  1. Disappointedly, he shakes his head.
  2.
  3. "Mom says no."
  4.
  5. He was still fairly saddened that they didn't trust him enough to leave home yet. Although he does understand, he's going to miss his family if he does end up leaving. When asked about how much he has learned since their last meeting. Quickly, he would pull out the same vile he was playing with just a few seconds ago.
  6.
  7. The popping sound of a cork being removed would pop as he would slowly wave his fingers around the mouth of the glass vile. Swiftly and gracefully, he would pull his hand back as the water would quickly follow suit, drifting a mere few inches from his fingertips, mimicking the trail that he drew.
  8.
  9. "My mom taught me a bit of this thing with water."
  10.
  11. Enthusiastically speaking as he continues to wave his hand around, the water following suit.
  12. (Rowan)
  13. Perhaps sneaking him ou was a good optio if he ever wanted to truly leave with the boy for whatever reasons -- Zephyr stares briefly as he frowns at the answer, though. He couldn't do much about that, at least right now, he couldn't. His friend was trapped in the Bygone, and there was not much that he could do.
  14.
  15. "Ooh, water magic!" He exclaims. He was trying to get better control over his water magic, and, perhaps, Rowan could help him... Purple eyes stare somewhat greedily before he asks nicely!
  16.
  17. "Could help do the water magic?" He questions-- hopefully, he didn't remember that the Sarradian was very much capable of it.. Of course, the boy was a water mage but he was barely capable of controlling it...
  18. (Zephyr)
  19. His eyes following the ribbon like stream of water he playfully dragged around as he listened to Zephyr. He only saw it fair to teach him since he taught him how to do those cool tricks with the seeds a few months back. Pulling up his shorts in a childish manner, he would smile as he prepares to teach the sarradian what he knows.
  20.
  21. . . .
  22.
  23. How did he exactly learn this? The thought never really came detailed into his mind. His pointer finger tapping his chin as his irises rise to look up, making him look as if he were thinking intently. In reality, he was fairly unsure himself, mostly remembering his mother guiding his hands, asking him to think out the water's ripples as they swayed when she moved his hand. Being the imaginative kid he was, it was fairly easy to imagine, thus he easily picked it up.
  24.
  25. "Well, uh. . . Hm. . ."
  26.
  27. He continues to think as he tries to find a semblance on how to teach it.
  28.
  29. "Well, mom took my hand when we were by the pond before, then she asked me to imagine the water moved in my mind. It took me a few tries but I eventually got it."
  30.
  31. He'd say as he ended his influence to the water as he returns it to the vile, corking it closed.
  32. (Rowan)
  33. Zephyr is one to listen closely to the words of the half-spriggan-- as he attempts to teach, it almost seems like there's not much that he knows how to. At the same time ... Well, Zephyr knew what he meant-- trying to teach Caerus was the most difficult thing he'd ever done with lightning magic. But it almost seemed to work.
  34.
  35. However, Rowan's words don't seem to be helping that much-- in fact, when he'd tried this with Camus, he almost drowned the garden... Eyes blink before he ponders on what to do.
  36.
  37. "... How does water make feel? How should feel when does water magic?" He questions-- he knew that elements were linked to emotions, that was for sure.
  38. (Zephyr)
  39. "Weeeelll. . ."
  40.
  41. His tapping of the chin continues as he continues to remember the exact words his mother gave when she taught him that day. By now it was fairly a mere blurry memory for him, but a few words and key points do seem to be retained in his mind.
  42.
  43. "Well, my mom told me you should be like the water you want to control. Like we were by the lake when she taught me and she told me 'be calm like the water of the lake for soft movements and I think she said think of strong water like the big ocean thingies when you want to make strong water."
  44.
  45. It was fairly confusing since his memory showed to be a bit clunky, but hopefully he got the gist in there.
  46. (Rowan)
  47. Zephyr listens to the boy as he tries to explain it as best as he can, and it seemed to... Well, make sense to him almost -- when he was trying to use his magic like lighting, he knew he had to feel in control of it -- calculated and shockingly powerful.
  48.
  49. So he had to try and be like the water. But what did that mean..?
  50.
  51. To be like the water, he'd have to be calm like it? He could never try being calm in a fight, that's what didn't make sense to him.
  52.
  53. "... Hmm, am going to try." He says aloud-- hands are held out as the water he wants to summon is formed.
  54.
  55. Like that, he attempts to pick it apart-- but there almost seems to be a sort of scowl on his face that Rowan would notice... Zephyr was having difficulty being the water.
  56.
  57. Perhaps the half-spriggan could try to help...
  58. (Zephyr)
  59. "Here."
  60.
  61. He would approach him as he takes out the same vile of water out (For the third time) as he holds it right in-front of Zephyr.
  62.
  63. "It's hard to make water, so mom had be play with water we brought first."
  64.
  65. He himself still finds it a challenge to summon his own water from the air's humidity. Mostly because he didn't understand that the air was humid at this age. Maybe he can give the boy a better analogy? He would do it indeed, although he wouldn't know it was actually called an analogy.
  66.
  67. "Okay. Don't do it too fast. Just try to think that you're holding one of those. . ."
  68.
  69. The word escapes him as he pretends to tie a knot with his hand as a sign that he knew what it was, just the name wasn't popping up when it should. It takes him a second to remember.
  70.
  71. "Ribbons! You know, like you're waving them like this."
  72.
  73. He would then do the same thing he was doing a while ago as he moved the water around, except this time it was just his hand moving without the water.
  74.
  75. "Just think of a blue ribbon. Then when you're ready, think that the blue ribbon is water!"
  76. (Rowan)
  77. As a vial of water is handed to Zephyr, the water he'd tried to summon dissipates away -- into the air again, or something like that as he stares at it... This was water, something that he knew how to control, yet, it didn't seem to want to work with him all of the time. The water was rarely his friend whenever he was in control.
  78.
  79. It was truly the fact that he wasn't letting it flow -- he wasn't directing a flow of it just like he wasn't with the wind, and was insted simply forcing it in a direction that didn't work very well.
  80.
  81. Cognitive magic would be a lot easier for him... But instead, he attempts to do this once more. Eyes close. A hand is held at the top of the vial as he pops it open, acting as a lid of sorts. In truth, he was trying to channel it.
  82.
  83. "... Ah, is difficult. Cannot make the water stay where should. Water likes to go everywhere when tries, but am going to try again." He says -- hopefully, the boy would eventually suggest something like 'try letting it flow..!!" or something, who knows.
  84.
  85. His hand draws back, as if dragging a ribbon or something that the boy was suggesting. The water begins to follow suit, and even then -- it acts like a violent river being forced down a new path-- constantly trying to drown whatever was forcing it to go somewhere, overflowing as if a dam surrounded it...
  86.
  87. Zephyr was having difficulties with his magic, and the difficulty was definitely himself.
  88. (Zephyr)
  89. He wanted to give him points as he seems to get the hang of it, yet he wanted to do it as little as possible to allow more focus and to not give any form of loss of calmness. A distinct memory reminds him of a chance to relax. He whispers to him softly as the sarradian continues to move the water shakily.
  90.
  91. "Hey, remember how you said you were a garden? Just think of your garden, then think of the water splashing on the plants like when you water them."
  92.
  93. He's helped his mother water the plants many times before, he was fairly familiar with such relaxing thoughts. Hopefully he hit the right chords for Zephyr to become even calmer.
  94.
  95. "Let the water flow. Don't force it, just make it move like it's supposed to."
  96.
  97. He was beginning to sound like his mom, which made him fairly proud of himself. He should do this more often.
  98. (Rowan)
  99. Ah, how difficult this all was for him -- maniplating water, yet... Trying to do it right. He didn't really understand it until Rowan began to try and calm the slowly frustrated-growing boy down. He was doing it wrong -- He was controlling the water, when it was supposed to flow like ...
  100.
  101. ... Well, water.
  102.
  103. Water wasn't something that should be viciously controlled and perfected, and it seemed that the Sarradian was doing just about everything that he could to reach that point. But perhaps it would be best to simply let it flow -- let it flow, let it flow, can't hold it back anymore, let it flow, let it flow, -- ok im going to stop now
  104.
  105. "... Oh, am see--" With that, it almost seems to click..! He was trying to control something like he did with lightning magic, but... He was doing it very wrong-- it shouldn't be manipulated like lightning magic!
  106.
  107. It should be manipulated like water, and that was the fault. The Sarradian closes his eyes as the water in the vial is attempted to be manipulated once more. No more are two fingers trying to guide it -- acting like it was something extremely dangerous and something that had to be held onto close to ensure safety.
  108.
  109. Instead, the movements he makes are more... How would one say? Fluid? They almost seem to flow like the water.. Zephyr himself has closed eyes -- a straight face as he focusses the best that he can.
  110.
  111. He'd done it..!
  112. (Zephyr)
  113. His eyes would glimmer with awe as his friend would finally control the water pretty well. It really was like when he himself first learned how to control water. But now he had the chance to see it process from the other side of things, as the teacher instead of the student. He can finally brag to mom about this, hah!
  114.
  115. He would gladly yell out in joy for this, yet he stops just as he was about to scream. Quickly putting his hand to his mouth, he would shut it as he almost forgot that water magic needed immense focus and calmness, especially since Zephyr was having a hard time the first few times.
  116.
  117. Instead he would simply take the hand he used to block his mouth, wipe the spit that stuck to it on his shorts, take a quick sniff of it for curiosity's sake, and just idle there, watching the sarradian do an immensely good job at controlling water.
  118. (Rowan)
  119. The boy continues to try and manipulate the water, creating a ring of it around his body -- the air around collecting more water.. The ring this time, instead of usually, is pleasant -- it does not splash at him or do anything of that sort!
  120.
  121. It was finally calm -- like him. He understood it now, and hopefully he'd make the same realization about wind, but for now, that was probably really unlikely. Eyes open to stare at Rowan for a few moments!
  122.
  123. "... Okay, am did it..! Did it -- did it so good, Rowan!! Thank you!" He exclaims. "Am figured it out. Just have to flow like the water and let water flow. Right?" He says -- as though Rowan had all of the answers..
  124.
  125. "Oh, here is water back." He says-- the water is deposited into the vial, eventually, and given back....
  126.
  127. Kya!
  128. (Zephyr)
