Jaune's eyes went wide as the man sauntered by, still grumbling – but dressed in the same uniform as the militia from earlier. How easy it would have been if he'd kept walking. For a moment Jaune thought he might, but then, as though hearing his thoughts – the man's head turned to the left. The guard's mouth fell open, eyes going wide.

Neo was on him in an instant. From pushing Jaune up against a wall to suddenly being behind the grizzled man with her arm around his neck, she wrenched his body to the side, flipping him onto his stomach as she throttled him. Jaune rushed forward, arms outstretched but unsure what he was supposed to do. Part of him wanted to help the guard, the other Neo.

It took less than six seconds for the man to go limp. A frame of time Jaune could barely understand. Surely he could hold his breath for longer than that, which meant Neo had done something else to knock him out.
