- Q: What is Kaizo IronMon?
- A: It's a challenging randomizer ruleset for Pokémon games. All Pokémon, their stat spreads, their evolutions and their moves are randomized. The most immediate problem is that all wild and trainer Pokémon have their levels boosted by 50%, and your run is over if your Pokémon faints. The vast majority of runs are expected to die early. - Q: How does it make sense for a tournament?
- A: Competitors have one week to run 10 seeds, and gain points upon reaching checkpoints in each seed (e.g. beating Rival 1, beating Falkner, beating Archer). If you score higher than your opponent, you move on to the next round, and keep going until you win! If you lose round 1, you're placed into a free-for-all bracket with other round 1 losers and compete to become the Skill Issue Winner.

- Q: Are there any rules that deviate from the classic Kaizo Ironmon ruleset?
- A: There are a few in order to make it a little more likely to get further in the game: you can pick your starter in the lab, legendaries will not appear in the lab, and TMs are 100% compatible with any Pokémon (but you're limited to teaching 2 TMs, and they must be gym leader TMs. You can teach 1 more TM after beating Lance).
- There are two modifiers unique to Season 7:
- Illegal moves are treated as though they have 1 PP, and can therefore be used to a limited extent.
- Last Resort Bonus gives you 1 point for every Gym Leader you beat having used your entire moveset.
