so i have a lot of conflicting ideas and stuff


but the character on the cover is Squee, who is kind of an apprentice in this band of interdimensional travelers. He is going on his final "test" after learning to shift dimensions fairly well. He is then tasked with finding several very specific objects, these objects are specific to the point that a very very small amount of dimensions have that specific object. These objects are often very powerful(magical or otherwise) for the reason that more power means less probability for existing in a given dimension (kind of an odd universe rule but yeh). these items are what the travelers use most of their time hunting and containing, so that no one else could get their hands on them.

Along his journey he meets an old traveler who's gone mad from a sickness known only to these travelers called Axelosis. the sickness is caused by either excessive or improper dimension shifting, which causes severe loss of your grip on reality. The sickness is named after "axis" as in.. u know what an axis is. And the thinking is, that when you shift dimension you actually shift your position on the 4th dimension, which then takes you to a different 3d dimension (cause we live in 3d ofc).
Whilie shiftingg the traveler can sense the 4th dimension in some odd way. experiencing enough of this 4d stuff makes you mad, and makes you feel like 3d is fake. but your brain still cant comprehend what 4d is cause you are a 3d creature. Ya boi just wanna everything to be 4d all of a sudden.

ANYWAY. Squee has somehow not heard of (/ been slacking on homework about) Axelosis. This old sick man then travels with Squee for a while, while convincing him to both steal the items for himself and to inspect the 4d dimension more (to make him sick). They travel for a while, find some items. Then the old traveler dies somehow (dunno yet). and Squee carries on.

he collects the last couple of items and, following the old travelers advice, his Axelosis gets worse and worse until he snaps. He gets this ficsation with bending all our 3d dimensions into 4d space. beginning some kind of cross-dimensional cataclysmic event. causing havoc in infinite dimensions.

not sure about ending yet. but i have this which might be lil boring:
The travelers panic for a while, searching for squee, to stop him. They do find him tho, and do their best to stop the lil boi. The best they can do is to lock him inside a dimension known
