  1. Tenchi Souzou (Terranigma)
  2.
  3. Platform: Snes (/ SFC)
  4. Released (d.m.y):
  5. 20.10.1995 (J)
  6. 19.12.1996 (PAL)
  7.
  8. Based on: NTSC-J-version (SHVC-AQTJ-JPN)
  9.
  10.
  11.
  12. - The physical damage you deal is (Offense - enemy Defense)mterc.
  13. × Offense = wATP + (7+Lv)/8*Str
  14. × Enemy Defense = (11+Lv)/12*Con
  15. × m: Attack type multiplier (see below)
  16. × t: Attack type resistance (1,0; 1,5; 2,0; 0,5; 0,25; 0)
  17. × e: Elemental resistance (same)
  18. × r: Random variable (0,75; 0,875; 1,0; 1,125; 1,25)
  19. × c: Critical hit roll (2,0)
  20.
  21. - You can perform five different physical attacks:
  22. Normal | 1,0 |
  23. Rush Attack | 0,75 | Attack rapidly
  24. Middle Slicer | 1,5 | Run + Attack
  25. Spin Attack | 1,25 | Jump + Attack
  26. Leg Slider | 2,0 | Run + Jump + Attack
  27.
  28. - The latter part of the Leg Slider is actually considered a Mid Slicer,
  29. although the 2,0x multiplier still remains.
  30. - The Slicer should by far be your most commonly used attack due to the
  31. invincibility it gives you. The Slider is more powerful, but it's slower
  32. and you can easily end up taking damage while using it unless it's a kill.
  33. - Critical hit rate is something like (9 + Luck - eLuck)/128.
  34. - I've listed the Offense values (without weapon ATP) in the stat chart.
  35. However, if you end up using Str Potions (and you probably should), they
  36. won't be accurate anymore.
  37. - Ark's defense is aDFP + (7+Lv)/12*Con. Enemies have a minimum amount of
  38. damage that they deal, and stronger enemies have a higher minimum (9 pod
  39. at highest). Some enemies have ranged attacks that may have a different
  40. ATP than their usual contact ATP.
  41. - Blocking has no effect on melee attacks, but does negate most projectile
  42. attacks. Doesn't matter which direction you're facing.
  43. - Jumping can be used to avoid contact damage if you're precise enough,
  44. not that there's much need.
  45. - You can buy magic at magic shops. The spells are imbued into Prime Blue
  46. crystals, which can be found scattered throughout the game. Once a spell
  47. is cast, the Prime Blues are made available for use again.
  48. - Magical damage is (Mag - enemy MDF)er.
  49. × Mag = base + (7+Lv)/8*Luck
  50. × Enemy MDF = (11+Lv)/12*Luck
  51. - In the end, the only spell worth using is the Kusa no Medal. Offensive
  52. magic is unnecessary for normal enemies and largely ineffective against
  53. bosses (with two exceptions).
  54. - There is no real penalty for dying. You'll simply be warped back to the
  55. last save point you used or a checkpoint.
  56. - You have 27 slots for consumable items and key items, plus 5 additional
  57. slots reserved for certain special key items. Weapons and armor both get
  58. 12 slots each, with 4 additional slots reserved for certain gear. If you
  59. run out of space, you can't receive any new items until you make space.
  60. You can use the Whole Hole to discard something, but you can't sell items.
  61. Items stack up to 9.
  62. - Healing items can be used in the menu or equipped, in which case you can
  63. use one on the field by pressing the Item button. The healing items are:
  64.
  65. Fushigi na Kyuukon | 20 HP Dokukeshi | Poison
  66. Kiseki no Kyuukon | 70 HP Hoshitsuyusou | Curse
  67. Shinpi no Kyuukon | 150 HP Kessei | Deadly Poison
  68. Seisui | Death Sentence (+ 10 HP)
  69. Kusa no Medal (M) | 100% HP Kaze no Medal (M)| All
  70.
  71. - Status ailments:
  72. Poison | Lose 1/16 cHP (1/32 mHP minimum) constantly when moving
  73. Deadly Poison | Lose 1/16 cHP (1/32 mHP minimum) constantly
  74. Confusion | Directional input is randomized
  75. Curse | Unable to act or move every now and then
  76. Death Sentence | Die after a 20s countdown
  77. Stun/Burn/Freeze| Unable to act or move
  78. Str Down | Str is halved for 10s
  79. Con Down | Con is halved for 10s
  80.
  81. - Gems dropped by enemies disappear after 5,5s.
  82. - The prices of equipment and spells may vary depending on the location.
  83. - There are many dialog choices throughout the game, but unless otherwise
  84. specified, the one you need to choose is the first one.
  85. - Some of the towns in the game can be developed with the player's help,
  86. although this is completely optional. Note that a town can't move to the
  87. next stage if it's the last place you've saved at.
  88. - You can pause the game with Start. The play time counter (which is only
  89. visible in the save file screen) halts during this.
  90. - Regrettably, the game's soundtrack was never released.

  137. - When you start a new game, you'll have the chance to name the main
  138. character (default: Ark).
  139. - You can save your game by examining journals such as the one found on
  140. your desk.
  141. - You have to examine doors to open them.
  142. - Go talk to the elder, then go to the building north. Talk to the woman
  143. opposite Elle and choose the first option. Return to the first building.
  144. Open the blue door by throwing some pots at it.
  145. - Once you've opened the box, Yomi will give you a tour of the menu
  146. screens. Once in control, go to the weapon menu and examine the glint.
  147. - I strongly suggest you tweak the settings. I use Gauge Type B and the
  148. following controls:
  149. Y - Attack / Confirm
  150. B - Jump / Cancel
  151. R - Dash
  152. A - Item
  153. X - Guard
  154. L - Examine / Confirm (fixed)
  155.
  156. - In order to use magic, you need to either equip the Mahou no Housekibako
  157. or cast them through the jewelry box in the Center menu.
  158. - You don't have to keep holding down the Dash button to run.
  159. - Go talk to the elder at the entrance. After that, you can open the two
  160. chests (examine them twice) and go outside the village. Don't forget to
  161. actually equip your weapon and armor.
  162. - The Crystal no Yari gives you regeneration that heals 1 HP every 4,2s.
  163. The regeneration will be lost after Chapter 1, however.
  164. - Don't bother with the Rokkakubou. It's only 1 point higher and doesn't
  165. have regeneration.
  166. × The Rokkakubou is unique in the sense that, while you can buy as many
  167. as you want, you can't have more than one of them at a time; if you
  168. already have one, it won't show up in the shop menu.

  178. - Note that you can change the Gauge Type by using L and the Guard button
  179. while the game is paused.
  180. - On the third floor, you'll need to go out through one of the windows,
  181. so you can climb up to the fourth floor.
  182. - The third floor is a great place to level up.
  183. - On the fifth floor, you'll fight 4 Red Huballs. Afterwards, you'll

  206. In areas with multiple levels, you may instead fall down to a lower level,
  207. in which case no damage is incurred.
  208. - Don't miss the Prime Blue on B1F.
  209. - You can reach the first chest by simply going through the wall.

  224. - You have to jump down from one of four holes on B1. Take any other one
  225. besides the southeast one to get most of the items first.
  226. - The Inochi no Kusuri increases your max HP by 5. There are 11 of these
  227. in the game. The other stat boost items give you a +1 increase. There
  228. are four of those each.
  229. - On the third floor, you'll fight a bunch of Hueballs, then resurrect
