- The work herein was far above par. The animation was well done, and the story was remarkable. I found this a most enjoyable addition to the Turtleverse, and highly recommend it to anyone who was disappointed in the live action series.

Our favorite turtle characters were beautifully conceived with loving execution on the big screen. The story was a pleasant surprise in that it played well from beginning to end, included the more endearing characters of the live action series, and gave you an intriguing plot with competently engaging sub-plots.

The "boys" were amazing in design and animation, lending a dark reality to the Turtleverse possibilities, carrying this smoothly from whichever is your favorite live action Turtles movie, into this next chapter.

The action was beautiful. That's all there is to say. It was most excellent, and I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this work. It was well worth the wait, and I hope it does phenomenonally at the box offices to ensure a following installment.

And I just can't resist...COWABUNGA, DUDES!

It rates an easy 8.8/10 on the Animated Feature Film Scale from...

the Fiend :.
- Tmnt is based on the comic book Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. After it was a comic book the Turtles were made into a successful animated television series and later into live action movies. Now they are back in a computer generated animated film. The story follows the Turtles several years after they have stopped fighting crime and soon will have to return to the surface to fight a new evil. Instant of a lot of action sequences the film focuses more on the relationship between the Turtle brothers as a family and as a team and I thought that worked well. There is also a side story where they do battle against evil, but that is only part of the film and in all fairness it worked out well too. When I was younger I used to watch the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles television show and I remember liking that a lot as well as the live action movies. Having grown up and not seen anything related to the show or movies in anyway, I was still interested in seeing this film and after it was through I quite enjoyed it. The animation is reminiscent of a children's cartoon, but there are several scenes that top these looking actually quite well. Not to say that the rest of the film looks bad, but some scenes especially the backgrounds are quite well done. A lot of the camp from the original live action movies is gone and we still get a bit of juvenile humour and dialogue from the film, but it didn't annoy me or distract me from the film in anyway and after awhile I got used to it. I guess what I really enjoyed from this film is that it was entertaining throughout and it always kept my interest and for a film that will probably appeal more to younger viewers I felt there was enough to entertain and keep the attention of those over 18 as well. Also as I stated earlier there was some good character scenes between the Turtle brothers and their family and I thought that it was well written and played out pretty good for an animated children's film. So for having some great backgrounds, good character scenes and for just being a flat out entertaining movie that I would call a popcorn film (not some Oscar worthy masterpiece) that was a lot of fun just for the sake of seeing something light and entertaining then I recommend Tmnt to children and fans of the series, comics and movies and for the adult viewers who will no doubt be going to the movie with their children then there may be enough to keep them entertained as well.
- The story -- something to do with an ancient evil returning after 3,000 years -- plays like a multi-episode story arc of the TV series.
