- Many people like what mafia is today: a fun, arguably addictive, game that involves strategy. But where did it all start?
- Origins
- It (the mafia we know of today) is actually based off of Mafia, a party game that is played at parties and forums. Each person signs up and the host randomly assigns them a role. There's also another variation besides the automated mafia we know today: RTM, or Real Time Mafia, is where a host asks for people to join, and what role they want to be (must pick from a list, and must pick a faction.) The roles are randomly assigned, but not to the people who asked for them. For example, if someone asked for a Bus Driver, they typically wouldn't be given a Bus Driver role. Instead, another player gets Bus Driver. The more players there are, the less of a chance you have of getting that role (unless someone picks it of course).
