  1. [23:20] Salthiel just exhaled in pain.
  2. (Salthiel)
  3. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  4.
  5. [23:20] Salthiel says, "I'm not..."
  6. [23:24] Salthiel says, "Hmmmmmmm."
  7. [23:24] Xian Yinping says, "You have gotten quite strong."
  8. [23:24] Salthiel says, "Not enough."
  9. [23:25] Salthiel says, "Let's do a last one."
  10. [23:25] Xian Yinping says, "Though do undertand."
  11. [23:25] Salthiel says, "I think I know what to do now."
  12. [23:25] Bai Long exclaims, "You're doing great Sal!"
  13. [23:25] Xian Yinping says, "Ah."
  14. [23:25] Xian Yinping says, "Only way we will find out is to try."
  15. [23:25] Salthiel says, "If this is great, then I'm damned to die in a battlefield..."
  16. [23:27] Salthiel says, "Ah...damn it."
  17. [23:27] Salthiel asks, "I'm getting predictable, aren't I?"
  18. [23:27] Salthiel says, "No. I'm way too predictable."
  19. [23:27] Xian Yinping says, "You are my friend."
  20. [23:27] Salthiel says, "A friend you'll see dead."
  21. [23:27] Xian Yinping says, "However."
  22. [23:27] Xian Yinping says, "You are quite experienced for your age."
  23. [23:28] Salthiel says, "It doesn't matter."
  24. [23:28] Salthiel says, "I'll die like the rest if I don't keep up."
  25. [23:28] Xian Yinping says, "I would love to show you more about predicting others."
  26. [23:28] Xian Yinping says, "And Salthiel...."
  27. [23:29] Xian Yinping says, "Do not let the fear of the unknown take fear of you."
  28. [23:29] Salthiel says, "I have no fear, you know that, Lady Xian."
  29. [23:29] Xian Yinping says, "Mmm."
  30. [23:29] Salthiel says, "I only need fear to murder our enemies."
  31. [23:29] Salthiel says, "To feed on their blood."
  32. [23:29] Salthiel says, "To make them kneel."
  33. [23:29] Xian Yinping says, "........."
  34. [23:29] Salthiel exclaims, "To make them feel DESPAIR!"
  35. [23:30] Xian Yinping asks, "Is that what you truly desire?"
  36. [23:30] Salthiel says, "And I need to be not as pathetic as I can be..."
  37. [23:30] Xian Yinping asks, "The blood of others?"
  38. [23:30] Salthiel says, "Desire? For vengeance and justice? Yes. If I should turn into a monster like they, then I will be one."
  39. [23:30] Xian Yinping asks, "What about those around you?"
  40. [23:30] Xian Yinping asks, "Those who live in fear?"
  41. [23:30] Salthiel says, "They are who I'm fighting for."
  42. [23:30] Xian Yinping says, "Mmm."
  43. [23:31] Salthiel says, "Their sufferings. I do not wish to mend them."
  44. [23:31] Xian Yinping says, "Sounded like you wanted to feed your pride there my friend."
  45. [23:31] Salthiel says, "No... What they felt, what they suffered. I want those who did them to feel them just the same."
  46. [23:31] Xian Yinping says, "Though I understand that."
  47. [23:31] Salthiel says, "But a thousand more painful. "
  48. [23:32] Xian Yinping says, "Hatred is NOT strategy."
  49. [23:32] Xian Yinping says, "Especially if you fear dying while using it."
  50. [23:32] Salthiel says, "It is not a strategy, Lady Xian. It is what I'll inflict upon them."
  51. [23:32] Xian Yinping says, "Interesting."
  52. [23:33] Salthiel says, "And I have no fear of death. What I fear is lacking the power to inflict pain."
  53. [23:33] Xian Yinping says, "......"
  54. [23:33] Salthiel says, "I fear the lack of power to enact fear."
  55. [23:33] Salthiel says, "To make those who suffered us and our ancestors."
  56. [23:33] Xian Yinping says, "I do pray for you salthiel."
  57. [23:33] Xian Yinping says, "What you hope for is not justice."
  58. [23:33] Xian Yinping says, "Its vengeance."
  59. [23:33] Salthiel says, "It IS JUSTICE."
  60. [23:33] Salthiel is obviously trying to defend his thoughts. Though he knew he was wrong.
  61. (Salthiel)
  62. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  63.
  64. [23:33] Salthiel says, "Vengeance is only but a form of my justice."
  65. [23:34] Salthiel says, "Do you think I would hurt those around me? No. I would hurt those who hurt eye. An eye for an eye."
  66. [23:34] Salthiel asks, "What is so WRONG with that, Lady Xian?"
  67. [23:34] Salthiel says, "NONE."
  68. [23:34] Xian would silently shake her head as she would slowly sigh. She would then look at him hoping he was not serious.
  69.
  70. "By saying that, you in turn justify the act of others who rely on Vengeance."
  71. (Xian Yinping)
  72. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  73.
  74. [23:35] Xian Yinping says, "If you may use pride and vengeance."
  75. [23:35] Xian Yinping says, "Then don't let it AIL you."
  76. [23:39] The youth looked at the Yinping, eyes glowing as he cried tears of blood, like a waterfall off his cheeks.
  77.
  78. His voice cried of mourning and loss as he lifted his staff once more.
  79.
  80. "Everyone's so kind and merciful to others. Even towards their enemies. They're bound by honor and code. It tires me.
  81.
  82. Enemies are to be destroyed. Enemies are made to suffer. The blood they drew must be returned with blood.
  83.
  84. And thus, blood will drown Agartha, and the heavens will weep.
  85.
  86. If the darkness and evil terrorize the innocent, weak and the good. Then I shall do the same to them," echoed the youth's voice as he prepared to fight once more.
  87. (Salthiel)
  88. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  89.
  90. [23:47] Xian would sigh, as she would look at the man before him. She would then close her eyes as she would not look at him at disgust. But more so pity than any other emotion. She understands that this is quite a young man. But she did not want the boy to slowly become swallowed in his pool of anger and vengeance.
  91.
  92. Xian would take a small breath as she would not even bother to try and refute the boys thinking. She already knew the happenings of the last person that she felt like she needed to peacefully convince.
  93.
  94. "And the Archon grinned, because his favorite sin is pride that tries to disguise itself as humility."
  95.
  96. Xian would slowly Disarm herself. She was done here, She did not want to help propel this boy to feed his murderous and selfish view of justice. As she would slowly remove the Weighted bracers from her body She would slowly walk towards the dojo exit.
  97. (Xian Yinping)
  98. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  99. [23:56] The youth gritted his teeth and gripped his fist so tight his nails stabbed through his palm.
  100.
  101. "Then go," he only said as he remained standing, stretching his neck up high.
  102.
  103. "If this is pride that you see, I won't convince you otherwise. If your justice is simply to defend and not to act, then I will not convince you otherwise. If being good is to smile at others and say words of sympathy and love, I won't convince you otherwise. And if you see death as only evil and not a subjective necessity, then I will not convince you otherwise.
  104.
  105. If you my struggle as both vanity and arrogance, then I won't convince you otherwise.
  106.
  107. And if you see my anger as a childish demeanor, then go, I will not convince you otherwise.
  108.
  109. If you see my want for strength as a nonsensical way to murder in jolly, then go, I will not convince you otherwise.
  110.
  111. And in return, I will not convince anyone otherwise.
  112.
  113. And if Huangzhou cast me an outcast, then I'd wait for them to end me before I fall to sin. A sin you may be afraid I'd fall into. A senseless thought that will never happen.
  114.
  115. I don't care anymore," he only said as the woman's footsteps echoed away. And with that, if not stopped, the teen would vanish into thin air.
  116. (Salthiel)
  117. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  118.
  119. [23:58] Xian would place a small sigh as she paused for just a moment.
  120.
  121. "Of all things you fear of being killed by. It definitely will not be your ability."
  122. (Xian Yinping)
  123. [00:02] Salthiel says, "Then let death claim me."
  124. [00:04] "To crave strength, feel anger, and desire to hurt those who make others suffer for sport-- nothing wrong with it, really."
  125.
  126. The words are murmured outwards, perhaps only loud enough for Salthiel to hear. Regardless, he'd stare in Xian's form as she exited the dojo all the while, before the pale gaze finally finds the younger ice magus.
  127.
  128. "Staying back, defending only gives them the idea of how weak a faction is-- how idle, and it only allows the terror to grow within the faction itself."
  129.
  130. A shrug, then, and slowly would his finger lift upwards, pressed against his own, curled bottom lip.
  131.
  132. "Though-- the difference between you causing suffering, and them is simply the fact that they... enjoy it. Stray away from that side, and don't do it for any personal satisfaction whatsoever... otherwise, you'll just prove her right, yeah? Most of the Huagzhou is passive, regardless... and idle."
  133. (Zeriel Heifang)
  134. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  135.
  136. [00:09] With Zeriel's words, the youth did not mistform away, only stepping aside as he calmed himself down.
  137.
  138. "Will it be wrong to enjoy their suffering as they have caused others? And if I should become apathetic as to not feel any personal satisfaction, then I will become one.
  139.
  140. I wish for my enemies to squirm with terror and fear. Myself the incarnation of what they do upon others. Myself being the living personification of the atrocious intent.
  141.
  142. If you fear I'm doing this for personal satisfaction, then do not. Again, my aim is to inflict upon them what they inflicted upon others. To return dread with dread. Return death with death. Return pain with pain."
  143. (Salthiel)
  144. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  145.
  146. [00:14] Sitting back on the bench, Bai was relaxing while overlooking the two people fighting in the arena. It wasn't the most impressive scene he had seen, but it was definitely slightly entertaining to say the least. Though seeing as it all was ending his eyes flicked to Salthiel and Zeriel.
  147.
  148. No words were spoken, Bai merely continued smiling at the two of them as they spoke about some rather serious matters, being a third party that was basically enjoying their conversation in some manner.
  149. (Bai Long)
  150. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  151.
  152. [00:17] "Let's... put it in a different way, then."
  153.
  154. There's a pause, and he'd tilt his head over to the side, lips curled ever so softly all the while-- into just a faint, thin smile. Amused, to say the least.
  155.
  156. "The only thing you should enjoy, is the fact that you'll be making world a better place-- that you're ridding it of filth that bring nothing to the table but suffering for those who don't deserve it. If the mere thought of killing another vampire makes you feels you-- if the thought of slitting a demon's throat makes you smile; for you know you've gotten rid of one less creature that only exists to soil Agartha, there's nothing wrong with that."
  157.
  158. There's a softer, smaller halt before he'd continue.
  159.
  160. "...but if the thought of watching a creature writhe makes you smile simply because you enjoy it-- or the temptation to press that blade in a little slower to prolong the suffering gives you personal satisfaction, then it's wrong. You're basically doing what they're doing in that case-- hunting and terrorizing for sport, except sport helps making the world a better place, and is loosely justified... but sooner or later, bloodlust and hunger might just consume you, no matter how much you want it to not do so, and that's a bad thing. Self-control is the key."
  161.
  162. Ah, well.
  163.
  164. "As long as you can keep it from seeping into you-- and stop it from becoming something... personal-- a personal craving, it should be okay. Remember, you're doing this to cleanse Agartha first and foremost, not to satisfy any desire. One less evil is one less evil, regardless of whether he receives a quick death, or a prolonged one."
  165. (Zeriel Heifang)
  166. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  167. [00:25] "Then tell me," said the youth as he closed his eyes, heaving a light sigh.
  168.
  169. "If the thought of watching a creature writhe makes me smile, not because I'll be making the world a better place, but, because I feel satisfaction that I'm making it feel what it does to others. Because I think that it deserves it. Is that wrong?
  170.
  171. If I hunt them and terrorize them due to the same reason, not because of some self-imposed bloodlust and hunger, is that wrong?" he asked, glancing to the Heifang.
  172. (Salthiel)
  173. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  174.
  175. [00:33] "It's more justified,"
  176.
  177. The words come mumbled this time around, and he'd idly glance over to the side-- eyes do narrow, almost thoughtful in the moment there.
  178.
  179. "...doesn't make it particularly good-- not because doing so is completely wrong, it's just... more times than not, it ends up consuming you. There's a very, very fine line between desire to return the suffering, and the desire to cause the suffering... and you won't even be able to tell when you cross it. You can say you have self-control... but everyone overestimates them in one way or another, and sometimes it's too late before they realize."
  180.
  181. Ah...
  182.
  183. "I'm not saying it'll get to you for sure, I'm just saying that it can-- and that's a pointless risk. You said you can be apathetic if you need to be, then try to do so more often-- keep it in control as much as possible. Other than that, it's just yourself-- and how far you'll take those ideals. Just remember that making a cursed one suffer won't help anyone-- but ending that cursed one can save many lives in future, and while you can do both, always try to make the latter a priority, and the goal-- that's the cause you should fight for, not the former, which should only be a plus at best, if anything."
  184. (Zeriel Heifang)
  185. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  186. [00:40] "Then what do you suppose that me do?" asked Salthiel, turning his head back towards the match area.
  187.
  188. "If self-control is a must then what must I do to control it? Let us say that you are right, that I may overestimate it, and cross the line. Of unknowingly only enjoying of causing suffering, instead of simply returning it?
  189.
  190. What do I have to do to obtain it? Self-control so I may not lose myself?" asked Salthiel, before offering Alyka a brief nod.
  191. (Salthiel)
  192. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  193. [00:50] One last glance is spared in the dojo's direction, before it'd find Salthiel yet once again. Head tilts over to the side yet once again before his lips finally part.
  194.
  195. "It comes from actions, and eventually gets to your mindset. You have someone down, at your mercy... simply press that blade down a little faster--- you're slitting a throat, simply make the cut deeper-- quicker. There can be an urge to do so otherwise, but try to lower it gradually-- and eventually, it'd natural adapt."
  196.
  197. A pause, then.
  198.
  199. "Prioritize the right ideals. When you're fighting a filth, swing your staff with the mindset that you want to end this creature so he can't harm anyone, or cause anymore suffering in future, not with the mindset of how you want to make him suffer for what he did in past-- I'm not saying the latter shouldn't be present, it should just be suppressed, and never take priority over the first one."
  200.
  201. "Change the order of your ideals just a little bit, and slowly work on controlling your actions, and it'll eventually get to you. Just as effective as any meditation."
  202. (Zeriel Heifang)
  203. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  204. [01:01] "Then that would be the same as giving them mercy, Zeriel. No, I wish to make them feel pain beyond their comprehension.
  205.
  206. To make them remember how see others as mere cattle. How they speak words of fear and dominance. How they murder people with no conscience.
  207.
  208. Thinking about it makes me feel wrath beyond your comprehension.. Just thinking about it makes me coil. And the only justice I know is to make them feel extreme pain and despair as they slowly whittle to none under my magic."
  209. (Salthiel)
  210. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  211. [01:10] "If you're too adamant on that ideal to provide a quick, effective death... then not much can stop you-- it's your own ideals, and while I don't agree, as long as you can keep it under the bracket of justice-- and do not bring personal satisfaction into it, it'll be okay. Control is everything."
  212.
  213. Another pause, a longer one.
  214.
  215. "--but I will say one thing is wrong no matter how you put it. Giving the ideal of making them suffer for what they did priority over the ideal of ending them to make it a better world is always wrong. You can have both, but the latter should always be the priority-- the goal to strive for. Making a filth suffer doesn't serve anyone-- at least not the living. It doesn't help make their life better, and it doesn't help make their future safer-- you're ultimately doing it for yourself, and while there's nothing wrong with it, your primary goal should always be for others-- Agartha."
  216.
  217. Words to follow are stolen, but--
  218.
  219. "There is no purpose in being good if the only ones you're serving are yourself and your psyche. Kill to make it a better place first, and to make them suffer second, not the other way around."
  220.
  221. Ah...
  222.
  223. "Other than that, there's nothing wrong with what you believe in-- as long as you won't let it expand into something dangerous, and wrong."
  224. (Zeriel Heifang)
  225. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  226. [01:16] The youth pursed his lips.
  227.
  228. -you're ultimately doing it for yourself.
  229.
  230. And thus, it echoed within him. Like a shockwave of wind that rattled his every veins. Though, he did not want to believe it. It was true, but he did not want to believe it.
  231.
  232. Had he ever thought of others as he thought of inflicting pain? No, he only thought of inflicting pain solely for creating a semblance of justice. Thoughts surged within him. Perhaps he indeed wished for justice to be done. Other people, however, will not benefit from it. Perhaps he is indeed only feeding his own wrath, because in the end, it serves not others but only himself.
  233.
  234. The thought of it made him want to squirm.
  235.
  236. "Why is it so wrong to wish for others' pain and demise? Why does it always end up in corruption? I don't understand."
  237. (Salthiel)
  238. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  239.
  240. [01:25] The question to follow does leave him still for a moment there, pale hues briefly drifting over in the ceiling's direction-- he looked thoughtful in the moment, at the very least.
  241.
  242. It's only after a couple more, longer moments of silence would he finally speak up, glancing at Salthiel all the while.
  243.
  244. "Honestly? Countless reasons... though the one I can think of is, well--- when one causes harm and suffering, they only serve themselves, and not those around them. They can call it justice and divert it in a certain direction, and there's nothing wrong with that-- but over the time, it becomes a part of them, something to hold dear and cherish."
  245.
  246. Another, slower pause.
  247.
  248. "...and, say, once it's over-- once you've wiped out the individuals you sought to-- the chaos aligned factions you wanted gone, it won't really give you a sense of... happiness. Instead, it's an emptiness-- because the excuse, and direction you focused thise self-serving towards is now gone, and eventually that emptiness consumes you, and makes you drift in all the wrong directions just to satisfy the need-- fighting for just yourself rather than others will eventually, sooner or later come to bite you in one way or another. Always."
  249.
  250. A shrug, then.
  251.
  252. "Self-control is a thing, but it crumbles eventually... and when you finally look back, you realize that all your violent, harmful actions graced you with happiness because they satisfied you on a personal level-- not because they helped others. And that's where it becomes selfish."
  253. (Zeriel Heifang)
  254. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  255.
  256. [01:33] "By assumption you are right. But then, what do we do? Simply ignore the fact that people have been harmed? And that justice not be done?
  257.
  258. Ignore the fact that people have suffered under evil hands? Then, by that logic, what justice does it serve if you simply end the lives of evil? Ending at that notion? Who does it help?
  259.
  260. What's wrong with making them suffer even for just a little while before you end their lives?" said the youth to the Heifang.
  261. (Salthiel)
  262. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  263. [01:44] "Justice isn't just suffering and pain.
  264.
  265. A soft, brief hum follows those words, and he'd glance about the dojo.
  266.
  267. "By simply ending the lives of those who caused suffering-- by simply ridding the filth off of the face of Agartha, you're doing it-- and if you want to think about it... when you kill a chaos aligned magus, he dies-- but he also leaves people behind. Friends and family who might just be innocent in all of this-- good people, even... while they'll be hurt regardless of how the execution is laid, is it really necessary to let them know how agonizing it was for their loved one? It's a pointless act that only brings more suffering-- both to the one dying, no matter how evil, and others connected to him."
  268.
  269. Hm...
  270.
  271. "A justice is meaningless if it can't contribute to a better future-- if it can't help make others. And as long as it does, no matter how painful or painless it's delivered, it'd be just as impactful
  272.
  273. ...that's the way I view it, at least. And even if you consider the mantra of an eye for an eye, your first and foremost ideal should always be helping others--- even if you do cause suffering, no matter how large or tiny, you should do it thinking that ending this person will make it better for everyone else, that it'd make the continent a better place, your mindset should never be that you're doing it for justice, or with the feeling of revenge for ones fallen... in that case, it is no longer justice, it's just an excuse you came up with and dubbed it as so."
  274. (Zeriel Heifang)
  275. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  276. [01:49] "Perhaps you're right.
  277.
  278. But, a chaos magi with innocent, good people as friends and family? I believe that is, by far, only ideal. Chaos magis dabble with magic that directly causes the world to churn.
  279.
  280. I refuse to believe chaos magic, who essentially chose chaos and power, would leave behind innocent and good family and friends behind. And if they did, then I'd consider them not innocent. I also believe you'd be only holding yourself back if you think of someone a person would leave behind.
  281.
  282. Do soldiers even think of the innocent family an enemy soldier would leave behind? No. Perhaps they do, but they still strike and cause death. Then, why should I be damned of thinking the same, and they, paraded with medals and honor? What differs myself from normal soldiers such as they?"
  283. (Salthiel)
  284. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  285. [01:55] "Perhaps not friends--- but you don't pick family. A mother will grieve her son no matter how vile he was-- a brother will weep for the sibling fallen, no matter how much he disagreed with their actions."
  286.
  287. Murmuring out just that, he'd lean back a tad, glancing back in Salthiel's direction.
  288.
  289. "...and, no. You shouldn't let the thoughts of ones left behind hinder you while striking the killing blow-- however, there's a difference between striking a person dead, or prolonging their suffering to the extend that it's agonizing. There's a difference between a stabbed heart, and blood loss from ripped limbs."
  290.
  291. Well, then.
  292.
  293. "You can't prevent those left behind from grieving, but you can decide how large their grief is-- unnecessary violence only makes it worse. If your friends were to die, Salthiel, would you feel worse if they died peacefully, or if they suffered greatly before doing so? That's why such justice is flawed-- it serves none... and all it does is simply serve your own ego, and bring others more suffering-- perhaps even those who don't deserve it. It's not justice anymore."
  294. (Zeriel Heifang)
  295. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  296. [02:08] "If that is the case, then tell me.
  297.
  298. Why can my enemies make people suffer, but I cannot? Why can't I do the same to them? Why must I cower behind the veil of morality whilst they cannot?
  299.
  300. Why can they, and I can't? Where's the fairness in that?" asked the youth, struggling to find the righteous path.
  301. (Salthiel)
  302. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  303.
  304. [02:14] "Your enemies--"
  305.
  306. A pause, and he'd narrow his eyes for just a moment before glancing in Salthiel's direction.
  307.
  308. "--are vampires, the filth called demons that roam about, and Azraelites that serve the will of most wicked fallen angel out there."
  309.
  310. Another, softer pause.
  311.
  312. "A lot of them hunt for sport-- for mirth, and personal satisfaction... they do it because they enjoy hurting. Even Azraelites have a code of honor-- most of them don't bring pointless suffering as they end a life."
  313.
  314. "The reason why you're not allowed to do something that they do, is simply because that'd kill any difference between you, and the ones you hate. Do you want to become like them? You want to fight against them for a reason. A righteous one, as you call it."
  315. (Zeriel Heifang)
  316. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  317. [02:24] "So, the difference merely lies with them having a different moral status than me?" he asked, biting his lower lip as he rested both arms within his kimono.
  318.
  319. "Because I do not hunt for sport, for mirth and personal satisfaction, they are justified for doing so? And it would be wrong to do the same against them simply because of the fact that I may just be like them?
  320.
  321. To punish them for their actions would be wrong? Isn't this logic wrong too? Why can't I be righteous while at the same time be unforgiving and cruel?
  322.
  323. And if I can't? Is it wrong to act like them, even with my goal and principles different from they?"
  324. (Salthiel)
  325. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  326.
  327. [02:30] "They're not justified-- and that's why they deserve to be purged, and that's why we try to do just that."
  328.
  329. Wasn't it so? He'd do anything in his power to wipe them off the face of continent, but...
  330.
  331. "...and, again. Serve others first, and yourself next-- even if you are unforgiving and cruel, do not be so for the sake of justice, or because you think it's right. It doesn't help anyone whatsoever-- it's for yourself alone, and keep that in mind every time you do it-- that while you serve a righteous cause, this action is something I do for myself. Don't lie to yourself that it's for others, at the very least."
  332.
  333. Well-
  334.
  335. "-and if you really are serving others, striving to make this world a better place, ask yourself if this is really necessary? It's a selfish action which brings nothing positive to the table-- and might cause pain, even if emotional, to those who perhaps don't deserve it. As long as your primary goal is to serve others-- it doesn't matter whatever else you do, you'll be fighting for a right cause... but every single time you're inflicting more suffering than the minimum that is required, remember that you're being selfish, and that you always carry a risk of letting it get to you eventually."
  336. (Zeriel Heifang)
  337. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  338.
  339. [02:37] The youth pursed his lips as the Heifang's words ran through his mind.
  340.
  341. However, combined with a child's curiosity and his nigh unshakeable principles and mind, he strived to defend his subjective creed.
  342.
  343. "If I must act cruel to deter evil, would that be considered a positive outcome? Thus, by your words, a rightful, justifiable action for the right cause?"
  344. (Salthiel)
  345. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  346.
  347. [02:41] "Thing is, cruelty is not a necessity-- it's not a 'must' that you should do, and if you believe that you just can't bring yourself to fight against the ones you consider 'evil' without being cruel... then that's a problem. Because once that outcome is served, you'll thrive for selfish satisfaction rather than righteous cause."
  348.
  349. A pause,
  350.
  351. "That's the point where it turns into an unhealthy, harmful obsession-- regardless, anger can't be stopped, sometimes you'll end up more cruel than you should have... but that doesn't mean you should be cruel for the sake of it. For most parts, you should not-- and if you do, don't try to dub it as anything but a selfish action. Being conscious about what you do and your actions is the most important thing... and if you're conscious, you'll realize what you're doing is selfish, and what is not--"
  352.
  353. "--and then, you can make the decision. You're a good kid, don't try to step too much into the wrong path while following the righteous one, you might end up forgetting which one you're on anymore-- they're both very, very close to each other, after all."
  354. (Zeriel Heifang)
  355. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  356.
  357. [02:47] "Be conscious of my actions. And try not to be swayed by own wrath and emotions, isn't that right?" said Salthiel.
  358.
  359. "And what if I can't help but be cruel? What if I'm given no choice but to be cruel? Would it then be wrong to hold back, and allow them the pleasure of mocking me and those whom they have wronged?"
  360. (Salthiel)
  361. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  362.
  363. [02:54] "If you can't help but be cruel, that's something you really need to fix, then-- it's like a gun, and you can't help but fire it. Right now you have targets that deserve death, and so you chose them-- but eventually they'll be gone, or you'll simply not see them in time... and it'll go out of control."
  364.
  365. There's a brief, soft shake of head.
  366.
  367. "...but, yeah, there'll be moments where anger will, no matter what, take over-- and it can be okay to let go in that very moment... as long as that anger is manifested upon the right target-- but, that's only a couple exceptions. It shouldn't always be the case... and no, you're not allowing anyone the pleasure to mock you and those they hurt regardless of whether you're cruel or not."
  368.
  369. "You end them for it-- that's one of the harshest punishments anyone can come up with. But, yeah, try to work upon it, Sal... slowly, gradually learn how to control any urges that impulse-- it's for your own good in a long-run."
  370. (Zeriel Heifang)
  371. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  372. [02:59] The youth heaved a deep breath.
  373.
  374. He did not want to admit it, that he found the Heifang's words right. However, perhaps it was pride that did not allow him to do so. Though he respected people, he realized his incapacity of love. Love overshadowed by wrath and pride.
  375.
  376. Only could he grip his fist tight, shaking in defiance.
  377.
  378. Yet no words left his mouth, except for a low, "I do not understand."
  379. (Salthiel)
  380. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  381. [03:04] "You're young, and you have ideals you consider righteous-- it happens, but follow my advice even if it's not completely clear right now..."
  382.
  383. A soft, small pause.
  384.
  385. "You'll not regret it, I promise-- other than that, you're a good kid, really... strong, and someone who can definitely make an impact if he puts in effort-- you just need to put that effort in right direction."
  386.
  387. Ah, well.
  388.
  389. "I'll try to be there if you need help with anything, at the very least. You have a lot of time."
  390. (Zeriel Heifang)
  391. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  392. [03:05] "For now, I'll follow your advice," said Salthiel.
  393.
  394. "In the future, however, I cannot promise anything," and with that, stoic gaze was cast upon the Sarradian.
  395. (Salthiel)
  396. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  397. [03:06] Zeriel Heifang says, "Do it for now, and it'll only get better-- it's alright, you don't have to rush anything. "
  398. [03:08] Salthiel says, "I'll do my best."
