Born to a working class Korean family, being the oldest in the family with a younger sister, she grew up near the lovely beaches of Jeongja dong. Her parents own one of the biggest restaurants in the area and is well known for their seafood cuisine. Due to her parents busy schedules, she mostly took care of herself as well as her sister, she literally became the second mother for her sister. Everyday after school, she picks her sister up from her school and goes home which is located right next to their family's restaurant. During the time, she would guide her sister's homework and take her to the beach to play.

Due to the fact that she took care of her sister and having strict parents, she is conservative and considered herself old fashion. In school and college she is part of the student body and was the president in her high school. She follows rules strictly and believes there is a reason for them.
