Jaune let the tension slip out of him as Winter left. Even if Ironwood had said he'd made the right call, he wasn't sure she would forget the embarrassment anytime soon. Nor Weiss. At least Pyrrha looked proud of him, smiling his way. He felt pleased, too, and that was a rare occurrence. It was the right decision to make. No one died.

Team RWBY had done the same as well in speaking with his father instead of fighting them. He wanted to say his old man would have been able to handle them, but Knight was the odd one out. He wasn't sure anyone on Remnant could take him out in single combat without getting the drop on him. Maybe Ashari, but even that felt like a lucky one-time win.
