind his weapon next to the doorway and quickly left the safety of his home just to make sure. Groaning, he had looked back to find that his doorway had been vandalized again, and it means that there’s more work for today.
16.
17. Animal. Faunus scum. Unsurprisingly, the words don’t really affect Hunter anymore since it could’ve been someone waiting to attack him instead of cheap talk. Hunter went back inside to grab his painting supplies to paint over the door once again. He didn’t want to draw any more attention to himself, so he made it quick. Once he was done, Hunter began his usual routine once again. Start brushing his teeth first while he approximates the amount of food left behind in his dingy fridge. Realizing that he’ll need to be out for longer than usual, Hunter finished up with brushing his teeth and started taking out temporary hair dyes for the day. Applying the red dye, Hunter also started to apply makeup while the dye dries so he conceal the small black ring around his eyes. Usually he can pass it off as baggy eyes but it’s better to be safe than sorry. Putting on a medical mask, Hunter quickly put on a pair of jeans and a hoodie. Grabbing his weapon and trying his best to conceal it, Hunter left for the day to get groceries.
18.
19. Fortunately, he avoided most of the humans that can recognize him regardless of the actions he takes to disguise himself. As for everyone else, Hunter would get away with strange or even dirty looks, but that’s okay. They won’t find him next time. Other than that, there wasn’t really much else that happened to Hunter. Earning money from odd jobs, buying instant noodles from the nearest store, and immediately returning home to avoid attention became routine. There are things that Hunter wish he could do instead of going home after finishing work, after all...
20.
21. His home wasn’t the best, but then again, when has it always been better than something like this? Small, empty, even signs of wear throughout the rooms. Yet, something about his apartment being the bare minimum makes his heart sink like it always does. With a tired sigh, Hunter moved to place the instant noodles in his “kitchen” - and calling it a kitchen would be generous. Making sure that he’s getting water to boil, Hunter went back to his bathroom to wash out the hair dye. While he does so, Hunter can’t help but think to himself.

24.
25. Hearing the familiar sound of the boiling water ready to be poured into an instant cup of noodles, Hunter shakes his head to clear his mind as he returns the kitchen. Opening up one of the cups, Hunter seasoned the noodles and pours in the boiling hot water for it to cook. Once that’s done, Hunter sits down on the floor as he stares at a clock and waits. And waits. At the three minute mark, Hunter quickly jumped up and got eating utensils for his meal of the day. Then there was only silence except for Hunter’s sounds of slurping as he eats the cheap meal. From there would begin Hunter’s end routine for the day, where he’d clean up after himself, brush his teeth, wash the makeup off, and getting into bed with his weapon next to the bed.
26.
27. Tiredly staring at the dark ceiling, Hunter could only wait so that he can sleep, but today, he can’t help but think. Think of a more innocent but brighter past. Think of a girl that brightened his world when he didn’t understand his situation. Most of all, he can’t help but think of a promise. A promise that maybe someday, they’ll find each other again and that they’ll be the bestest of friends! It was silly, Hunter had to admit.
28.
29. But maybe…
30.
31. And like that, Hunter fell asleep, with him holding the hilt of his sword.
32.
33.
34. Beep.
35.
36. Beep.
37.
38. Beep.
39.
40. His grip tightened on his weapon.
41.
42. The sound of the alarm was the first thing he heard that morning, it’s the first thing he hears every morning.
