  1. A Reflection on a Scarred Path to New Beginnings
  2. Characters
  3. Rose: A female Mirror Dragon once the girlfriend of a powerful saiyan, turned breeding slave by the very person she had loved. Now, awakening to a new younger form, she seeks self-discovery and reclaimation.
  4. Zuzu: A Female Demon, came to watch Rose training two other Saiyans.
  5. Librarian Saibaman: A Purple Saibaman who is a living resident on Kami's Lookout high in the sky. An old familiar face.
  6.
  7. ------------------------------------------
  8.
  9. Rose groaned softly, opening her eyes, finding herself in a strange room she slowly sat up. She couldn't remember how she ended up here, remembering how she got her proved almost impossible. "Where...?" She questioned, looking around, noticing the medical stuff, it was probably the infirmary building. Getting up, Rose made her way out onto the lookout.
  10.
  11. Zuzzu, a female demon spots Rose and waves. Rose sees her and gives a soft nod. "Huh, new people." She said seeing new faces.
  12.
  13. "You're that dragon lady from the other day." The demon said, approaching. The purple Saibaman adorned with reading glasses approached Rose.
  14.
  15. "It seems this 'dragon lady' has recovered from that earlier skirmish now." He said, the small purple creature making his way over.
  16.
  17. "Can't remember what happened..." She said to the Saibaman, looking to Zuzu and tilting her head. "Have we met?" She questioned.
  18.
  19. "Not really, I saw you sparring with Pine and Occo the other day." She says making a small illusion reenacting the tail end of the fight. Rose watched and chuckled, the two certainly put up a fight.
  20.
  21. "And this day, you fought that one saiyan girl. Beat was her name." The purple Saibaman explained to Rose, much to her confusion. She fought her? When? The questions only further fueled her confusion.
  22.
  23. "I fought her? Last I remember I was teaching them instant transmission." She said, the entire fight having been an entire blank to the dragon.
  24.
  25. "Truly? So whatever started that fight is a mystery even to you?" The Librarian asked.
  26.
  27. "Yeah... I don't remember fighting her at all... Only that I woke up in a bed...." She said, confused further, she couldn't pull anything from her memory of that happening.
  28.
  29. The Saibaman frowned lightly at this. "Memory loss from the injuries? Or from something else? Curious...and you feel fine now?" The Saibaman asked, a bit concerned.
  30.
  31. "I... Can't remember." She said thinking. "It's all a blank after she started going crazy." She told the Saibaman. "And... A bit sore but yeah..." The dragon girl added.
  32.
  33. "Interesting. You remember her aggression at the very least, it seems." The Librarian said, perplexed.
  34.
  35. "That's... All I remember... After that... It's all blank..." Rose said.
  36.
  37. "What a strange point to blank out at. Food for thought, isn't it?" The Librarian scratched its chin at the situation. But more interestingly, it looked at Rose with a strange sense of nostalgia. "Hmm I've been on this lookout for a long time so this may sound a bit strange but...would your name happen to be Crystalia?" It asked her.
  38.
  39. She froze, immediately on guard. "Why?" She questioned, no one should know that name, but... She had been on the lookout before... Maybe that's how? Thoughts raced as she became defensive.
  40.
  41. The librarian's face simply creased into a gentle smile. "Apologies for pressing. You simply reminded me of an old visitor on this lookout." It said to the dragon girl, assuring that it bore no ill will in asking.
  42.
  43. Rose slowly relaxed. "I... Used to be." She said in a low tone. If it knew that name, there wasn't much to hide. Not a lot of pink dragons.
  44.
  45. "And now you are...?" The Saibaman asked.
  46.
  47. "Rose." She said. "That part of me died when I left that cursed prison..." She said quietly.
  48.
  49. "Rose? I'll remember that name then." The librarian smiled. "Welcome back then. Or more appropriately, greetings to our lookout, Rose." It said, giving a soft, welcoming smile.
  50.
  51. She relaxed and softly chuckled. "It's... It's good to be back..." She said. "I'm... Just glad to be free..." She said sitting down.
  52.
  53. "To be unbound and become yourself once again. You've started a new and long journey, Rose. I pray it's a fruitful one with little regrets." The librarian said, sitting with her.
  54.
  55. "Well... I've had quite the journey... New smaller form and all.... Which was surprising to find when I woke up... Found by a traveling monk of all things." She said with a soft smile.
  56.
  57. The Saibaman was shocked in hearing this. "A travelling monk? I suppose this planet still has its fair share of mysterious encounters left to be found, doesn't it?" it asked amused.
  58.
  59. She nodded softly. "It does. Helped me recover my mental state, though... The scars of what that Saiyan did still lingers... Probably why I have this younger form..." She said in retrospect.
  60.
  61. "Even the most bloody of scars will ease with time. Perhaps your journey will give you the healing you need." The Librarian Saibaman said.
  62.
  63. "It does. Helped me recover my mental state, though... The scars of what that *Saiyan* did still lingers... Probably why I have this younger form..." Rose said in retrospect.
  64.
  65. "Even the most bloody of scars will ease with time. Perhaps your journey will give you the healing you need." The purple Saibaman told her, giving a comforting look.
  66.
  67. "I guess..." She said, her thoughts trailing. "Still looking for that house..." She added, the mental pain still remained. "The last piece of that past..." She told him.
  68.
  69. The purple Saibaman looked to the dragon girl and tilted his head. "Is this a quest to let go? Or a quest for revenge?" He asked her curious for her reason.
  70.
  71. Rose paused, pondering. "I... Don't know..." She said, starting to re-think her choices.
  72.
  73. "Perhaps it will only be clear once you complete your duty. The question then will be if you are satisfied with the answer, hm?" The Saibaman questioned, pondering with her.
  74.
  75. She looked up at the sky. Red eyes pondering, reflecting. Sure, what happened was painful... But would going through with this be enough? Revenge? Letting go? Only one answer would come of it, and it'd need be seen through. "Maybe...." She said, pausing a moment before continuing. "Originally I wanted to watch his house burn to the ground, maybe I'd feel a sense of catharsis that the last piece of his pride would die along with him... But..." Once more she paused, reflecting. "Thinking on it... I'm not sure the answer would be fulfilling." She said thinking aloud.
  76.
  77. "Sometimes, the intention is what makes the action. Search inside and you'll find what it is that you need in this new life of yours." The Librarian responded to her earnest thoughts.
  78.
  79. Rose thought to herself, everything placing itself before her. How much was he going to shackle her? How much of him was going to control her life? She had escaped, she survived. He was dead. Couldn't that be enough? She inhaled then exhaled. "Maybe." She simply replied, slowly, it felt as if a burden had been lifted off of her.
