  1. Scenes
  2. -The Meeting: The Tent Beneath the Overpass
  3. --Jonas Alford-Wyatt/"Brother Wolf" begins the scene drawing in a sketchbook in his tent. Not long afterwards, an old black man named Mack calls his name from outside of the tent, then peeks in and tells him that someone's here to talk to him. After this, [other character] appears through the tent opening and the conversation begins.
  4. --The conversation starts off under the pretense that [other character] is going to buy a portrait of themselves from him, but eventually turns in a different direction after they reveal that they wish to travel to the Waking Dark and that they've been told that he's capable of getting them there. A discussion regarding the Waking Dark proceeds from there.
  5. --After the discussion is over and [other character] has convinced Jonas to take them there, a sequence passes in which he takes several items out of a box at his side, many of which are herbs that potentiate dreams. Among these herbs is a particular plant called Artemisia ignotum, which Jonas describes as "Nightwort" and "Stranger's Wormwood". He explains that this mixture of herbs can either be smoked or burned within the tent, and asks [other character] which they would prefer to do, noting that nobody on the street they're on will so much as look twice at two people smoking in one of the tents in the overpass. The herbs are lit shortly after, and soon enough, the two characters drift off to sleep.
  6. -Arrival: The Darker Side
  7. --After a series of increasingly strange vignettes, [other character] manages to pierce the veil of their dream and begins drifting into unknown territory. Eventually, they wake up in a slightly altered version of the tent, surrounded by a light red glow with no apparent source. Before they can set off wondering whether or not they arrived where they were supposed to, Jonas' voice speaks up behind them, telling them they made it. Some further conversation leads to him telling them to follow him outside of the tent, wanting to "show (them) around" for a while.
  8. When the two of them step out of the tent, [other character] notices immediately that the day has turned to night and the two of them have emerged into an unfamiliar location. The overpass and its many tents have been replaced by a dark and secluded alleyway lit by what appears to be a sourceless moonlight. Jonas assures them that there's nothing wrong with their surroundings, and that they'll be perfectly safe as long as they stay close to each other. Tentatively, they choose to believe him.
  9. After this point, Jonas walks [other character] through the basics of how to explore and control the environs of the Waking Dark, answering their questions and explaining to them in simple terms some of the intricacies of the place. The two of them wander throughout a dark and empty version of Oakland, coming across altered versions of many landmarks of the city. Eventually (and inexplicably) they make it back to the tent, after which they have an exchange that leads to a surprising revelation.
  10. -Wandering Lost: The Desert Shrouded
  11. --Short scene in which Jonas teaches [other character]
  12. -Admission: Back in the Tent
  13. -Sleep Horror: The Distorted City
