  5.
  6. Mike had over the years been training up his various energies. Using them conjunction to further his suppressed powers while the eye continued to feed off of him. His shadows having become more stable and less unwieldy thanks to the effects of the growing eye but it had lost a lot of it's bite do it.
  7.
  8. His Psychic training had helped a lot with visualizing the shadows as well as going as far as to be able to form a mental barrier over his arms that the shadows formed over. Keeping his arms and body safe from it's continuous consumption.
  9. His arcane knowledge having allowed him to draw upon his power more easily, pulling from the plane of shadows which seemed to be where his power came from. Though this had brought up questions of why and how these powers had developed in him. His only answer having been the marks he bared.
  10.
  11. His years of studying the mark still had only returned minimum results but he'd grown to understand they pushed his growth factor. And seemed to respond to his shadows. When his hands were covered he felt the palms tingle where the marks were. It'd always made him wonder just what was going on.
  12.
  13. His training for the oncoming war had however brought him to a curious question that had always lingered in the back of his mind. But he'd been to unsure, even scared to give the thought anything more then just a passing dismissal.
  14.
  15. The thought of letting the shadows cover his whole body, something he'd never done as the shadow's seemed to consume everything, himself included. But his curiosity was still there, nagging him to try it. The furthest he'd allowed them ever go had been his shoulders, but perhaps it was time to try. With his control over the various energies he now had he felt perhaps if things went wrong and he wasn't able to turn his shadow's off he'd at least be able to form a barrier between him and them.
  16.
  17. He'd moved to get everything prepped and settled. Feeling best to do it on a remote island away from anything and anyone as he didn't want things to get out of hand if he messed up. Hoping that at worst the shadows might just consume the island if he died or lost control. His nerves were on edge. But he knew he had to have this burning curiosity sated.
  18.
  19. He took a deep breath before closing his eyes. Focusing on the shadows, he felt the familiar pain of them crawling up his arms and towards his shoulders. His anxiety raising rapidly as his chest and neck were covered. Pain running through him as the rest of his body was engulfed in shadows. The pain intense but it lasted only for a second. The marks on his throat and hands starting glow purple through the shadows.
  20.
  21. He opened his eyes looking over the ground. Where he stood was now grey and ashy as his shadows consumed the area he stood. He was a bit worried and tried to retract the shadows from spreading away from him. The marks on him glowed a bit brighter as the shadows seemed to. . Listen to him. This was the first time since discovering this power that he had actually controlled them. Slowly standing up he looked over his hands and felt over his throat curious as to how this was possible.
  22.
  23. The pillar flashed through his mind. Slowly turning towards the direction of the monolith he tried to have the shadows retreat back and vanish but he found he couldn't turn them off. This development caused him to worry. Even trying to form a barrier under the shadow's proved to be fruitless. He walked towards the edge of the island to look down over himself in the reflection of the water.
  24.
  25. Looking back at him was a being of complete shadows. Wisps of shadows flowing from him. His eyes glowing slightly, the same color they had been, prior to before the shift. “No. . .No come on I don't want to look like this” He said nervously trying anything to have them recede or vanish off his form.
  26.
  27. Though he'd noticed an odd feeling forming in his gut. His will over the shadows seeming to push them to retreat. He looked at his reflection as the shadows seemed to slowly run down his face. He felt the shadows begin flowing into him. Literally into him, into his eyes, ears, mouth, into his body. It was painful to say the lease but within moments the shadows were gone, but he could feel them just under the surface. They were more like a part of his very being now. Whatever the truly meant he wasn't sure.
  28.
  29. He felt a bit unsure if he should of done this or not. But now as he sat there wisps of shadow's seeped from his finger tips , seemingly not harming him or the area around him, just there, reminding him of what lurked just under the surface. “I. . . Don't understand” he muttered quietly to himself.
