BACKGROUND: Li Mei Xiao was born in Guangzhou, China on February 1, 1997. She was the only child born to her parents, Li Shuai and Zhang Xiening. When she was 3, she and her family moved to Edmonton, where she adopted the English name Miranda. Miranda was first truly exposed to music when she was 4. She began learning to sing by watching singing videos on TV and online. When she was 6, she began taking singing lessons. Her talent and skill grew as she continued to practice. After a while, she decided she wanted to become a singer professionally in the future. She discovered Kpop when she was 10, and it seemed like something that would be really up her alley. She auditioned for a couple companies (namely SM, JYP, YG, Cube, FNC and Starship), but was not picked for any of them. Just when she was beginning to think maybe she wasn't cut out for it, an incredible twist of fate came when she heard about Pinky Ent. She decided to give this entertainment company a shot in what she thought could be her last chance. Luckily for her, Pinky Ent. saw her potential and picked her for the group.
