Seriously. I downvoted immediately after this, because an article that lacks the grasp of basic concepts it's supposed to be about just kills any suspension of disbelief. The foundation is staffed by scientists, for Bastet's sake.

    All SCP-1550 bulbs are to be stored fully submerged in non-conducting material inside a non-conducting container surrounded by a Faraday cage. The containment apparatus must be stored in a dedicated storage room with unreinforced concrete walls, floor, and ceiling. The room must be located at least 20 meters below ground. Okay. We put them in polystyrene foam so they don't break, and put them in a Faraday's cage - for example, a shut metal box, so that no matter what, there can't be a voltage applied to them.

Since you haven't told us much about its activation , let's assume that once you exceed activation energy, it does, and let's assume that static electricity can cause sufficient charge buildup.

    .SCP-1550 is an unknown number of what appear to be ordinary incandescent light bulbs. Three bulbs have been recovered by the Foundation as of this writing but an accurate estimate of the total number of SCP-1550 bulbs has proven unattainable. Proactive detection and recovery has thus far been impeded by the bulbs' apparent indistinguishability from ordinary bulbs and random occurence througouht at least three different geographic areas, brands, form factors, and wattages. All living witnesses of previous SCP-1550 events reported that the bulbs exhibited no unusual properies prior to activation. Limited testing on recovered bulbs has confirmed this obvservation. For these reasons it has been determined that tracking and recovery attempts of any additional bulbs prior to activation are not likley to yield success and should not be pursued.

    In all presently known SCP-1550 events the pertinent bulbs were purchased in convenience or hardware stores interspersed with standard bulbs in their normal packaging. In each instance recovery and testing of all other bulbs from the same unit, lot, and shipment has yielded no unusual findings. It has not been determined how SCP-1550 bulbs enter the supply chain. Analysis of manufacturers' records and operating procedures has suggested that contamination occurs at the earliest after quality control and packaging at the factories, as this process involves all bulbs being activated to verify functionality.

Think of it from an IC perspective - if someone is looking at the documentation, the most important things are A) how do we contain it and B) what does it do.

    SCP-1550 bulbs activate immediately upon the application of appropriate electrical current, as when turned on after installation in a light fixture. SCP-1550 events comprise a bulb's emission of a spectra of electromagnetic radiation exactly equivalent to the wave function of the pure energy anti-representation of all matter and energy within a roughly 14.02 meter spherical radius of the bulb's center of mass at the instant of activation. Destruction arising from the anihalation is total, with the sole exception of the bulb itself which is left unproturbed. Measurements collected from lab testing have indicated that voids left by SCP-1550 events are, at the instant of the event, "impossible vacuums" totally devoid of all energy.

This effect is really, really boring. It's also very unbelievable. Scratch that ,this is less comprehensible than Star Trek technobabble.
For one, if everything is destroyed around, I'd expect the bulb to fall out of its "anihalated" socket, and break… also, if that thing is true, then air would rush into the radius, get annihilated.. .the thing would , really quickly , evacuate the room it's mounted in, asides from structural damage.

    It is not presently known how SCP-1550 bulbs operate. Furthur testing and analysis is ongoing.
