The doors blew off the holding room as Sonic and Tom both shouted, “Maddie!”

In the smoldering hole, a human woman stood. Around her waist was Tails’ tool belt. It was a good fit. “Come on,” Maddie said. “We’re busting out of here!”

“You’re amazing, you know that?” Tom kissed her after she removed his handcuffs. “How did you pull this off?”

“It wasn’t too tough. Been working my way with a little alien tech,” she said, showing off a few of Tails’ miniature explosives.
