Doing it for her

You let out a low grumble as you drive home, reflecting on your day at work. Your job is becoming increasingly demanding as of late, working longer hours, picking up coworker's slack, and a myriad of other grievances. As you exit and lock your car, you start to wonder why you keep working at your shitty job.

When you unlock your door and step inside your house, you're given a welcome reminder as to why.

You quickly catch sight of a blue blur bounding towards you from the kitchen, only stopping to make a big leap towards your chest. This tiny, bundle of excitement is your girlfriend, Gawr Gura. You only have time to wrap your arms around her before she starts peppering your face with quick, tiny kisses. You can't help but giggle at your girlfriend's assault, feeling all the stress you gain fade away in an instant. After a bit, Gura relents, opting to cuddle her head into your chest instead, her tail swishing happily.

"They kept you late again" you hear her mumble. "You should let me talk to your boss, I'll make sure he doesn't keep you late again"  she threatened with a toothy grin. you let out an amused huff, as much as you'd love to you're girlfriend maul your boss, you still need your job at the end of the day. As you entertain the thought, a pleasant aroma of home-cooked food hits you.

"Say, Gura, what did you cook up tonight?" you inquire, already looking forward to whatever she has ready for you. In response, she slid down and started to drag you (with surprising strength) to the kitchen. "I hope you like meatloaf!" she said, cheerily. You smile, Gura's happiness thoroughly infecting you. You knew dinner was her favorite time of the day, being one of the few precious moments that you get to share with her between your job and her streaming. You take a seat at the kitchen table, stifling a laugh as you watch your girlfriend get atop a stool to prepare a plate for you. Gura caught wind of this and shot you a playful glare.

Once she was finished, she skipped over, set the plate in front of you. Then took her rightful seat, right atop your lap, a smug smile plastered on her face. Gura always stuck to you like glue, hardly letting you out of arms reach. You know she got really lonely whenever you were at work, and that fact always tugged at your heart. But enough negative thoughts, your loving girlfriend made you a wonderful homecooked dinner and you ought to enjoy it!

Without further ado, you start to dig into your dinner, which is delicious as always. For supposedly being from a long lost underwater society, the image of country bumpkin feels more appropriate for your girlfriend. You make quick work of your pleasant dinner, Gura savouring the fact that you enjoy her cooking so much. After you finished you decide to give your girlfriend a fitting reward for such a fine meal. You reach down and start to pat her head with one hand, and softly rub her cheek with the other. Gura sinks deeper into your chest, closing her eyes and letting out a satisfied "Aaa", her tail starting to whip into a frenzy. You loved spoiling your girlfriend like this, seeing her adorable reaction.

Suddenly an evil thought appeared in your mind, a devilish grin following soon after. You decided to stop petting Gura, who immediately took notice and looked up at you with narrowed eyes, "Heyyy, who told you to stop mister" She said, thoroughly annoyed as you stare at the wall absentmindedly. Seeing the lack of response, she decided to make her point perfectly clear. Suddenly she grabbed your right arm and gave it a hard nibble, not hard enough to puncture the skin, but hard enough to make her point clear. You quickly retract your arm in response, sputtering out quick apologies.

Point made.

You quickly rectify the situation by resuming to pet her, which made her immediately docile again. This contained for a good while, then you let out a yawn, the combination of your long day, and a full belly makes you very drowsy. You softly scoop up your girlfriend and head to your bedroom, plopping down roughly on the bed, eliciting a giggle out of the shark girl. As you two lay in bed before you succumb to sleep, you reach out and give her one final kiss on her forehead, "I love you Gura" you declare.

"I love you too" is the last thing you hear from your wife-to-be before you nod off.
