  1. [2:27]*Iroquois-Pliskin is totally not Solid Snake why do you speak of Solid Snake? There is only Iroquois.
  2. [2:28]*Simon-Blackquill apologies. There seems to have been a mistake.
  3. [2:29]*Iroquois-Pliskin adjusts his tie and fake glasses. This lawyer disguise is uncomfortable.
  4. [2:30]*Tori Marie Nygma plays with her wind magic because what is subtlety?
  5. [2:30]*Simon-Blackquill watches not-Snake adjust his tie and moves to do the same to his own. Note that his finger is still bandaged.[2:30]Iroquois-Pliskin: You hurt yourself?[2:30]Tori Marie Nygma: ...
  6. [2:31]Simon-Blackquill: .....In a moment of stupidity.
  7. [2:31]Tori Marie Nygma: You've clearly met the person I told you could heal you. Why didn't you do something about it?
  8. [2:31]Simon-Blackquill: None of your business, Troublemaker.
  9. [2:31]Iroquois-Pliskin: What happened?
  10. [2:31]Tori Marie Nygma: My business now, Prosecutor Asshole.
  11. [2:31]Simon-Blackquill: Hmph.
  12. [2:32]*Tori Marie Nygma refuses to speak up about what happened out of... respect for Simon? Whaaaaaat?
  13. [2:33]Simon-Blackquill: I...... did something foolish.
  14. [2:33]Tori Marie Nygma: Damn right you did.
  15. [2:33]Iroquois-Pliskin: What'd you do?
  16. [2:33]Tori Marie Nygma: ...
  17. [2:33]Tori Marie Nygma: It's not important, is it?
  18. [2:33]Iroquois-Pliskin: I'm just curious.
  19. [2:33]Simon-Blackquill: I acted in a moment of intense emotion.
  20. [2:34]Simon-Blackquill: Not something I intend on repeating.
  21. [2:34]Iroquois-Pliskin: Uh huh. Got it.
  22. [2:35]Iroquois-Pliskin: Probably not as pathetic as hurting a finger buttering bread, though, is it?
  23. [2:35]Tori Marie Nygma: ...
  24. [2:35]Simon-Blackquill: .......Not even my skin is that fragile.
  25. [2:35]Iroquois-Pliskin: Didn't think so.
  26. [2:36]Simon-Blackquill: But at least in that scenario it wouldn't be self-inflicted.
  27. [2:36]Tori Marie Nygma: ...
  28. [2:36]Tori Marie Nygma: I know you don't plan to, but /don't do it again/.
  29. [2:37]Simon-Blackquill: Hmph.
  30. [2:37]Iroquois-Pliskin: What're you doing causing self-inflicted injuries??
  31. [2:37]Simon-Blackquill: .......I acted in a moment of intense emotion. I told you.
  32. [2:37]Tori Marie Nygma: Not that it bothers /me/ much, but I don't want to see Bobby fret over it.
  33. [2:38]Simon-Blackquill: He's the one that forced the bandage upon me.
  34. [2:38]Tori Marie Nygma: You /needed/ it, idiot.
  35. [2:38]*Simon-Blackquill definitely would have just let his nailless finger run free in the wind like a baby's butt.
  36. [2:39]Iroquois-Pliskin: Well... are you feeling better, at least?
  37. [2:39]Simon-Blackquill: ........Letting Bobby bandage it helped.
  38. [2:40]Simon-Blackquill: He's... gentle.
  39. [2:41]Tori Marie Nygma: Having a gentle touch is a really great thing.
  40. [2:41]Simon-Blackquill: Mm...
  41. [2:41]*Simon-Blackquill is just. Thinking about Bobby now.
  42. [2:42]Iroquois-Pliskin: Yeah, having someone less... rough, that can be good.
  43. [2:42]*Tori Marie Nygma is thinking about Jeb and Aleos... the other two (three? it's complicated okay) are capable of gentle touches, but...
  44. [2:42]Tori Marie Nygma: It can be. I'm a really rough person, myself.
  45. [2:42]*Iroquois-Pliskin may also be thinking about someone, giving him a brief faraway look, before promptly getting over it and pulling himself together.
  46. [2:43]Iroquois-Pliskin: Same here.
  47. [2:43]Simon-Blackquill: Make that all of us, then.
  48. [2:43]Iroquois-Pliskin: A trio of emotionally stunted assholes. Nice.
  49. [2:43]*Tori Marie Nygma can't help but laugh at that.
  50. [2:43]Tori Marie Nygma: I wonder if being emotionally /stunted/ is really my problem.
  51. [2:43]Simon-Blackquill: .....An accurate description.
  52. [2:45]*Tori Marie Nygma always figured her problem originated from caring a bit /too/ much...
  53. [2:45]Iroquois-Pliskin: Do emotions like anger or bloodlust really count as the kind of emotions that shouldn't be stunted? That's just a general question, not about you.
  54. [2:45]Tori Marie Nygma: ...
  55. [2:45]Simon-Blackquill: Hm... Anger, perhaps not.
  56. [2:46]Simon-Blackquill: Bloodlust. I can speak from experience in that it can be cathartic to act upon, but I wouldn't recommend it.
  57. [2:46]*Simon-Blackquill raises hands. Shackles.
  58. [2:49]Tori Marie Nygma: ...bloodlust /should/ be stunted, but I guess it helps when you regularly play a game where the deaths don't last~
  59. [2:49]*Tori Marie Nygma probably shouldn't say that so casually.
  60. [2:50]Iroquois-Pliskin: I wonder if it really helps, or if it's working to simply desensitize us?
  61. [2:50]Tori Marie Nygma: Don't know. It hasn't succeeded in desensitizing me, and I've been playing for years.
  62. [2:51]Tori Marie Nygma: ...
  63. [2:51]Tori Marie Nygma: Well. It hasn't desensitized me to /killing/, anyway~
  64. [2:51]Simon-Blackquill: I believe it depends on the person.
  65. [2:52]Simon-Blackquill: For some, it works as an outlet, and for others, it desensitizes.
  66. [2:52]Simon-Blackquill: But all sorts of things desensitize us. Media, namely.
  67. [2:52]Iroquois-Pliskin: Don't get me started on that.
  68. [2:53]Simon-Blackquill: Oh, by all means, have the floor.
  69. [2:53]Iroquois-Pliskin: Nah, we'd be here all night.
  70. [2:54]Simon-Blackquill: Very well.
  71. [2:54]Tori Marie Nygma: Heh.
  72. [2:55]Tori Marie Nygma: I guess people like us really need that kind of gentleness in our lives. People who believe in us.
  73. [2:55]Iroquois-Pliskin: So... really sounds like things are going good with that detective of yours, huh?
  74. [2:55]*Iroquois-Pliskin pauses at what Tori said, and then nods.
  75. [2:55]*Tori Marie Nygma will argue up and down, all day every day, about how much she doesn't deserve to have people who believe in her.
  76. [2:55]Iroquois-Pliskin: Yeah. People that believe in us.
  77. [2:56]Simon-Blackquill: ...People that believe in us indeed.
  78. [2:56]Simon-Blackquill: I don't deserve him.
  79. [2:57]Iroquois-Pliskin: I think that's for him to decide.
  80. [2:57]Simon-Blackquill: Why would he waste his time on me? I'm a dead man walking.
  81. [2:57]*Simon-Blackquill rattles those shackles again.
  82. [2:58]Iroquois-Pliskin: Why don't you ask him?
  83. [2:58]Tori Marie Nygma: ...
  84. [2:59]Tori Marie Nygma: Self loathing doesn't /suit you/, Prosecutor Asshole.
  85. [2:59]Iroquois-Pliskin: Also, it's not just people who believe in us. It's people who believe in the real us- not some story we or others tell of us, or some sort of front. Not some idealized version of ourselves. But someone who sees us for who we are, our faults, or imperfections, our wrongs, and still believes in us, and our humanity, and that we're real, full people. Not tools or weapons or figureheads.
  86. [2:59]Tori Marie Nygma: ...
  87. [2:59]Tori Marie Nygma: Or ticking timebombs.
  88. [2:59]*Tori Marie Nygma says this VERY QUIETLY
  89. [2:59]Simon-Blackquill: .........Then I'm afraid I've made a grave mistake.
  90. [3:00]Simon-Blackquill: Even now, I do nothing but actively fight what Bobby is working so hard for.
  91. [3:00]Tori Marie Nygma: Then /stop/.
  92. [3:00]Tori Marie Nygma: Stop and believe in him.
  93. [3:00]Simon-Blackquill: I can't.
  94. [3:00]Tori Marie Nygma: ...
  95. [3:01]Simon-Blackquill: This fight is bigger than he is.
  96. [3:01]*Tori Marie Nygma knows she's being a hypocrite right now, but Simon doesn't. That's the important part.
  97. [3:01]Tori Marie Nygma: ...is it?
  98. [3:01]Simon-Blackquill: If I could explain it to him, he'd understand.
  99. [3:01]Simon-Blackquill: Unfortunately I've said too much.
  100. [3:01]Tori Marie Nygma: ...
  101. [3:02]Tori Marie Nygma: If you say so~
  102. [3:03]Tori Marie Nygma: In the end, it doesn't matter all that much to me.
  103. [3:03]*Tori Marie Nygma is lying so, so much right now.
  104. [3:03]Simon-Blackquill: Heh... Have you heard of the dark age of the law?
  105. [3:03]Tori Marie Nygma: ...in passing.
  106. [3:04]*Tori Marie Nygma stretches.
  107. [3:04]Tori Marie Nygma: Why?
  108. [3:04]Simon-Blackquill: You should ask Bobby about it sometime... let him tell you the story.
  109. [3:04]Iroquois-Pliskin: Can't say that I have. I mainly stick to military court.
  110. [3:04]Tori Marie Nygma: ...you'll leave this to /Bobby/? Fine. Do what you want. Maybe I /will/ ask him.
  111. [3:05]Simon-Blackquill: Well, we're in it right now.
  112. [3:05]Simon-Blackquill: Certain events have ushered in quite the commotion in the world of law...
  113. [3:06]Simon-Blackquill: But I wouldn't know as much as Bobby. I spent seven years in the clink.
  114. [3:06]*Simon-Blackquill grins.
  115. [3:07]Tori Marie Nygma: Fine, fine. I'll ask him.
  116. [3:09]Simon-Blackquill: It isn't that I lack faith in Bobby Fulbright. It's that there is something... incredibly important in play here.
  117. [3:10]Iroquois-Pliskin: I think you should trust him, be honest with him.
  118. [3:10]Tori Marie Nygma: ...heh. You think so?
  119. [3:10]Simon-Blackquill: I... I should. Perhaps.
  120. [3:10]Simon-Blackquill: However, it needs to be given time.
  121. [3:10]Iroquois-Pliskin: Taking your time is fine, but you can't put it off forever.
  122. [3:11]Tori Marie Nygma: ...
  123. [3:11]Iroquois-Pliskin: You need to let him be a man and make his own decisions based on reality, not lies or half-truths.
  124. [3:11]Tori Marie Nygma: He's right, you know~
  125. [3:12]*Tori Marie Nygma hates that he's right.
  126. [3:12]Simon-Blackquill: ...Ngh.
  127. [3:12]Simon-Blackquill: I don't have much time left anyhow.
  128. [3:13]Tori Marie Nygma: Then make the most out of the time you do have.
  129. [3:15]Iroquois-Pliskin: Exactly.
  130. [3:15]Iroquois-Pliskin: He knows how much time you have, right?
  131. [3:15]Simon-Blackquill: Yes.
  132. [3:15]Iroquois-Pliskin: And he still chose this.
  133. [3:15]Iroquois-Pliskin: Respect him and his decision, and make the most of the time that you have.
  134. [3:16]Iroquois-Pliskin: If you only have so much of your life left to you, then live it.
  135. [3:16]Iroquois-Pliskin: Don't waste it.
  136. [3:17]Tori Marie Nygma: ...yeah. Don't spend it shoving everything good that you have left. Okay~
  137. [3:17]Tori Marie Nygma: ((*Okay~?))
  138. [3:18]*Simon-Blackquill turned his head away, looking down at his boots. He couldn't really do that. There was... something very important at risk.
  139. [3:18]Tori Marie Nygma: ((*shoving away))
  140. [3:18]Tori Marie Nygma: But, like I said. It doesn't matter to me.
  141. [3:19]Iroquois-Pliskin: Hmn.
  142. [3:19]Simon-Blackquill: Need I remind you that I'm a prosecutor?
  143. [3:20]Iroquois-Pliskin: And?
  144. [3:20]Simon-Blackquill: Emphasis on denial is a hallmark of a guilty man. Or woman, in this case.
  145. [3:20]Simon-Blackquill: It obviously does matter to you.
  146. [3:20]Iroquois-Pliskin: As long as she's listening.
  147. [3:21]Tori Marie Nygma: ...
  148. [3:21]Tori Marie Nygma: It's for Bobby's sake.
  149. [3:21]Simon-Blackquill: Of course it is, I never once thought it was for me.
  150. [3:22]Tori Marie Nygma: ...of course not.
  151. [3:23]Simon-Blackquill: And there we are.
  152. [3:23]Iroquois-Pliskin: I can't tell if you two hate each other or care about each other.
  153. [3:24]*Tori Marie Nygma does not respond to that.
  154. [3:25]Simon-Blackquill: .....
  155. [3:26]Tori Marie Nygma: Heh.
  156. [3:27]Simon-Blackquill: What?
  157. [3:27]Tori Marie Nygma: Nothing~
  158. [3:28]Iroquois-Pliskin: ... Anyway, Prosecutor. You'd be surprised the kind of people who can find someone who believes in them, and can still benefit and grow, even when they thought they were a lost cause.
  159. [3:28]Tori Marie Nygma: ...
  160. [3:28]Tori Marie Nygma: Yeah, you would.
  161. [3:28]Iroquois-Pliskin: It took me over thirty years to learn that myself.
  162. [3:29]Iroquois-Pliskin: But love really can bloom, even on a battlefield.
  163. [3:30]Simon-Blackquill: .................
  164. [3:30]Simon-Blackquill: Heh.......
  165. [3:30]Simon-Blackquill: I've been... Horrendously blind this whole time, haven't I.
  166. [3:30]Iroquois-Pliskin: Maybe a little.
  167. [3:31]Tori Marie Nygma: You think?
  168. [3:31]Iroquois-Pliskin: It could bloom for you, too.
  169. [3:32]Simon-Blackquill: What a time for me to find it.....
  170. [3:33]Iroquois-Pliskin: You can never know what the future will hold.
  171. [3:34]Tori Marie Nygma: Yeah! Your fate can still change.
  172. [3:35]Simon-Blackquill: Hm...
  173. [3:36]Simon-Blackquill: I wonder if you'd still think that if you knew my circumstances.
  174. [3:37]Tori Marie Nygma: You're not exactly helping with my knowledge on that, Prosecutor Asshole. You know that, right?
  175. [3:37]Iroquois-Pliskin: I wonder the same thing, but the other way around.
  176. [3:37]Simon-Blackquill: How do you mean?
  177. [3:38]Tori Marie Nygma: ...what?
  178. [3:38]Iroquois-Pliskin: Who I am, what I've done.
  179. [3:38]Iroquois-Pliskin: And what you'd think of me if you knew my circumstances.
  180. [3:38]Simon-Blackquill: Hm. You bring up a good point in that I know nothing about you.
  181. [3:39]Iroquois-Pliskin: I generally prefer to keep it that way.
  182. [3:39]Tori Marie Nygma: Who knows? Maybe that applies to all of us~
  183. [3:40]Simon-Blackquill: I feel as though you lot know more about me than I know about any of you.
  184. [3:40]Tori Marie Nygma: ...heh. I didn't think you'd /want/ to know about me.
  185. [3:41]Simon-Blackquill: Don't put words into my mouth.
  186. [3:41]Iroquois-Pliskin: Hmn.
  187. [3:41]Tori Marie Nygma: Then don't talk about how you don't know us.
  188. [3:41]*Tori Marie Nygma shrugs.
