(eclair/lumiere) an impromptu

Ever since things went hectic, there’s actually no holiday time for them. Well, there should be a day off or two, but the single break day upon countless days of fighting for the good of galaxy is like a tiny star on a whole constellation.

And just like that, both Éclair and Lumiere knew that this is their very day off but they were sitting in Calliope and took off without anything in mind. Lumiere was busying herself with a glass of wine when Éclair suddenly screamed, swinging her legs to straight standing position. The blue-haired woman gave Éclair a sidelong glance, finishing her deliberate sip of delight before giving her partner a face.

“Wait, aren’t we in a day off?”

“You just realized it now?” Lumiere smiled. “Though, tone down with the yelling; a lady should be elegant, Éclair.”

“You should’ve told me from earlier!”

Éclair fumed slightly, back to her chair with a huff though not bordering annoyed line. She caught how Lumiere seemed to enjoy the moment, as much as she enjoyed her wine. Lumiere visibly paused, so Éclair waited. As minutes progressing, however, Éclair was left blinking. Lumiere surely took her time to come up with a witty remark. Not to mention, a speck of blush tinged on her cheeks as she looked away, finding her empty glass of wine more interesting than the conversation at hand.

“I … thought you’re going to take me somewhere.”

Oh.

Now Éclair was the one who’s at loss of words. Then again, Lumiere should have known whether she is making up excuses or playing things up. But really, Éclair did forget about the day off, and was Lumiere being too eager to go on a trip earlier when she picked her up…?

“How about we just … let Wirbelwind fly and spend our time here?”

Lumiere’s response was a vehement shook of head but there’s no hiding of her amused, yet somewhat perplexed expression.

“Mou, please learn decency next time, okay?”

“I—well—okay, if you say so, Lumiere.”
