—personality description:
◦ growing up in a strict household, the boy was taught how to properly act, and when he didn't comply to the strict rules he would receive a punishment. the caused him to be the same as he grew older, not so much the whole 'i will kill you if you don't comply to my every demand' but more of the sense 'please watch your manners and don't be disrespectful unless you want me to unleash something you have never seen before.' he is often seen as very stern and vocal, often looked at as being overbearing and being the wrong kind of mother in the other members eyes (they all want a fun mom not satan as a parent). akihiko is well known for being overbearing, but it's because he cares and is always worried.
◦ akihiko is very high strung. he is infamous for being a worry wart and fretting over the other members. the other 4 members lead him to stressing through their idiotic antics, and he feels that it's his duty to keep them in line or else something horrible might happen. he is very motherly which can be seen if you can get over the fact that he very vocal about his opinion on the others bad behavior. he often worries about the other members mental and physical health, and tends to put them before his own. he always makes sure his member are eating right, sleeping enough, and not overexerting their strengths. and although the other members appreciate his fretting, they wish he would tone it down a bit, but he can't do so no matter how much he tries, simply because he grew up being a parent to his little brothers. nevertheless he is a good motherly figure that is genuinely concerned about the others and keeps them in line (as well as takes care of them).
 ◦ akihiko is also very smart, and is almost seemingly impossible to lie to (especially when it comes to the members since he knows them so well). he can easily tell when the other members are in a funk, whether they be angry or sad (and if they are sad you better watch out because mama bear will attack anyone that hurt his children). he often helps the other members with simple things that they struggle with (this is mostly the alien character). his intelligence comes in handy when the other members are being bullied or talked down by another group. he will quickly use his wit to make the other person feel stupid (this basically stating that he is very protective of his members).
◦ while akihiko may speak down to the other members in either a bitchy or assertive way, he is very very polite with strangers. due to being raised with strict parents, he is considered the perfect gentleman, one with amazing manners who speaks and acts very formally with elders and strangers. his manners exceed the normal asian person, one who is already taught to be polite, often surprising elders and strangers which makes him very likable by said people.

 ◦ akihiko was raised in a strict Asian household and learned as early as he could comprehend: how to treat elders with respect, proper table manners, and manners in general. he was sculpted into the perfect child by his parents, a true gentleman. and as many parents not only in Japan but everywhere wanted their son to become dedicated to something that would benefit him in some way and so that lead him to taking the music route (with much persuasion from his mom). his mother than taught him herself how to play the violin and sent him to a voice coach. he was consumed in music, it taking up most of his leisure time and at times he felt pressure to please his parents.
◦ the boy grew up the oldest of 4 siblings (all boys). his parents, very busy with work, never had time to care for their children, so akihiko was left to care for his brothers. at a young age, starting out in grade school, akihiko had to act like an adult, feeding and caring for his little brothers while his parents got a proper income. this led him and his brothers to not seeing his parents a lot, and when they did see them, they often didn't show love and compassion to their children but rather harshly criticized small, unimportant things. his parents often made their kids feel inferior to one another, saying things like "takehiko why can't you eat properly like akihiko," or "akihiko you maybe the oldest but you need to learn to be more compliant like shirou." the left many paternal things up to akihiko once he became of age, leaving the boy to make his brothers three meals a day, make sure they were showered for bed, dressed for school, they said their prayers before they slept, and made sure their needs were met. he also was left to do chores (with the help of his brothers minus tadashi who was too young at the time). he walked his brothers to school everyday while also having to take his younger brother to daycare while he was learning. after school he would often have to get groceries and other such necessities for the family. all of these things led him to acting like a mom when his parents were away. while he was a big brother that they could go to for advice, he still had his duties to take care of them when his parents were busy with work. This led him to become a parent more than a brother for if the boys were acting out of place his mother and father would surely have his head on a stick. doing all of these things made him resent his parents tremendously. he couldn't understand why they couldn't make at least the smallest amount of time in the day to do things like get groceries or drop off tadashi at daycare. it infuriated him that they had so many children in the first place, yet when their first child was old enough they left him to use the tools they had taught him to teach and care for their own children. what made it worse is that they would critique him harshly instead of caring for their kids themselves, which angered akihiko even more. they did all of this while also exercising the importance of school and keeping up with his music classes, taught to him by his mother. this put a bunch of stress on akihiko's back, so much so that he became depressed and even had suicidal thoughts because he simply couldn't handle the stress his parents were putting on him. however he hid it for his brothers whom he loves immensely, not wanting them to experience the struggles of parenthood at a ridiculously young age.
 ◦ when he asked his parents about going to korea to be an idol, they immediately said no. this came from the fact that when his mother pushed him towards the music business, she didn't mean the korean music industry, something that was unpredictable and cutthroat, but rather wanted her son to go into becoming a music teacher/coach like her. the point was also made, more by his father than anything, that he had duties at home in Japan. despite being old enough to make his own decisions, he still knew that if he went behind his parents back he would find himself living in his own personal hell, crafted by the hands of his parents.
◦ despite being told no, akihiko didn't stand for that. the already stubborn boy became even more so after being told now when he wanted to pursue this idea in his mind he had dubbed a dream, the dream in fact. fresh out of highschool he decided to enroll in one of the many universities that had given him scholarships, wanting to major in music composition. he knew that this could be one of the ways he could show his parents how serious about this his was. while in the university, he worked towards first getting his associates, as well as being a violinist in the university's orchestra. in that time he also, through one of his professor's he got an internship as amuse entertainment, a big japanese music company. there he was shown many things about the music business and became much more immersed and involved in the music.
◦ akihiko managed to get his associates in less than 2 years due to doing online classes on top of his regular ones. with this he proved to his parents that he was capable of managing his dream, and that he knew what he wanted to do. impressed by his strive and determination akihiko's parents wholeheartedly agreed to let the boy travel to south korea to become a trainee. so a few months before his 20th birthday, he went to korea to become a trainee.

◦ that same day while waiting in line for the subway to arrive, a woman asked him if he would be interested in auditioning for an entertainment company, saying that he had the idol look. he replied yes and the woman immediately gave him a card and to call her for an audition. despite being angry and bitter about sm, the one company he wanted to get in to, he agreed to audition for mystic entertainment, telling himself that if he worked as hard as he had been doing that he would make it somehow.
