Jonathan plays a game called Gotcha in which he hunts and is hunted by other students with paint guns. After a big win, he goes off for a vacation in France where he meets the sexy Sasha who says she is only interested in him because he is a virgin. She takes him with her to East Germany where they are separated and he has to escape back to the west on his own, all the while being trailed by East German spies. He arrives home only to find the game is still going on, and a canister of film is in his backpack. Then Sasha re-appears.
This is superb. There is nothing else to say about it. You know the premise and I&#39;m not about to reveal anymore. Is it somewhat silly? Yes - but aren&#39;t they all in this genre? But does it have a good story line and good characters? Does it ever.<br/><br/>I don&#39;t think Linda Fiorentino ever looked (or acted) better. This is a romp - and it&#39;s filmed across half the world, and it isn&#39;t only the second unit that gets to travel, unless there&#39;s been some very clever scheduling going on.<br/><br/>This one is a total keeper. Edwards is simply good, Fiorentino is convincing - just don&#39;t expect a Picasso. This isn&#39;t big like that - but it&#39;s bound to cheer you up on an otherwise easy afternoon.<br/><br/>Oh - Alex Rocco and Marla Adams are great as the parents. This is not supposed to be a belly laugh movie, but that just shows what depth and breadth it has. You may not like it - we sure did.
i was up late one night when i see an 80&#39;s movie coming on that i have not seen before ( i know it was 80&#39;s just by the music). i checked the synopsis on my cable box, it looked good, so i watched. <br/><br/>i thought it was great! he may be a kid with rich parents that pay for everything for him, but thats OK. most parents are like that anyways, just not with as much money. of course, while &quot;seeing the sites&quot; on the all expenses paid vacation courtesy of his parents, he runs into the European girl of his dreams. now, he&#39;s a college guy who&#39;s whole testosterone lifestyle revolves around getting busy in bed... and he succeeds! who cares that he went to east Berlin to keep getting some, its a movie and half the adventure was him trying to get back across. by the end, it all comes back to the campus where the bad guys are now in &quot;his neighborhood&quot; and he cleans them up with a tranquilizer gun (which is pretty sick by the way... i mean, i would totally take one of those over a 9 mil..). anyways...<br/><br/>this movie was made before i was born, but i think its just another great 80&#39;s &quot;brat pack&quot;-style movie that should go down with the best of them.
Gotcha is about as devoid of personality as it's possible for a narrative movie to be.
