- Patch 1.2.1.8
- 10-20-2021
- Ah, it's that time of the month again. Balancing patches are always a good time, shaking up the metagame and such. This should breathe some life back into strategies that aren't solo-Lucario-top-plus-four. Well, fingers crossed, at least. Thanks goes to Icarus Twine and his Gamerescape scraping for some of the values below.
- Pikachu:
- Pikachu's been starving for love. These changes aren't huge, but will definitely help with their pitiful midgame.
- Thunder:
- Ratio: 18% -> 20%
- Base: 180 -> 210
- Volt Tackle:
- Ratio: 9% -> 13%
- Per Level: 2 -> 3
- Base: 90 -> 130
- Slowbro:
- Slowbro already sees some meta play, but his Amnesia set sees very little of it. This could bring back Bruiser Slowbro if the values feel right. This looks like an incredible amount of healing.
- Amnesia:
- Cooldown: 13s -> 9s
- Oblivious Healing: 12.5%x3 -> 22.5%x3
- Gengar:
- Gengar's been garbage for a few patches now, and his squish was definitely a contributing factor in that. Healing for an eighth of all the damage he does might not be enough, but I see him being more relevant.
- Stats:
- Spell Vamp (NEW): 12.5% at Level 5
- Blastoise:
- Blastoise just took a beating, losing a lot of damage out of his kit. This should give a bit more breathing room for other defenders to start filling in his void.
- Hydro Pump:
- Base Damage:
- Ratio: 53% -> 47.5%
- Per Level: 9 -> 8
- Base: 330 -> 310
- Under Rapid Spin:
- Ratio: 106% -> 95%
- Base: 660 -> 620
- Hydro Pump+:
- Base Damage:
- Ratio: 63% -> 57%
- Per Level: 10 -> 9
- Base: 400 -> 370
- Under Rapid Spin:
- Ratio: 126% -> 114%
- Base: 800 -> 740
- Water Spout:
- Cooldown: 9s -> 7.5s
- Unite Move:
- Ratio: 273% -> 218%
- Per Level: 36 -> 27
- Base: 1740 -> 1390
- Venusaur:
- Venusaur needed some nerfs, he was insanely strong. These nerfs seem really tiny in scale; but last time Venusaur got changes, we mispredicted Venusaur's place in the meta, so who really knows.
- Giga Drain:
- Damage resistance: 40% -> 35%
- Healing:
- Ratio: 27.5% -> 27%
- Per Level: 8 -> 7
- Base: 200 -> 180
- Giga Drain+:
- Damage resistance: 40% -> 35%
- Healing:
- Ratio: 33% -> 30%
- Per Level: 9 -> 8
- Base: 240 -> 210
- Solar Beam:
- Max HP Tick: 1% Enemy Max HP -> 1.5%
- Lucario:
- Lucario just took a minor blow. PuP is a sideways change and not an outright nerf. In fact, if you run X Attack, it's actually a buff. Otherwise these changes are mostly soft, but they might rattle Lucario's place on the throne a bit.
- Stats:
- Attack:
- 165/175/186/198/211/225/241/258/277/298/321/347/375/406/440
- to
- 160/170/180/192/205/219/234//251/270/291/314/339/366/396/429
- Steadfast:
- Cooldown: 30s -> 60s
- Power-Up Punch (NEW):
- NOTES: The move no longer increases attack, and instead changes its ratio to full charge. This is a functional change, and the details are explained more thoroughly below.
- ACTUAL CHANGE (Max Charge):
- Ratio: 150% -> 451.95%
- Base: 190 -> 189
- FUNCTIONAL CHANGE (Max Charge):
- Ratio: 450% -> 451.95%
- Base: 190 -> 189
- Garchomp:
- Garchomp buffs! This time, they seem significant. Will he break from the hellhole that is bottom tier? Only time will tell.
- Stats:
- Attack Speed: 110%~124% -> 111%~147%
- Dragon Rush:
- Ratio: 74% -> 121%
- Per Level: 3 -> 8
- Base: 140 -> 200
- Zeraora:
- Wild Charge:
- Fixed a bug that caused the move to deal high damage when hitting many Pokemon (upgraded version)
- Cramorant:
- Dive:
- Fixed a bug that caused Cramorant's model to glitch after reappearing from diving
- Talonflame:
- Fixed a bug that caused Gale Wings to not activate on respawn
- Remoat Stadium:
- Most of the details here are a tad difficult to quantify. Details will be filled in accordingly, as they're discovered.
- Changes:
- Zapdos drops less energy when KO'd. (20 -> 15)
- Drednaw gives less shields when KO'd. (Down to 8% MaxHP)
- Drednaw gives less EXP when KO'd. (880 -> 660)
- Rotom now hacks enemy goals for a longer period of time. (15s -> 25s)
- Rotom's movement speed, Attack and HP stat gain a significant boost when it starts heading for a goal.
