  1. Oh lord, complexity for its own sake? I don't get that.
  2.
  3. For starters, why do you have to complicate something as simple as range attacking? Either have all range units be able to move and fire on the same turn, or don't. Advance Wars was doing the latter until Days of Ruin, and even then that involved specific higher cost units. Fire Emblem, Game Boy Wars 3, and Shattered Throne do the former. And you know what? Why balance around range units being unable to move and fire on the same turn? Why not just get range attacks under control in terms of their power, and let utility be the selling point of range units? Shattered Throne even runs with that philosophy to make them more interesting and infinitely less polarizing.

  5. But ah right, Shattered Throne has unit exclusive abilities too, I should complain about that too. Things is, Shattered Throne actually has unit exclusive abilities actually compliment the gameplay, encouraging creativity with wild combinations of units to deal more damage to enemy formations, while not being over-the-top in learning how to use them. The abilities also generally manage to reward good gameplay too:

  9. Here's where I can tear at Wargroove's ideas for abilities, especially in terms of execution: double attack power for a mobile unit simply for having them use maximum movement capacity right before attacking. Okay, why? There's already been a consistent problem with making the optimal behavior having units stay just barely out of enemies' ranges. What that ability does is reward flowchart and kiting arbitrarily. It's similar to Marth's tipper mechanic in Super Smash Bros., with all the stupidity to go with it. Even with Fridge Brilliance, Marth's tipper mechanic just made Marth stupid powerful in general, never mind that he already has reach to avoid being hit by powerhouse characters. That is so degenerate that this happens:

  13. I don't even manage to practice what I preach there and use the Back Air with welcome frequency, because the Forward Air is still spammable to effect. That's the hallmark of a balance problem when Back Air has painfully bad reach that it should reward conscious effort to use it well. It doesn't. Why? Because its effectiveness is ridiculously redundant.
  14.
  15. And you want to involve abilities that ***BEG*** for recreating that miserable problem? You can't be serious.
  16.
  17. Seriously, the freaking Second Move ability in Fire Emblem 4/5/9/10 is an infinitely better idea than this. Yes it made mounted units even more powerful than they already are, but at least it encouraged being closer to enemy units to make more of it with more Movement Power left over. I think it would have been significantly more balanced with a 2 Movement Power payment to use, so that the mounted units would be catchable at some point, but God knows Second Move proved to be a good idea. And hell, the Second Move ability in general involves simplicity, remember that concept? K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple Stupid. There's a reason I would prefer Game Boy Wars 3's general handling of damage calculation over Advance Wars': all that would be needed to determine effectiveness in a matchup involving an enemy unit that can't be reached immediately would be simple help screens in combination with math skills using an easily guessed damage formula, not some damn online guide you'd have to use on virtually every matchup in the damn game just to be considered "competent" in some arbitrary fashion.
  18.
  19. I especially get to complain when the increase for staying in place is much smaller, when it doesn't help range units much to begin with. The only way it does is by involving either battle lines, or sophisticated positioning from the ranged units that would justify a sufficient bonus.
  20.
  21. Efforts like yours horribly mutilate my faith that people like you even give a damn how you "balance" your games. Never mind that the mere point of game balance is to avoid dull and monotonous problems. You can claim your ideas are vibrant, but that's little more than a subscription to having flash without caring about substance. But what do I expect when you have the audacity to call ME toxic simply for calling out actual toxicity like [darwinism-induced mockery of a lust-induced murder victim](http://forums.warsworldnews.com/viewtopic.php?t=13109), while defending people who actually support that trash. I was never dealt this hostile idiocy by Checkmark Games. Maybe because Checkmark Games, while not perfect, was perfectly willing to listen. In fact, CMG recognized and cared that they aren't perfect, so they avoid being arrogant and consequently are willing to listen. It should be noted that Ethereal and its ilk not being affected by Combo Points damage was something I myself suggested to counterbalance it screwing with anti-armor with the damage halving. By contrast, **you prove yourselves willing to be so dismissive even when red flags of that idea of yours are made abundantly clear.**
  22.
  23. Of course, I expect you'd just dismiss this as "rambling" too. ***God forbid I care how kids would inevitably get frustrated by bad mechanics or awful execution even more than I do, or that I would want them inspired to make their own good takes that would improve on level design like [this](https://s25.postimg.org/4i50740u7/Got_DKishotenketsu.png).*** Since I have no doubt you'll think I should just shut up, you'll prove I'm wasting my time wading through the circlejerk zombies on redd-shit who want to exploit the incredibly shallow and biased administrations to be hiveminded while looking for scapegoats for their toxicity. And that will be fine by me, because I'm sick of that. So enjoy this post and don't even waste your time looking for a response from me thinking I'll care, because you sure as hell didn't. You have pulled similar enough crap to what I complain about [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9EdVoiHUVLE), with me at least being much more sure in this case about my response not degenerating into idiocy on my own part. Because you have broken your own rules. You lose.
  24.
  25. I can't wait until you eat humble pie. And when that happens, boy will I drink to that. Not with alcoholic beverages, mind, because there are complications to that aspect I'd rather address first before going with that. You get the point, so I bid you adieu.
