  9.
  10. Today, shall be the start of a new era for the world. The world is growing, and with it, the evils, the demons, and the dark corruption.
  11. Darkness looms over the stability of the world...
  12.
  13. The Cardinal Gods, our protectors and bearers of the world's balance, have united their infinite forces and wisdom to devise a strategy to save the world from its impending doom.
  14.
  15. The Gods began by creating four magical artifacts, imbued with their divine power.
  16. From a piece of his night-black shell, Genbu the Black Tortoise forged the Amulet of the North. Its bearer shall be as resilient and as healthy as its creator.
  17. From one of his infinite azure scales, Seiryuu the Azure Dragon forged the Amulet of the East. Its bearer shall be as courageous and as mighty as its creator.
  18. From one of his sharpest claws, Byakko the White Tiger forged the Amulet of the West. Its bearer shall be as virtuous and unwavering as its creator.
  19. From one of his fiery feathers, Suzaku the Vermilion Bird forged the Amulet of the South. Its bearer shall be as graceful and passionate as its creator.
  20.
  21. The Gods have named the artifacts, the Cardinal Amulets.
  22.
  23. When reunited, the Amulets may bring its bearer so much power, it may touch with a divine hand, reach the divine heights and summon the Gods' protection and help at it wishes and desires.
  24.
  25. The Gods, in their infinite wisdom, made the artifacts untouchable to the common folks, the covetous, the unfaithful, the greedy, and the demons. Only one being, brought to this world from another world, may touch and bear the Amulets; for such artifacts must be earned.
  26.
  27. This being, known to the common folk as the Contestant, is the divine Chosen One, the only being that may touch and bear the Amulets.
  28.
  29. It is the Chosen One's destiny.
  30.
  31. To triumph against all forces that oppose it,
  32. To reunite the four Amulets and summon the divine power within,
  33. To reach the Heavens' highest point and see the darkness which menace the world's stability,
  34. To restore order and peace and establish a new era, bringing ultimate harmony to the world once again.
  35.
  36. When the Chosen One comes among us in this world, the world shall accept it as one of their own, and treat it no differently as one of their own, for the One is to brave all opposition, overcome all challenges and defeat all enemies, small or large. The One is free of the burden of duty, obligation, or faction, free to make its own decisions, free to make friends and enemies with whomever it wants - the One is blessed with the divine gift of freedom, for only a free being, conscious of its own choices and responsibilities, is virtuous enough to touch divine power. The Gods may not intervene, and may only offer their protection via the Amulets it is destined to find and bear.
  37.
  38. May the One prevail and establish once again divine order.
  39. Or may the One perish in its attempt, leaving the world prey to the tainted desires of the corrupt.
  40.
  41. Infinite is the wisdom of the Cardinal Gods.
  42. Absolute is the destiny of the Chosen One.
