Short RP Story: An Unexpected Comfort.

Shiro’s eyes had shot open, having awoken from yet another nightmare, this one a little different from normal, he got up and made his way to a little lake nearby.

Petra had woken up, hearing commotion outside, she saw Shiro near the lake, he seemed like he was reflecting on something, she also saw Glacies but she wasn’t concerned with him.

She trots over, slowing when she arrives and lays down by his side. "Greetings." She said to the Doragon’Neko.

“Oh...Hi Petra... I just..woke up from a nightmare is all.” The beast said, seeming a little distraught.

"What are you thinking about? Was it one of those?" The guardian figured she knew what was up, but that's pretty rude.

“Oh no, it wasn’t one of those nightmares, thank the gods for that, but this one was a little different...” Shiro had responded, unsure of how to explain this.

“Then?” She asked curiously, Shiro had a hard time forming the words, Petra responds with this to edge him on.
“We’ve been allies for awhile, I am not going anywhere...”

“Okay.” Shiro Breathes. “Well in my nightmare, it involves Silver, I was cornered, trying to run from her presence, she locked me in a shadow and ate me...cause she’s a rude arsehole.” He explained.

"Ah.." Petra responded, She looks a little sad.** "How terrible. That should really be used to build trust, not terror."

“Yeah but....that’s not even the worst part...” The masked beast responds

“Hm?” Petra listened on, curious as to where Shiro was going with this.

“I....I...I...” Shiro said, feeling sheepish.

“You can say it.” Petra responded, edging him on.

Shiro sighed, not wanting to say it. “I....I liked it okay? I don’t know why at all, I tried not to like it but I failed.” He explained, sounding embarrassed.

"Do not be ashamed! Turns out, guardians have been.. nomming, for millenia. Partners combine their souls for moments to learn about eachother much deeper than what you could normally do with words and physical touch. We simply never had a name for it, as it was never invented. It just... Happened to exist one day." The stone guardian explained educationally.

“Really....that’s certainly an interesting process but...WHY do I enjoy it? I never thought it would and tried not to but my efforts were in vain...” The Doragon’Neko has responded.

"You enjoy it because it is similar to a hug, but much more intimate. It is not immoral or perverted, and you should not try to avoid what joys you." Petra responds, sounds slightly motherly now.

“I see, thank you for that I suppose....I...Damn I don’t want to say this...” Shiro said, not wanting to delve into the subject.

Petra urged the masked beast on with silence.

Shiro Breathes, reluctant to say this.

“I want to...try this at some point...” he said, his tone sounding a little apprehensive.

Petra smiles warmly. "I understand, and it is alright to ask."

Shiro’s mood increased a little. “I see...I ask you because well...I trust you is all...only if you want to...”

“I am available now” the stone guardian smiles.

Shiro was Silent. Then he chimes in.

“Very Well then, we can do it.”

Petra smiles, she eyes the beast, noticing his size was about 3 feet, Given he’s half her height and her body was as hot as the earths core, physical eating wasn’t happening here, but she had another plan.

“I can’t physically eat you but...I have another plan.” She smiles, Shiro was curious as to what she meant by a plan.

Petra closes her eyes and mentally leaves her body, entering Shiro's mind. Her conciousness feels heavy and warm, in a good way, Shiro was surprised by the warm consciousness entering his own, but she felt warm.

She envelops his mind with her own, mixing and mingling. His mind is attracted to hers... His? Hers? What's the difference? If you've lived as long as us, minds start to loose distinction. Shiro had felt like he was slipping but...he didn’t seem to mind. After another minute, Petra dissengages and enters her own mind again, blinking slowly with a half-smile on her snout.

“Woah! What just happened?” Shiro bellows, sounding surprised from the process that occurred.

"Mind melding. Our minds were one for a moment." She sighs happily. "Do you feel as if you truly understand me now?"

“Actually...surprisingly...yeah, I do.” He gave a small half smile.

"That will fade after awhile, but it still feels.. warm. Even I will lose that sensation." The wyvern elaborated.

“I see...I’m curious, how exactly did you do it with Nera? Or was it that?” Shiro asked curiously.

"Yes, it was very similar to that, but we both left our physical bodies and melded." Petra had explained.

“Ah I see, You got a nice system going, one thing I was curious about was...your 10 feet and Nera’s 40 feet, I wasn’t sure if Nera just scoops you up and eats you.” Shiro gave a light chuckle.

"Oh no, that is rather different for us. Guardians merge without bodies more so than with them." She said. She gave a small chuckle at Shiro’s little thought.

“Gotcha...” The beast responds, Meanwhile a noise could be heard from the back, it was breathing.

“Ah good gods, it’s good to friggin calm down for once.” The voice said, it was Glacies, The ice dragon of The Fang Posse, with an attitude that matches his powers.

“Glacies? W-What are you doing here?” He said, hoping he didn’t hear the conversation from before.

“Ah I had a nightmare and needed to calm down, having a bit of a paddy, I heard talking from above the water but didn’t manage to earwig there, what’s going on?” Glacies said, his voice having a slight English accent to it

“It’s not your problem.” Petra said, eyeing the frost dragon with suspicion.

Glacies scoffed, wanting to tell her that she ain’t the boss of him...a terrible idea, luckily for him, Shiro chimed him before he could say it.

“I just...had a nightmare is all...” Shiro said quietly.

“Oh no....Was It another one of those? With your past?” The ice dragon sad, sounding concerned for the beast.

“Oh nonono, not this time, but it was different.” Shiro clarifies.

“I see, was it worse than mine cause man mine was blumming terrible.”

"And what was yours?" Petra sounds slightly less concerned for Glacies's bad dream than for Shiro's.

“Ah your just take the mickey if I tell you that.” The ice dragon responds.

“....?...” Petra was confused at the dragons choice of words.

“I think he means teasing.” Shiro explained, having minimal knowledge on Glacies’s British slang.

“Ah, Well I won’t do that.” Petra said to Glacies.

“Ah okay, well I was chuffed, having a banging Time, when the queen of all arseholes, Cahaya, decided to turn up like a goddamn jackass, she took all my legs and removed my powers with those bloody magic inhibitors King Kaze up north Uses, she told me if I did the insurmountable feet of scaling a mountainside with only my claws and some type of doofer, then I’ll find a guardian and they’ll heal me. Well, hours of failure and sliding back down and I decided to go to spare I did, not helping was that psychopathic Shadow Queen Silver Being In cahoots on this.” Glacies explained. “And I was mad livid, she really queered my onions with that.”

Petra makes a noise of surprise, but doesn't seem to know how to respond.
“...It was not the missing limbs that terrified you? Stripped of your most basic parts?"

“Oh no it did, I was gutted in fact, but failing for ages and Cahaya mocking my failure like a bloody knobhead turned my despair into fuming rage, and Silver’s bloody snake at the end was just, Argh, I wanna take her head and tear her a new one I do.” Glacies ranted.

“I can see why...Sounds like something the two of them would do.” Shiro responds.

“Yeah I wouldn’t be surprised if Cahaya decided to bloody marry Silver for all I knew” He said, Petra following with a nod, chuckling at that thought.
“So Shiro was this nightmare worse than That?” Glacies asked.

“I don’t know about worse than that but...it’s hard to explain...” he didn’t want to say it.

“Hard to explain is a rubix tetragon made by Pythias and Cryll, I’m sure it ain’t that bad.” The ice dragon responded, seeming fairly accepting.

Petra simply watches, waiting to see if Shiro would be comfortable telling him.

“Okay, Well...Silver...ate me alive....” Shiro started.

“That’s not particularly weird, She does that, she’s a bit of a wankmonger like that.” Glacies responds.

“Yes She is, but the thing is.....I..kinda liked it....yes, I liked being eaten, I said it” Shiro seemed ashamed, waiting for Glacies reaction.

Glacies gave a light chuckle. “Is that all? Shiro you silly bugger, you made it seem like your family was killed in an eternal war, but yours is perfectly fine, certainly several notches better than the bloody shitshow I was saddled with, your spawn you got that one” He said reassuringly.

“Really?” Shiro was surprised Glacies was okay with this.

“Of course, I don’t deal with that myself but I have no issues with it at all” he gave a light smile, Petra chuckles, It ain’t often you see the glacial reptile smile.
