PJ's trip to UPS

Ok.  Hell of a day.

So, first I had to stop by the Town Hall to take care of something.  I walk inside and see a sign that says "Town Hall was closed early today because of catastrophic sewer backup".  Ok.  Scratch that.  Let's go to UPS and get my PC.

Background: my PC was supposed to be delivered yesterday, but was rescheduled after no attempt was made.  I know this because I was home all day, sitting no more than 20 feet from my front door.  So I placed a request to have it held at the UPS store so I could just come pick it up.

I show up and ring the bell.  First time, nothing happens.  Second time, the bell buzzes and then starts screeching like crazy.  While I'm waiting, two more guys show up behind me to drop off packages.  A woman finally shows up.
"How can I help you?"
"I'm here to pick up a package."
"It was out for delivery today."
"...no?"
"Name?"
"DiCesare"
"OHHHHHHHHHHHH.  Yup.  Ok, hold on"
"Do you need to see ID?"
"No no no, that's ok."

She goes to leave, sees the two other guys just have packages to drop off.
"Just dropping those off?  I can take them."
"Yea uhhh, your drop-off box is jammed."
Other guy: "Actually...I just tried it and the door pulled completely off and fell on the ground."

Woman leaves, is visibly talking with someone else and keeps looking back through the window at me.  Finally comes back with the package.
"Ok, so this was attempted to be delivered yesterday but the driver said he heard something rattling around in there so he brought it back to the store.  I opened it up to inspect it.  One of the CDs got loose (side note, fucking HOW?!), so I put it back in the case and taped it up.  I looked at the case and everything else looked fine.  There appears to be no damage."

So...my package didn't arrive yesterday because of rattling...and the right choice was to turn around while in my parking lot and bring it back to UPS for them to inspect instead.  Anyways, I pick it up, bring it home and open it up.  The leg of the computer, literally the first thing you see when you open up the package, is broken completely off.  The plastic is snapped.  It's not a latch or something.  I want to reiterate that this package was held at the UPS store after the inspection and I picked it up myself from there.  Someone they didn't see anything wrong with this???

I filed a damage report, and they expect me to wait 5 business days before I even hear further instruction.  That doesn't even count the time it'll take to order replacement parts, ship it back to Klaige, and have it shipped back here.  This is likely a month of time (and potential income!) lost.  Fucking UPS.
