The Commercial

(Tikal's House)

(The kids are watching TV with Tikal)

Announcer: This program is brought to you by Comfies.
Tikal: This is it...

(Commercial begins, the kids cheer when Sonic and Mina appear on screen)

(Sonic and Mina are stacking wooden blocks, they're wearing plain white, generic diapers)

Female Narrator: "You're having a good time..."

(Cut to them rolling an inflated ball back and forth to each other)

Female Narrator: "There's just one thing that can ruin it..."

(Sonic misses)

Mina: "I'll get it!"

(She gets up and gets the ball. She pauses, feeling something. She looks down)

(Between Mina's feet, small droplets hit the floor)

Female Narrator: "... a leak."

(She blushes)

Female Narrator: "Don't worry..."

(Shot of packages of Comfies diapers for boys and girls)

Female Narrator: "... Comfies diapers gives wetness protection second to none."

(Shot of boys' and girls' diapers with super absorbent area highlighted. Blue upfront in the boys'; Pink in the middle in the girls')

Female Narrator: "That's because there are super-absorbant micro-layers for where they need it the most."

(Dramatization. The generic brand and a Comfies is are dipped in two bowls of aqua-colored liquid, beneath is a caption labelled "ELAPSED IN 50 SECONDS")

Female Narrator: "Both diapers absorb water, but thick padding leaks water out. Comfies seals water in..."

(Dramatization of inward endurace)

Female Narrator: "And thick padding can bunch up and tear apart when it's really wet. But Comfies' padding can stay together..."

(Dramatization of leakage protection. On the left, Sonic, wearing a wet generic diaper, sits on a blue matt. It leaves pee stains.  On the right, he's in a wet Comfies, sits, gets up, but doesn't leak)

Female Narrator: "... to keep you dry from morning to night."

(Sonic and Mina, are now wearing Comfies, keep playing)

Sonic and Mina: *Giggle*

(Shot of the Comfies packages again. Beneath is the caption "Accidents happen. Leaks shouldn't")

Female Narrator: "Comfies. Accidents happen. Leaks shouldn't."

(Commercial ends)

(Everyone cheers for Mina and Sonic)

Rouge: You guys were great.
Mina: Thanks.
Sonic: Yeah, it really gave us the opportunity to stretch.
Mina: Sonic, it was just a commercial. The most we can get is free diapers for a year.
Sonic: Peh! Sky's the limit, girl.
Shadow: What's gotten into him?
Mina: He's been so stuck up, now that he's been on TV. He instantly became like that as soon as he heard about the commercial.

(Flashback)

(Studio)

(Director awaits the arrival of Vanilla with Sonic and Mina)

(They come in the studio)

Director: You're almost ten minutes late! Where were you?
Vanilla: Sorry, funeral prosession slowed us down.
Director: Howard! Get these kids in the generic diapers!
Sonic: Before we do anything I got some stuff I want to lay down.
Director: All merchandising rights, 10% gross profit, and a VHS copy of the commercial.

(Crew is stunned)

(Later)

(Sonic sits on the mat in the generic diaper)

Director: Cut!
Sonic: Can I get out of this diaper now? It doesn't feel any good!
Direct: Howard!

(Howard, the gofer, picks him up and changes him into a boys' Comfies)

Sonic: And I'm getting a little hungry. Where's the craft service table? A guy's gotta eat.
Mina: Oh, brother.

(Sonic and Mina are playing together, both in the Comfies)

Director: Cut! That's a wrap!
Vanilla: You kids did a great job!
Sonic: I needed some close-ups.
Mina: For the last time, it was just a commercial, not a movie.
Sonic: Yeah, right.

(End flashback)

Tails: And it seems his head's yet to swell down!
Sonic: I have a few ideas for my next project.
Kids: Aw, no!
Sonic: HEDGEHOG: THE SONIC STORY!
Kids: *Groan*
Sonic: THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE HEDGEHOG!
Kids: No...
Sonic: TOO FAST, TOO... well, FAST!
Kids: No!
Sonic: Come on, work with me!
Mina: It was just a commercial!!!
