Shiro placed the disk in the computer like an offering on an altar. It was the first in a collection they'd found in what was once Alfor's war room. Whatever was on it and its brothers could very well be the most important, highly guarded information any of the paladins had ever seen. It could even provide some insight on the lions or the war against the galra. The five of them held their breath as the computer read it. A window popped up, Shiro tentatively clicked what he assumed was the play button.

"Coran, hurry!" A woman's voice burst through the speakers, she sounded...frightened? The camera seemed to be pointed at the floor.
"I'm on my way, your highness!" The footage shook, making everything an unrecognizable blur for the next few seconds.

"Jesus, I'm gonna get motion sickness." Hunk groaned. Pidge shushed him.

Coran came to a stop and aimed the camera forward, perfectly framing a cherubic toddler in a mouse-eared onesie. The paladins looked at eachother in confusion. On screen, the baby took a few steps towards Coran, chubby arms outstretched, before falling down.
"Good job princess!" Coran's voice swelled with pride. An Altean woman came into frame and scooped up the child. Her daughter, most likely. They had the same eyes, though the few whispy curls on the baby's head could barely compare to her mother's cloudlike mane.
"Indeed." The woman smiled and planted a kiss on her daughter's forehead, "It won't be long until she's ready to hold a sword. You'd like that, wouldn't you Allura?"
Shiro ejected the video with a sigh. "We found home videos?" Keith asked, shifting through the stack they'd gathered.
"Maybe it was just the one?" Pidge offered. She grabbed a random disk from the middle of the stack, "Try another."
"If we must." He took the disk and popped it in haphazardly. "I was hoping these would be important."

This video began seemingly in the middle of a conversation. Two alteans the paladins had never seen were passionately arguing. "Am I not enough for you? Was I EVER enough for you?" Tears beaded up in the woman's eyes as she yelled. The man was silent, he refused to meet her eyes. "You know she's galra, right? I've heard the way the other men talk about her."
"It doesn't matter--"
"Like I didn't matter? I hope you're happy with yourself Tovah. I hope you can live with what you've done." The woman left, slamming a door behind her. The camera lingered on Tovah for a few seconds before cutting to--a montage? Footage of random people with unreadable captions floated across the screen, set to music. Wait a minute...it was opening credits. To an altean soap opera.

"We just found a bunch of dvr recordings!" Hunk said.
"On the bright side, I missed television." Lance elbowed him with a grin.
"True...think they have any cartoons?"
