John Smith tries his best to play the nondescript high school senior who's just moved to a small mid-Western town in Ohio with his single-parent dad, Henri, but maturity ushers in the onset of extraordinary powers that are John's birthright as one of the very few individuals who escaped the genocidal rampage of the Mogadorians, an alien race that destroyed the inhabitants of Lorien, the planet where John was born. A total of eight infants escaped to Earth, each accompanied by a warrior to serve as their guardian and protector. The Mogadorians' quest to destroy the last of the Loriens has led them to Earth. Three of their targets have already been eliminated. It becomes John's task to find and join with the remaining members of his race before he becomes victim number four.
Aliens and their Guardians are hiding on Earth from intergalactic bounty hunters. They can only be killed in numerical order, and Number Four is next on the list. This is his story.
I may be against the general public on this one, but I actually thought the movie was really good. The film, itself, could be better but the storyline, the characters and the fighting scenes sets itself up nicely for a sequel.<br/><br/>Sure, there were some parts of the movie which you felt needed a bit more depth, but the overall movie didn&#39;t suck at all. The intense action sequences were really good; nothing that you wouldn&#39;t expect from Michael Bay&#39;s involvement.<br/><br/>Whether you like this movie or not, it really is down to preference. I absolutely loath Twilight and any other romantically-obsessive movie and this may be similar in some parts, but the outcome is just far better.
That was better than I was expecting especially since I&#39;m not in the target age group. It has a &#39;Twilight&#39;-ish feel to it with typical teenage angst, high-school issues and some light romance, but on the other side its also a pretty cool sci-fi flick with great special effects and some interesting/unique bad guys.<br/><br/>It follows &quot;John Smith&quot; who is from another planet, (literally). He&#39;s masquerading as a typical teen and with the help of his (fairly useless) guardian has been on the run his entire life, trying to stay one step ahead of the intergalactic bounty hunters sent to kill his kind. They are being taken out in numerical order, and John is Number Four. <br/><br/>The final battle scene is kinda epic and the chick playing #6 really kicks ass. I loved the dog/lizard creature and the ending is also very good while being left open for sequels -of course. I remember this book being super popular. 12/29/13
